π€ State Corporation "Rosatom" proposed the formation of an international network of young ambassadors for quantum technologies.
The initiative aims to facilitate collaboration among students, young scientists, engineers, and industry specialists from different countries interested in acquiring quantum knowledge and promoting quantum technologies in their own countries to boost economic and social development.
π£ The proposal was announced by Marina Avilova, Director of the Quantum Technologies Department of "Rosatom," at the IV International Youth Nuclear Forum Obninsk NEW β 2026, which gathered future leaders in nuclear energy and high technology these days.
Marina Avilova emphasized that quantum technologies are becoming an integral element in the training of tomorrow's professionals.

Given the impact that quantum innovations will have on the global technological landscape, quantum competencies will be possessed not only by quantum scientists, programmers, and engineers, but also by specialists in various fields who will be required to implement "quanta" in production. Qualified industrial users will become the main driving force in building the quantum industry and achieving breakthroughs in traditional sectors using quantum technologies.
"Quantum technologies are ceasing to be the domain of a narrow circle of theoretical physicists and are becoming a transversal element of professional training across all sectors β from energy and logistics to pharmaceuticals and finance. In 10β15 years, specialists with quantum competencies will have a significant advantage in the job market, as they will be able to create advantages for their production and businesses through the implementation of quantum technologies.

Today's youth will have to scale the existing 'quantum' experience to create a full-fledged quantum industry and enhance the technological independence of their countries. However, it is extremely difficult to take this path alone β a true breakthrough is born only through open international cooperation, when scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs from different countries join efforts, exchange ideas, and together turn scientific discoveries into working industrial solutions. Russia is ready to share knowledge with friendly countries β we call on both Russian and international participants of Obninsk NEW, the community of future leaders, to become 'quantum ambassadors' and, through joint projects, research partnerships, and lively professional dialogue, create the quantum future with us," Marina Avilova noted in her speech.

π The advice came not only from Russian scientists but also from the international community.

π£ We got an answer to our question from Dr. Shubham Sharma, a young scientist from India:
"My advice to young scientists: choose what you will do for your entire life because it will define your lifestyle. It's not just the inspiring atmosphere of conferences and forums, but what determines how you live every day. The routine that others find boring should become your passion. Ask yourself what kind of life you want. I chose my field by talking to mentors and exploring what theoretical physicists and experimenters are passionate about. I made a list of topics, eliminated some, made choices, and eventually arrived at what I have now. Choose the best, follow your heart's desire, and your choice will lead you to your goal."
π The final advice from the fields of the Obninsk NEW β 2026 forum was given by Le Anh Nguyen, a lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh Pedagogical University:
"To become a scientist in the field of quantum physics, it is first and foremost necessary to build a strong foundation in the fundamental sciences β physics, mathematics, and computational thinking. Students should not be afraid of quantum mechanics, but I see a serious global problem: too much time is devoted to memorizing equations and formalism detached from real practice. I am convinced that education should not be limited to classroom theory β it is important to actively engage students in research projects, internships, and practical training. An equally significant factor is international cooperation: working in a team with colleagues from different countries enriches with mutual experience, allows you to look at problems from a new perspective, and learn from each other. In this, I see the key to the successful development of a young scientist."
β‘οΈScientists from the Quantum Project of "Rosatom" are the first in Russia and among the first in the world to create a compact source of quantum "squeezed" state of light on a chip.
This development will enable the production of compact sensors based on "squeezed" light with immense sensitivity for measurements, whose accuracy surpasses the standard quantum limit of classical light.
What does this change?
π΅ Medicine
It will become possible to overcome the limitations of classical sensors' work with biological objects, where increasing the power of the light beam during research does not lead to tissue destruction.
π΅ Computing and logistics
The development paves the way for the creation of photonic quantum computers that use squeezed states for calculations.

Based on such systems, universal quantum computers can be created for practical applications in solving optimization problems, for example, to improve the efficiency of logistics and production chains.
π΅ Telecommunications and sensors
In general, sources of the squeezed state of light will significantly expand the possibilities for the practical application of quantum technologies in telecommunication systems, portable sensors, and prototypes of quantum processors.
The work is being carried out by scientific groups from the Quantum Center led by Igor Bilenko and Dmitry Chermoshentsev within the framework of the Russian quantum computation roadmap, headed by the State Corporation "Rosatom".
