THE EXTINCT ATLAS BEAR AND GENESIS
The Atlas bear was a unique population of brown bear that lived in the Atlas Mountains of North Africa, in what is now Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. It is the only bear known to have lived naturally in Africa in recorded history.
Ancient Romans and Greeks were familiar with these bears. Historical accounts describe them living throughout the forests and mountains of North Africa, and many were captured by the Romans and transported to arenas where they were used in gladiatorial spectacles and wild-animal hunts. Centuries of hunting, habitat loss, and capture eventually took their toll. The Atlas bear disappeared sometime during the late 1800s, making it one of the most recently extinct bear populations.
A recent scientific study has brought the Atlas bear back into the spotlight. Researchers analyzed chemical signatures preserved in its remains and concluded that the bear appears to have a strict vegetarian diet made up almost exclusively of plants. That finding surprised many because the Atlas bear possessed the large canines and powerful jaws that people often associate with meat-eating predators.
Yet perhaps it should not be surprising at all.
Even today, fruit bats have sharp teeth but feed primarily on fruit. Giant pandas have powerful jaws and impressive teeth, yet spend most of their lives eating bamboo. The Atlas bear now appears to join a growing list of animals showing that sharp teeth do not automatically mean an animal was primarily a meat-eater.
This is significant because one of the most common objections raised against Genesis is the claim that animals with sharp teeth could never have lived on a plant-based diet. Yet Genesis 1:29-30 plainly states that before sin entered the world, God gave green plants to both mankind and animals for food.
The Atlas bear does not prove Genesis. God's Word does not depend on scientific discoveries for validation. But it does remind us that many assumptions used to dismiss the biblical account are not as certain as they are often portrayed.
According to Scripture, the world we see today is not the world God originally created. Death, suffering, and predation entered after man's rebellion against God. The fossil record and the living world around us show creatures with remarkable flexibility and adaptability, often in ways that challenge our expectations.
The Atlas bear is another reminder that we should be cautious about building sweeping conclusions on assumptions. The evidence may not always tell the story people expect. And sometimes it points us back to truths that were written down thousands of years ago in the opening chapters of Genesis.

Is Trump fulfilling the will of God?
Throughout the Bible, it is noted that God chose various leaders and rulers to fulfill His prophecies. God has chosen many imperfect men to be leaders including Moses, who had a speech impediment and killed an Egyptian. David committed adultery and murder.
Anglo-Saxon Stamp, Kent
A metal detectorist named Stephen Newbury found a small copper-alloy object in a field near Lynsted, Kent, that turned out to be the only confirmed example of its kind in Britain. Dating to the late 6th or early 7th century, it is a die stamp used to press warrior imagery onto thin metal foils attached to elite helmets. The figure on it shows a weapon-bearing dancer with a horned headpiece ending in bird heads, the same type of imagery found on the most prestigious early medieval helmets across northern Europe. Its presence in Kent suggests Anglo-Saxon England may have had its own specialist workshops producing this kind of elite military decoration, not just importing it from Scandinavia.

During World War II, the war came to the remote islands of the South Pacific. Hundreds of thousands of American and Japanese troops arrived on islands like Tanna in Vanuatu, places that had had almost no contact with the industrialized world.
For the islanders, what they witnessed was nothing short of miraculous. Out of the sky came enormous metal birds, and from them poured an endless stream of wonders: canned food, radios, medicine, jeeps, clothing, weapons. The soldiers seemed to summon these riches simply by building runways, speaking into radios, and marching in formation. To people with no concept of factories or global supply chains, it looked like magic, or the work of the gods.
Then the war ended. The soldiers left, the planes stopped coming, and the flow of cargo dried up.
The islanders wanted it back. So they did the logical thing: they copied exactly what they had seen the soldiers do to make the cargo appear. They carved runways out of the jungle and lit them with torches. They built control towers from bamboo and wore headphones carved from wood and coconut shells, speaking into them like radio operators. They fashioned rifles from sticks and marched in parade formation. They raised handmade American flags.
Anthropologists called them cargo cults. The most famous, the John Frum movement on Tanna, still exists today. Every February 15, followers gather to march with "USA" painted across their chests and bamboo rifles on their shoulders, waiting for a mythical American named John Frum to return with the cargo.
The rituals were not stupid. They were a rational attempt to understand a world that had briefly rained abundance and then taken it away. As the physicist Richard Feynman later noted when he coined the term "cargo cult science," it is easy to perform all the outward motions of something and still be missing the one piece that makes it actually work.
Decades on, some are still waiting for the planes to return.

Odin in an Icelandic illuminated manuscript (18th century)
Odin sacrificed an eye, but gained a more sacred, divine level of wisdom in return. This happens multiple times in Norse mythology, as Odin sacrifices his physical body to gain a cosmic understanding of reality. So the depictions of a one-eyed Odin represent the sacrifice of the earthly in exchange for the divine.

Evolutionist's greatest secret, is that there has NEVER, NOT ONCE, been an observed genetic mutation that has created and increased brand new information in a living thing (giving a new appendage like wings for example). Mutations are neutral or harmful- always. Even what they claim is brand new is never actually brand new, but the same genetic material mixed up or rearranged. This is not "brand new". They just assume this must have occured in the past in all living things. That's not even science!
Hidden in the mountains of Turkey and parts of the Middle East grows a wild grain called Triticum dicoccoides, or wild emmer wheat, the ancient ancestor of modern wheat. What is astonishing is that its genetic code is already preloaded with complex duplication systems that allow it to hybridize with other grasses and survive in harsh climates. It is as if this plant was built with future farming in mind. Even more mysterious, wild emmer’s DNA contains massive amounts of information, more than most living things, yet it serves a very specific and efficient purpose. How a wild plant, supposedly shaped by blind evolutionary forces, ended up with genetic software advanced enough to support modern agriculture is something science still cannot fully explain.
What is even stranger is how early human civilizations just happened to find this grain and begin cultivating it, despite its growth being restricted to very specific altitudes and soil conditions. Without this plant, the development of bread, and by extension much of modern civilization, would have been impossible.
Modern agriculture began in this same area after the Flood. I do not find this to be a coincidence. God had this all planned from the beginning.
