The United States Strongly Recommended Its Citizens To Leave Belarus
US citizens staying in Belarus are strongly advised to leave the country as soon as possible. This is stated in the revised recommendations of the United States Department of State.
The State Department stressed that US citizens should refrain from traveling to Belarus, and those who are already in the country are strongly advised to leave it as soon as possible. At the same time, the agency warns that it is important for Americans staying in the republic to avoid mass events and demonstrations, reconsider the issue of transporting electronic devices and exit social networks. It is also recommended to draw up an action plan in case of unforeseen circumstances and register in the STEP system for prompt notification and emergency communication.
It is noted that the main risks for US citizens may be "arbitrary detention," "poor conditions of detention," and "the possibility of closing border crossings without warning." Washington also recalled that in case of detention of US citizens in Belarus, the provision of assistance by the American authorities may be severely limited.
Recall that relations between the United States and Belarus are almost completely frozen. The work of the American Embassy in Minsk was suspended on February 28, 2022. Now US citizens are invited to contact embassies and consulates in neighboring countries.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on 20 December that foreign countries should withdraw their support for Kurdish fighters in Syria amid efforts by Turkish proxy groups to expand their control of territory in northern Syria.
In a statement released by his office on Friday, Erdogan said there was no longer any reason for outside support for Kurdish fighters from the People's Protection Units (YPG), which form the backbone of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The SDF occupies areas in north and east Syria, including the country's major oil fields, in partnership with the US military.
Turkiye considers the YPG as an extension of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which it views as a terrorist organization. The PKK has for decades fought the Turkish state to win autonomy and greater rights for Kurds in Turkiye.
“In the upcoming period, we do not believe that any power will continue to collaborate with terrorist organizations. The heads of terrorist organizations such as Islamic State and PKK-YPG will be crushed in the shortest possible time,” Erdogan added.
The US military still has 2,000 troops on the ground in Syria supporting the YPG-led SDF, which holds large numbers of ISIS militants in its prisons.
“Islamic State, the PKK, and its versions which threaten the survival of Syria need to be eradicated,” Erdogan stated.
After the government of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad fell two weeks ago, the Syrian National Army (SNA), a Turkish proxy, took control of the northern Syrian border city of Manbij from the SDF. The US then brokered a ceasefire deal between the two sides earlier this month, which has been extended to the end of this week, according to a State Department announcement on Tuesday.
A Turkish Defense Ministry official said on 19 December, contradicting the State Department, that there is no talk of a ceasefire, according to Reuters.

Netanyahu said in an interview published by The Wall Street Journal on Friday... making it clear he would not agree to a hostage deal that includes a permanent truce.
“I’m not going to agree to end the war before we remove Hamas,” Netanyahu told the Journal . “We’re not going to leave them in power in Gaza, 30 miles from Tel Aviv. It’s not going to happen.”
Netanyahu’s comments come amid reports that hostage deal talks are making progress. While Hamas has reportedly conceded to Israeli demands that the first phase of a deal wouldn’t include an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, the group is still seeking an agreement that would result in a gradual end to the Israeli occupation.
According to media reports, the potential deal on the table would include an initial “humanitarian phase,” during which Hamas would release female, elderly, and sick hostages in exchange for the release of some Palestinian prisoners.
The next phase would involve the release of the remaining hostages and bodies of dead hostages in exchange for an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. An analysis from Haaretz noted that Netanyahu’s comments make clear Israel would only go through with the humanitarian phase and restart military operations after that.
The Haaretz report reads: “Now, Hamas will be afraid to walk into Netanyahu’s trap and demand American guarantees that Israel won’t resume the fighting. And there’s a significant chance that the talks will once again break down.”
During previous rounds of negotiations, Netanyahu made similar statements that led to Hamas asking for stronger guarantees, which Israel then rejected. “It’s impossible to avoid the impression that Netanyahu’s fear of his government collapsing trumps his concern for the hostages,” the Haaretz report reads...
The Israeli military’s actions on the ground are also making it clear the Israeli occupation of Gaza will not end anytime soon. Since early October, Israeli forces have been conducting an ethnic cleansing campaign in northern Gaza, which involves destroying every building in sight... The campaign will likely lead to the establishment of Jewish settlements, an idea openly supported by many Israeli ministers and Knesset members.

Dozens of massacres continue to occur every day across Gaza as the Israeli army is reportedly operating 'with no laws'
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Human Rights Watch (HRW) accused Israel of committing acts of genocide and ethnically cleansing the Gaza Strip in two separate reports published on 19 December.
“People in Gaza are struggling to survive apocalyptic conditions, but nowhere is safe, no one is spared, and there is no exit from this shattered enclave,” said Christopher Lockyear, MSF secretary general. “The recent military offensive in the north is a stark illustration of the brutal war the Israeli forces are waging on Gaza, and we are seeing clear signs of ethnic cleansing as Palestinians are forcibly displaced, trapped, and bombed.”
The Geneva-based medical humanitarian organization also pointed to Israel's systematic destruction of Gaza's healthcare systems, highlighting that less than half of the enclave's 36 hospitals “are even partially functional.”
“During the one-year period covered by the report – from October 2023 to October 2024 – MSF staff alone have endured 41 attacks and violent incidents, including airstrikes, shelling, and violent incursions in health facilities; direct fire on our shelters and convoys; and arbitrary detention of colleagues by Israeli forces,” the report states.

