🚨Pentagon Confirms 'Around 2,000' US Troops Deployed In Syria

Washington quietly doubled the official number of troops present inside Syria at an unspecified point before the fall of Damascus

Pentagon Press Secretary General Pat Ryder revealed on 19 December that the US has “around 2,000” troops deployed inside Syria, more than double the figure Washington has previously claimed to have inside the war-torn country.

“As you know, we have been briefing you regularly that there are approximately 900 US troops deployed to Syria. In light of the situation in Syria and teh significant interests, we recently learned that those numbers were higher,” Ryder told reporters on Thursday, adding that he “learned today there are approximately 2,000 US troops in Syria.”

Ryder goes on to reveal that the unannounced increase started before the fall of the Syrian government — without specifying a time frame — and that the deployment includes temporary forces for “shifting mission requirements."

The US illegally deployed troops in Syria in November 2015 to allegedly “prevent the return of ISIS.” This came just two months after Russia accepted the request of Damascus to provide air support to the Syrian army, Iranian special forces, and Hezbollah in their fight against ISIS forces who threatened to overrun the Syrian capital.

In the chaos that ensued, Washington and allied Kurdish militias seized control of Syria's resource-rich northeast, where the US army remains to this day and regularly loots Syrian resources.

The US Propaganda Machine Wishes to Play the ISIS Card to Justify Its Continued Illegal Occupation of Syria, as it plunders oilfields and starves the Syrian people..

The Business Insider article frames the US mission and priority in Syria to be in dealing with ISIS.

It is well documented that the US National Security Apparatus was intent on removing Assad before ISIS even existed.

A 2012 DOD intelligence report shows the intent to remove Assad before he was first accused of chemical weapons, which wouldn’t come until 2013 as I wrote in my 2019 article featured below.

The whole “We have to be in Syria to fight ISIS” (and that is why we are plundering the country’s exhaustible natural resources as the people live in poverty the US has largely contributed to, and still does through sanctions) is a bit convenient given that a 2012 intelligence report from the DOD reveals that the US *checks notes* predicted that funding the US funding the opposition to Assad, whom the report acknowledged was largely composed of *checks notes* Jihadi extremists including Al-Qaeda, would likely lead to an Islamic state, which “the supporting powers to the opposition”, identifed as the US, Turkey, and the Gulf nations, WANT….

And why did the US, Turkey, and Gulf nations want an Islamic to rise? To “isolate the Assad regime”… You can’t make this shit up.

And of course, the US funding these “moderate rebels” and flooding them with weapons would later lead to ISIS.

Syria's De Facto Ruler Says Foreign Extremists 'Deserve Syrian Citizenship'

Abu Mohammad al-Julani, a UN-designated terrorist, held a press conference in Damascus to speak with western media about the future of Syria

Abu Mohammad al-Julani, who now goes by his real name Ahmad al-Sharaa, the head of Hayat Tahir al-Sham (HTS) and Syria's new de facto ruler, has stated that foreign fighters who helped his organization topple the Syrian government may be allowed to receive Syrian citizenship.

Julani, the former Al-Qaeda commander and UN-designated terrorist, was asked during a press briefing in Damascus on 17 December about the status of foreign fighters who took part in the so-called Syrian revolution and who have now been present in Syria for many years,

Julani stated that foreign fighters who entered Syria for HTS to fight against the Syrian government were “part of the movement that led to the downfall of Assad and should be celebrated.”

As part of the US-backed covert war on the Syrian government, Islamic State of Iraq (later ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi dispatched Julani and a group of extremist fighters from Iraq to Syria in August 2011 to establish the Nusra Front, the official Al-Qaeda branch in Syria.

Julani's organization carried out suicide bombing attacks in Damascus in December 2011 and January 2012 before announcing the existence of the group.

🚨BREAKING: Blasts Rock Kyiv As Missile Attack Targets Ukrainian Capital

Multiple explosions were reported in Kyiv early Friday as air defences intercepted missiles.

