Argentina logged its largest energy trade surplus in nearly two decades last year, the energy secretariat said on Tuesday, marking a win for libertarian President Javier Milei who has vowed to use oil and gas exports to propel the weakened economy out of recession.

In a lawsuit filed in January, Annie alleges that Sam sexually abused her throughout her childhood starting from the age of 3 (Sam was 12).
These memories, she says, were repressed until 2020, when she went no-contact with her family.
Annie alleges that in 1997, when she was just 3 years old, Sam forced her to "touch his penis and perform oral penetration on him."
Between 1997 to 1999, Annie alleges that Sam's acts of sexual abuse progressed from touching his penis and performing oral penetration on him several times a week to "digital penetration of her vagina and anus," and also at times Sam would "forcibly perform oral sex on her."
Annie alleges that starting in 1999-20, Sam would regularly penetrate her "with his penis both vaginally and anally" and that these acts of "rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, molestation, sodomy, and battery" would continue for the next 8-9 years, up until Sam was an adult.
Sam's Response
On January 7, Sam Altman, along with his siblings and mother, denied all allegations made by his sister in a lawsuit:
“All of these claims are utterly untrue. The situation causes immense pain to our entire family."

The practice of "cloud seeding" was discovered in the US in 1946 by a chemist working for General Electric. China launched its own similar program in the 1960s.
Dozens of other countries — including the US — also have such programs, but Beijing has the world's largest, employing around 35,000 people, The Guardian reported.
In a statement, China's State Council said that the country's cloud-seeding project will expand fivefold to cover an area of 2.1 million square miles and be completed by 2025. (China encompasses 3.7 million square miles, meaning the project could cover 56% of the country's surface area.)
The project will be at a "worldwide advanced level" by 2035, the State Council said, and will help alleviate "disasters such as drought and hail" and facilitate emergency responses "to forest or grassland fires."
Generating artificial rain and snow is fairly simple in principle. Spraying chemicals like silver iodide or liquid nitrogen into clouds can make water droplets condense, and fall as rain or snow.
China launched a localized cloud seeding project in Beijing shortly before the 2008 Olympics, which it said successfully forced anticipated rains to fall before the event started.
In June 2016, China allocated $30 million to its cloud seeding project, and started firing bullets filled with salt and minerals into the sky.
A year later, China spent $168 million on a huge supply of equipment to facilitate the project, including four aircraft and "897 rocket launchers," The Guardian said.
As Business Insider previously reported, China's Ministry of Finance wanted to use cloud seeding to create at least 60 billion cubic meters of additional rain every year by 2020.

China has conducted another major nuclear fusion experiment in its pursuit of creating a novel source of energy. The Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) fusion energy reactor, dubbed China's 'artificial sun' sustained plasma for a whopping 1,000 seconds, breaking the 403-second record it set in 2023, according to a report in Live Science , citing Chinese media reports.
Developing nuclear fusion for energy requirements has long been a goal of scientists but reaching temperatures over 100 million degrees Celsius and sustaining its long-term operation has always proved a challenge. However, by stabilising the system for 1,000 seconds, scientists believe a major milestone in the quest to improve the technology had been achieved.
"A fusion device must achieve stable operation at high efficiency for thousands of seconds to enable the self-sustaining circulation of plasma, which is critical for the continuous power generation of future fusion plants," Song Yuntao, director of the Institute of Plasma Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, told Chinese state media.
"We hope to expand international collaboration via EAST and bring fusion energy into practical use for humanity," added Mr Song.
The nuclear reactor is yet to achieve ignition which is the point at which nuclear fusion creates its own energy and sustains the reactions. However, the new record is an encouraging step towards maintaining prolonged, confined plasma loops that may power future reactors.

Rubio’s foreign aid pause, which had exemptions for Israel and Egypt, appears to only apply to programs under the State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
While Ukraine receives some military aid through the State Department’s Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program, the vast majority of the weapons it has received from the US have gone through the Pentagon under the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) and the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
The PDA allows the president to ship weapons directly to Ukraine, and the USAI allows the Pentagon to purchase arms for Ukraine. Before leaving office, President Biden approved a huge amount of both types of military aid to Ukraine, and there’s no sign that those shipments have been frozen.
