Job Description – Operations Manager
1. Typically, directly supervise up to 40 employee at the hotel, including all department heads. Indirectly supervise all hotel personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
2. Plan and organize the work of others.
3. Execute marketing, sales, and operational activities and produce results that meet or exceed the hotel’s business plan.
4. Deal with the general public, guests/customers, employees and government officials with tact and courtesy.
5. Create an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction.
6. Monitor the performance of the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction system and financial reports. Initiate corrective action when revenue falls.
7. Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Initiates corrective action.
8. Develop accurate and aggressive long and short-range financial objectives consistent with the Company's expectation.
9. Prepare financial reports for management that clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends and variances.
10. Establish and maintain a pro-active human resource function to ensure employee motivation, training and development.
11. Ensure good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.
12. Establish and maintain applicable preventive maintenance procedures to protect the physical assets of the hotel.
13. Implement and maintain effective open-door communication system that crosses departmental lines in order to reach all employees.
