A Whistleblower Came To ASA Regarding A Mid Air Collision Between A Gulfstream Jet And An Unidentified Metallic Object That Occurred Off The Coast Of Florida On December 11 At Approximately 27,000 Feet And Resulted In Engine Failure And An Emergency Landing...

The whistleblower is concerned because this altitude is highly regulated Class A airspace that requires flight plans and transponders, but.. there were no flight plans for the object and the object was not transponding.

We can largely eliminate the possibility of common objects because:

- a weather balloon would have been transponding
- this altitude is too high for hobby drones and illegal for any drone
- there is no biological indicator of a bird strike
- video of the engine shows metal damage

I am concerned the incident is being downplayed by FAA. The report is being classified as an “incident” and not an “accident,” which would require public announcement, investigation by NTSB, and an explanation.

Syrian Authorities Continue Campaign Against Ex-Government ‘War Criminals’ In Homs

Fierce clashes have been raging between security forces of the new Syrian government and former elements of the Syrian Arab Army

Security forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched search operations throughout Syria’s central governorate of Homs on 2 January, targeting “war criminals” affiliated with the former government’s armed forces, Syrian state media reported.

“The Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Military Operations Department, begins a wide-scale combing operation in the neighborhoods of Homs city,” state media outlet SANA reported, citing a security official.

The official added that the security forces are targeting “war criminals and those involved in crimes who refused to hand over their weapons and go to the settlement centers,” as well as “fugitives from justice, in addition to hidden ammunition and weapons.”

“We ask our civilian people to cooperate with our forces to find these criminals who keep weapons and ammunition among you, and refuse to settle and hand over these weapons,” the security official went on to say.

A curfew has been imposed on several neighborhoods in Homs city. As security forces entered and searched homes in Homs, residents told Sputnik that “fear and panic” have overtaken the streets and that “heavy gunfire” is being heard.

Israel Reinforces Occupation Of Deraa In South Syria

Israel has occupied 600 km of Syrian territory and carried out a massive bombing campaign in the country since Bashar al-Assad's fall

Al-Mayadeen reported on 4 January that the Israeli army brought reinforcements to the Al-Jazeera barracks in the village of Maariyah in the countryside of Deraa, on the Syrian-Jordanian border, in a further sign that Israel plans to expand its occupation of Syrian territory.

Sources speaking with the Lebanese channel said Israeli forces installed high concrete barriers and paved all the roads leading to the barracks. The sources added that the Israeli army has begun conducting armored patrols on the foothills at the base of the strategic Mount Hermon on the Syria-Lebanon border.

Israel has occupied some 600 km of Syrian territory after the government of Bashar al-Assad was toppled on 8 December by militants from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

Walla reported that "despite the pressure exerted by European parties on Israel, the political level directed the Israeli army to prepare for a long presence in Syrian territory."

White House To Approve Massive Weapons Sale To Israel

Sources speaking about the $8 billion arms deal said the Biden administration “informally” informed Congress.

Before President Joe Biden leaves office, he will approve one more massive arms sale to Israel. The $8 billion sale of missiles and artillery shells comes as human rights groups have labeled Israel’s war in Gaza as a genocide .

Axios reported on Friday, “The State Department has notified Congress “informally” of an $8 billion proposed arms deal with Israel that will include munitions for fighter jets and attack helicopters as well as artillery shells.”

Author Barak Ravid did not define what it means to “informally” notify Congress of the sale or if it fulfills the White House’s requirement to notify Congress of arms deals.

The massive arms sale to Tel Aviv comes after Amnesty International declared Israel’s onslaught in Gaza a genocide. “Amnesty International’s research has found sufficient basis to conclude that Israel has committed and is continuing to commit genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip, the organization said in a landmark new report published today,” the report released in early December explained.

The sale includes AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, Hellfire AGM-114 missiles, 155 MM artillery rounds, small-diameter bombs, JDAM kits, and 500-pound bombs. Many of these munitions have been used by Israel during its campaign of extermination in Gaza, including in attacks on civilian targets.

Bizarre: Youtube CEO Neal Mohan Says Youtube Is A “Bastion Of Free Speech”

YouTube claims to champion free expression, yet it enforces selective silencing while mainstream outlets escape unscathed.

If you believe Neil Mohan, YouTube’s CEO, the platform is a modern-day Agora—a self-described “bastion of free speech” where the world’s most pressing debates thrive. Though, “just because it’s an open platform, it doesn’t mean that anything goes,” Mohan told The Financial Times in the last week.

Translation: Free speech is alive and well—until it isn’t. Because on YouTube, the marketplace of ideas comes with a bouncer, a velvet rope, and an ever-expanding list of banned words and topics.

This month, YouTube is eager to remind everyone it’s “committed” to free expression, a sentiment as convincing as a fast-food chain promising “health-conscious dining.” Over the last five years, the platform has turbocharged its content moderation policies, leaning on AI overlords and human censors to police conversations ranging from vaccine skepticism to who gets to call a virus a “lab leak.”

...Consider their “community guidelines,” a vague, shape-shifting set of rules that could find your grandma’s knitting tutorial in violation if it dares question Big Pharma.

Behind this rhetoric is an algorithmic enforcement machine programmed to flag, demonetize, or outright remove content at lightning speed—accuracy be damned. And when the AI overlords fumble, the human moderators step in, wielding their own biases like blunt instruments.

.... Questioning the CDC? Misinformation. Broadcasting claims about ivermectin? Censored. But when a mainstream outlet gets caught peddling unverified or downright wrong information, it’s business as usual.

The COVID-19 Information Iron Curtain
Of course, nothing showcases YouTube’s free speech schizophrenia better than its pandemic policies. To combat “medical misinformation,” the platform instituted a strict purge of dissenting voices, silencing everyone from epidemiologists to concerned moms armed with anecdotal evidence and Facebook memes.

Let’s not forget the lab leak theory, a hypothesis once relegated to tinfoil hat territory. When early adopters of the theory dared to post about it, their content was struck down faster than you could say “gain-of-function research.” Fast forward a couple of years and the lab-leak theory is now a “credible hypothesis,” endorsed by experts and even government agencies.

Oops.

But don’t expect an apology or even acknowledgment from YouTube for playing arbiter of acceptable science. They’ve quietly updated policies and moved on, leaving censored creators wondering why their “misinformation” turned out to be, well, information.

Advertiser-Friendly Speech Only

The real driver of YouTube’s overzealous content policing, of course, is money. Back in 2017, a wave of advertiser boycotts over “hateful” and “controversial” content sent the platform scrambling. The solution? Stricter guidelines are needed to ensure that only the most sanitized, brand-safe content remains..

What’s worse is the blatant double standard. Want to critique vaccine mandates or discuss alternative COVID treatments? Good luck. But if you’re a major network spouting unverified claims about weapons of mass destruction or “imminent threats,” go right ahead.... those ad dollars won’t chase themselves....
