If you carefully read the Bible and look at God's requirements to enter heaven, you realize there is: 1) NO requirement to attend a physical church. 2) NO actual requirement to read or memorize the Bible. 3) NO actual requirement to accept Jesus as your savior (seriously). Of course, reading the Bible can be incredibly useful in understanding God's teachings and demands, and reading the words of Christ is especially helpful (get a red letter Bible), but given that for most of known human history, MOST CHRISTIANS WERE ILLITERATE and could not read, there was never any strict requirement to be able to read in order to enter heaven. Only the highly-educated scribes, priests, academics and high officials could actually read, yet the illiterate were readily welcomed into heaven as long as they qualified in their deeds, faith and behavior. Fascinating, isn't it? Your pastor probably never told you any of this. I wonder why?