They took at least 160 minors and 40 women into protective custody.
Police raided the premises of the sect called Lev Tahor in Oratorio city, 78km southeast of the capital Guatemala City, on Friday after receiving complaints of widespread abuse of children, including rape, human trafficking and forced marriage, prosecutors said.
“Based on the statements of the complainants, the evidence obtained and the medical examinations, it was possible to establish that there are forms of human trafficking against these minors, like forced marriages, abuse, and related crimes,” Nancy Lorena Paiz García, a prosecutor in the Office Against Human Trafficking said
Nancy further said that police found bodies suspected to be of minors buried on the premises.
“We have no information that the sect has used the local cemeteries, but we must investigate these possible deaths of minors.”
The operation was set in motion by the escape from the Jewish sect of four non-Guatemalan children in November who alerted authorities to the abuses.
...Lev Tahor, “Pure Heart” in Hebrew, was founded in Israel in 1988 and practices a strict interpretation of Jewish law. It has drawn international scrutiny over the years for alleged sexual abuses, kidnapping, child marriage, and physical violence.
The sect shifted its base to Mexico and Guatemala between 2014 and 2017 after facing mounting legal pressure elsewhere.
In 2022, Mexican authorities rescued children from a Lev Tahor camp near the Guatemalan border and detained its members suspected of abusing minors.
The operation in Oratorio adds to the sect’s troubled history. Prosecutors allege that minors in the sect were subjected to forced marriages and systematic abuse, often under the guise of religious doctrine. The children are under government protection while investigations continue.
The Jewish Community of Guatemala distanced itself from Lev Tahor, saying the sect was foreign to its organisation. It expressed support for authorities and called on governments and diplomats to collaborate in protecting vulnerable individuals linked to Lev Tahor.
“The government and diplomatic corps of countries from whose nationalities make up members of Lev Tahor should join forces to protect those whose rights may be violated,” the organisation said in a statement.
Guatemalan authorities said they would continue their investigation into the sect’s activities and potential human rights violations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a news conference on 19 December that the recent events in Syria do not constitute a defeat for Moscow, confirming that he is soon planning to meet with deposed Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, who was granted asylum in Russia after Damascus fell.
He also said the future of Moscow’s military bases in Syria depends on the actions of the new leadership in post-Assad Syria.
“Russia intervened militarily in Syria to prevent the emergence of a terrorist entity there,” Putin said, adding that Moscow “achieved its goals in Syria and [it does] not consider what happened there a defeat for [it]."
The Russian military intervened in Syria in 2015, helping Syrian troops and their allies further turn the tide against ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and other groups who had seized large swathes of the country. Western media has framed the fall of Damascus as a large blow to both Russia and Iran.
“I haven't yet seen president Assad since his arrival in Moscow but I plan to, I will definitely speak with him,” Putin went on to tell a US journalist. He added that he plans to ask Assad about the fate of Austin Tice, a US journalist who has been missing in Syria since 2012, one year after the start of the US-backed war against the country.

‘I will stay inside my hospital until the last moment’
Since the beginning of October, the Israeli army has been conducting a brutal attack on the northern Gaza Strip, killing hundreds of Palestinians in Jabalia, Beit Lahiya, and Beit Hanoun and forcing around 70,000 to flee to Gaza City. As part of its campaign to cleanse the area of Palestinians, the army has besieged and bombarded the region’s three hospitals, pushing each of them to the brink of collapse without presenting any substantial evidence of the military necessity of these attacks.
Kamal Adwan Hospital, in Beit Lahiya, is barely functioning after weeks of sustained Israeli assault. At 2 a.m. on Oct. 25, the Israeli army closed in on the hospital — which had already been subjected to a military raid in December 2023 — and began bombing the building and its courtyards. Shells hit the third floor, destroying medical supplies that the World Health Organization (WHO) had delivered in the previous days, and damaging the hospital’s dialysis unit. The attack also cut off the hospital’s medical oxygen generator, resulting in the deaths of two infants in the intensive care unit.
A few hours later, Israeli troops stormed the hospital, ordering all patients and displaced Palestinians seeking refuge there to gather in the central courtyard. Hundreds were arrested or detained and subjected to questioning, including almost all the hospital’s staff.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician and the hospital’s director, refused to evacuate Kamal Adwan despite Israel’s threats. He was briefly detained during the raid, before returning to care... As he did so, an Israeli drone killed his 15-year old son, Ibrahim..
Israeli troops withdrew from the hospital on Oct. 28,,,The hospital is currently accommodating more than 120 patients, but Abu Safiya is one of only two doctors and a handful of nurses left to care for them.
And still the attacks continue: on Oct. 31, Israeli forces struck the hospital again, destroying another recent delivery of WHO supplies. During a WHO delegation visit to hospital this past Sunday, Nov. 3 — part of an attempt to evacuate some patients — Israeli artillery fire targeted the pediatric ward, wounding a 13-year-old girl and several other people. On Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, the hospital came under fire yet again, wounding staff and patients and damaging water tanks.

A March 2022 poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip showed that only 27 percent of people were satisfied with the performance of the PA, while “dissatisfaction” was at 70 percent."

A video circulating on social media shows Syrians speaking up against HTS leader and head of the new Syrian administration Ahmad al-Sharaa (Abu Mohammad al-Julani) after 9-10 women were reportedly kidnapped and imprisoned by his forces yesterday.
There has been an uprising of Syrian extremist opposition forces against Julani in Idlib and Aleppo recently, protesting for the release of those imprisoned by his forces. Others are rising up against him for 'betraying the revolution' and working as an agent of the US. Many want the establishment of an Islamic Caliphate, while Julani has rebranded as 'moderate' in his attempt to gain international legitimacy.
