Niantic Vice President Masa Kawashima returned to Japan last week and performed a Dead Drop (DD). This is the message we got from the DD

According to the message, Masa, who was also a member of the initial Ingress development team, has been appointed as the Ingress product lead. Additionally, it appears that members who worked on the initial Ingress story and game design will be returning. This move is expected to help the Ingress lore live on again.
This is an announcement to agents in Japan.
Starting this month, I'm one of the product managers at Ingress!
It has already been 10 years since I worked on Ingress as a designer in 2013. During that time, I have worked on various projects, but after 10 years of traveling with Niantic, I feel the strangeness of being involved in Ingress again. This time, I worked on the early story and game design.
"(Hiding)" will join us again. Together with him, our continuing director Brian Rose, and our new team, we will continue to take on new challenges.
The reason I've been able to do this for so long is because I have all these supportive agents, and because Ingress hides something special that attracts people, and I'm one of those people who was fascinated by that.
At a time when people have overcome the pandemic and are beginning to re-enter the world, the brilliance of Ingress, XM, may allow people to find an unexpected new world.
Brian and I will also be attending the Kobe Anomaly on September 16th from the United States. We are looking forward to seeing all of you who have started and supported us.