Fires broke out in the Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dnipro districts, with debris setting cars ablaze and damaging a construction site.

The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a "ballistic missile from the north" and tracked a MiG-31 fighter jet capable of launching hypersonic missiles.

At least two people were injured and hospitalized.

Smoke was seen rising over parts of the city.

Inmates at Israel's shadowy new detention facility face non-stop abuse — from deadly beatings and electric shocks, to constant handcuffing and skin diseases.

In February, Rami was arrested by the Israeli army at Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital. The 42-year-old Palestinian was taken to the notorious Sde Teiman detention center, where, like thousands of Gazans detained there, he endured severe abuse at the hands of the guards. But he was soon transferred out. “...I found myself in another prison,” he told +972 and Local Call. That prison was Ofer Camp — a military facility that Israel established during the current war to hold detainees from Gaza, located between Jerusalem and Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

Rami described the facility as no less brutal than Sde Teiman. “I was severely tortured,” he said. “We were forced to kneel with our hands tied from sunrise until midnight. Guards beat us on every part of our bodies. I was given electric shocks every two days.” He stressed that such treatment was not exceptional: “All detainees at Ofer were tortured, beaten, and humiliated. We [all] received food only once a day.”

On March 24, after weeks of detention in these conditions, Rami was released back to Gaza; there were no charges filed against him.

+972 and Local Call obtained testimonies from 19 Palestinians, some of whom are current detainees who spoke through their lawyers at the Israeli human rights group HaMoked, and others...

Gazans held at Ofer Camp, which is adjacent to the long-standing prison of the same name, are among the Palestinian detainees Israel classifies as “unlawful combatants.” As such, they go through a very brief legal procedure: normally, this consists of a three-minute hearing conducted via Zoom, where they are accused of “supporting terror,” and following which their detention is extended for another six months or until “the end of the war.”...

‘One of the young men detained with us was killed’

In May, following mounting revelations of severe abuse against detainees at Sde Teiman — including cases of death and even rape — a group of five Israeli human rights organizations filed a petition with the High Court of Justice...

Although the court stopped short of ordering the closure of Sde Teiman, the facility was gradually converted into a transit camp.. the abuse hasn’t stopped: it has merely been relocated.

American Diplomat To Meet With Al-Qaeda Affiliated Al-Julani

A top American diplomat in the Middle East is traveling to Damascus to meet with Mohammad Abu al-Julani. The trip is a sign that the US may lift sanctions on the al-Qaeda-affiliated rebel group that deposed former Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.

The Financial Times reports that President Joe Biden has deployed Barbara A. Leaf, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, to Syria to meet with Julani. Julani, the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), has recently said he hopes Western countries will be willing to lift sanctions on Syria and remove HTS from the foreign terrorist organizations list.

British diplomats met with Julani earlier in the week. The meetings come as Julani continues to have a $10 million bounty from the State Department for his capture.

Following Assad’s ouster, Biden heralded Assad’s fall and Julani’s rise as a “fundamental act of justice.” Politico explained that a furious debate broke out in the White House on the issue of removing HTS’s terrorism designation.

Julani, who fought for Al-Qaeda in Iraq during the Iraq War, has attempted to soften his image in recent years by giving friendly interviews to Western journalists, often appearing in a suit and with a trimmed beard to obscure his jihadist ideology.

In one of his first addresses to the Syrian people, he declared the institution of Sharia law, according to Israel National News. He said that the morality police should enforce Islamic law through education rather than force. Julani noted violence was still an option, saying, “The jihad is obligatory for this reason.”

Moscow Vows Response After Ukraine Fires More US And British Missiles Into Russia

The Russian Defense Ministry said the attack targeted a chemical plant

Ukrainian forces fired six US-provided Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) and four British Storm Shadow missiles into Russia’s Rostov Oblast on Wednesday, and Moscow is vowing it will respond.

According to Russian media, the NATO-supported attack targeted a large chemical plant in Rostov . “These actions by the Kiev regime supported by Western handlers won’t be left unanswered,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The ministry said that all of the ATACMS were shot down by Russian air defenses, and three out of four of the Storm Shadows were intercepted. One of the missiles fell and caused damage on the grounds of the chemical plant.

