Biden Admin Working To Effectively Ban Cigarettes In 11th Hour Proposal A 'Gift' To Cartels, Expert Says

Lowering nicotine levels in cigarettes would be a 'a gift with a bow and balloons to organized crime cartels,' former ATF official says

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is moving forward with a regulatory rule in the final days of the Biden administration that would effectively ban cigarettes currently on the market in favor of products with lower nicotine levels, which could end up boosting business for cartels operating on the black market, an expert tells Fox News Digital.

"Biden's ban is a gift with a bow and balloons to organized crime cartels with it, whether it's cartels, Chinese organized crime, or Russian mafia. It's going to keep America smoking, and it's going to make the streets more violent," Rich Marianos, former assistant director of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the current chair of the Tobacco Law Enforcement Network , told Fox News Digital of the proposal.

The FDA confirmed to Fox Digital on Monday that as of Jan. 3, the Tobacco Product Standard for Nicotine Level of Certain Tobacco Products had completed a regulatory review, but that the proposed rule has not yet been finalized.

"The proposed rule, ‘Tobacco Product Standard for Nicotine Level of Certain Tobacco Products,’ is displaying in the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) ROCIS system as having completed regulatory review on January 3," an FDA spokesman told Fox Digital. "As the FDA has previously said, a proposed product standard to establish a maximum nicotine level to reduce the addictiveness of cigarettes and certain other combusted tobacco products, when finalized, is estimated to be among the most impactful population-level actions in the history of U.S. tobacco product regulation. At this time, the FDA cannot provide any further comment until it is published."

Fox New Digital reached out to the White House regarding concerns over the proposal if it were to take effect but did not receive a response.

Despite their support for Israel, both Jordan and Egypt are now facing serious challenges. Israel has gained control over vital resources that both countries rely on.

Israel now controls 30% of Syria’s water and 50% of Jordan’s water supply. Jordan depends on the Sea of Galilee and Yarmouk River for its water, both controlled by Israel. Recently, Israel threatened to cut Jordan’s water supply after comments made by Jordan’s minister about the war in Gaza. Israel also published a map claiming Jordan as part of “Historical Israel”, which includes parts of Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. This move by Israel was strongly condemned by Jordan, but they have done little to protect their rights.

For Egypt, the U.S. has decided to take $95 million in military aid away from the Egyptian army and give it to Lebanon. This change happened because of Egypt’s human rights issues, especially the detention of political prisoners. Israel’s influence has caused this shift, showing how Egypt’s support for Israel has come at a cost to its own national interests.

Both Jordan and Egypt, despite supporting Israel, now find themselves struggling. They have allowed foreign powers to control their resources and influence their decisions. This shows how they have put their own people’s interests aside for political gain, leaving them vulnerable and without the power to protect their own futures.

8th Baby Freezes to Death in Gaza

Gaza’s Ministry of Health today announced that 35-day-old Yousef Kalloub froze to death because of the lack of sufficient winter clothes and suitable living conditions in the enclave as a result of Israel’s genocidal war.

Yousef became the eight baby to freeze to death in Gaza.

In a statement yesterday, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that “cold weather and lack of shelter are causing the death of newborns in Gaza, while 7,700 newborns lack life-saving care.

The displaced Palestinians have been living in tents made of cloth and nylon, due to the scarcity of essentials such as water and food, in addition to a severe shortage of clothing, blankets and heating during the winter.

Many tents flooded and were blown away from the winter winds last week, leaving many exposed to the elements and putting the lives of infants further at risk.

Israel’s Smotrich Calls For Major Destruction In The West Bank

He said several West Bank cities should look like Gaza's Jabalia, which has almost been completely destroyed by the IDF

On Monday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for massive destruction in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, saying several cities should look like Gaza’s Jabalia.

“Funduq, Nablus, and Jenin must look like Jabalia,” Smotrich wrote on X. The Israeli military has almost completely destroyed the Jabalia refugee camp as part of an ethnic cleansing campaign in northern Gaza.

Smotrich’s call for escalation in the West Bank came after a shooting attack killed three Israeli settlers , including two women, near an illegal settlement. “The terrorism in Judea and Samaria and the terrorism from Gaza and Iran is the same terrorism – and it must be defeated,” Smotrich, a settler himself, wrote on X.

“Those who trust the Palestinian Authority to maintain the security of Israeli citizens wake up to a morning when terrorists are again slaughtering Jewish residents,” he added.

Smotrich said the Palestinian West Bank cities need to look like Jabalia so “Kfar Saba does not become Kfar Aza, God forbid,” referring to a central Israel town and a Gaza border town hit by Hamas on October 7.