President Biden gave Ukraine the greenlight to use US and British missiles in long-range strikes on Russian territory despite Moscow making it clear the move would risk nuclear escalation . Since then, Ukraine has launched several attacks on Russian territory using Western-provided missiles.

President-elect Donald Trump has called Biden’s decision to sign off on the long-range strikes “stupid” and suggested he could reverse the move.

‘Unbearable Burden Of War’: Hundreds Of Officers Retire From Israeli Army

Israeli troops are facing psychological issues and exhaustion as a result of battles in Gaza

Hundreds of Israeli officers have withdrawn from military service this year – citing the “burden of war” and unsatisfactory conditions for reservists, Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported on 19 December.

“About 500 majors have already retired this year,” Israel Hayom said. The Israeli army is “surprised by the scope of the phenomenon, and admits that they estimated that the wave of departures would expand when the fighting subsides, and not in the midst of the war,” the daily added.

The report confirms that Israel started its war on Gaza last year with a “particularly acute manpower crisis.”

In 2022, a record number of over 600 Israeli majors retired from service. While the pace of departures slowed down at the start of 2023, as the war erupted in October of that year, the “trend is now worsening” once again, and the “outlook for 2025 is not encouraging.”

One of the reasons is “the unbearable burden placed on [soldiers] by the war.” Many are tired of leaving their houses and families and putting themselves at risk for a “not so rewarding” salary.

“The army is interested in increasing the number in order to establish more combat units, more defense battalions, more air defense units, and so on. At the moment, it is not clear how the army will manage to do this,” according to Israel Hayom.

Not only majors and captains are hesitant to continue service, but unit commanders are, as well.

The ground battles in Gaza and Lebanon have taken a toll on Israeli forces. A few weeks before the war and ground operations in south Lebanon ended, Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israel was facing a “huge” shortage of soldiers due to a serious enlistment crisis.

The newspaper said at the time that 7,000 recruits were urgently needed.

The atrocities and war crimes being committed against innocent Palestinians as part of the genocide that Israel has been waging in Gaza for over a year have also taken a psychological toll on some soldiers.

Earlier this year, dozens of Israeli reservists signed a protest letter saying they would not obey a government-issued call to Gaza, citing the atrocities being committed there.

An Israeli commander told Haaretz newspaper on 18 December that soldiers stationed on the Netzarim corridor in Gaza, which splits the strip into two, are under strict orders to “shoot anyone” they spot approaching the “killing area.”

“The killing area is the sniper's target range … We kill civilians there, and they are counted as terrorists,” he added, revealing that a “competition” exists between the different army divisions occupying the east-to-west corridor. “If Division 99 killed 150, then the next in line would try to reach 200.”

US Report Reveals Push To Weaponize AI For Censorship

For a while now, emerging AI has been treated by the Biden-Harris administration, but also the EU, the UK, Canada, the UN, etc., as a scourge that powers dangerous forms of “disinformation” – and should be dealt with accordingly.

According to those governments/entities, the only “positive use” for AI as far as social media and online discourse go, would be to power more effective censorship (“moderation”).

A new report from the US House Judiciary Committee and its Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government puts the emphasis on the push to use this technology for censorship as the explanation for the often disproportionate alarm over its role in “disinformation.”

The interim report’s name spells out its authors’ views on this quite clearly: the document is called, “Censorship’s Next Frontier: The Federal Government’s Attempt to Control Artificial Intelligence to Suppress Free Speech.”

The report’s main premise is well-known – that AI is now being funded, developed, and used by the government and third parties to add speed and scale to their censorship, and that the outgoing administration has been putting pressure on AI developers to build censorship into their models.

What’s new are the proposed steps to remedy this situation and make sure that future federal governments are not using AI for censorship. To this end, the Committee wants to see new legislation passed in Congress, AI development that respects the First Amendment and is open, decentralized, and “pro-freedom.”
