Gradually Israel will disconnect completely from the standards of human civilization and develop its own morality, its own logic

I'm in a shop that sells legumes. On the wall before me hangs a picture of a man with graying hair and a trenchant gaze. Below it is a caption: "Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu." In a weird moment of disorientation I ask myself: Why is this picture hanging here? Isn't this person wanted for murder? I must be confusing him with someone else. No way someone like that would be honored this way in a respectable business.

In front of me and behind me ordinary people are waiting in line to pay for the pine nuts and peas in the bags they're holding. The customers look completely normal. But no, it looks as though I'm not mistaken. There's no disorientation, I'm perfectly lucid. This is really how it is: The prime minister, the elected leader of the only country I belong to, is wanted for murder under a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court – one of the loftiest institutions created by the human race. The results of his actions are plain to see: whole cities laid waste, myriads are dead.

It's a chilling thought. We've become accustomed to having offenders in the top ranks of the state: swindlers, cheats, bribe takers. But it looks as though the situation has been aggravated ... The situation becomes even more confusing when we remember who the other person is who's wanted for similar offenses: Yoav Gallant, the former defense minister. The person against whose dismissal we demonstrated not very long ago.

If the warrants are ever carried out, Netanyahu and his arch-enemy could well be thrown into the same prison cell side by side. And the newly elected leader of the Free World, the next president of the United States, the man who oversees the keeping of the world order, who has under his command 1.5 million soldiers, 13,000 aircraft and 11 aircraft carriers... By chance or not by chance, he's also a friend of Netanyahu. Scary as hell.
Something odd has happened to our world. We've been snared in the net of a gang of criminals.

...And let's remember: We can't disconnect from them. It may be consoling to believe that there are criminals in the government, but that the institutions are being managed with professional criteria. But every sensible person understands that, over time, the thugs shape the institutions in their image. Nothing will survive. If the picture of an offender is hanging in your daughter's school, that's a sign that he'll set the example in that institution...

How do Israelis cope with the knowledge that their country is not much more than a gang of murderous criminals who won't balk at the most serious deeds? Most people can't live with that dissonance. No wonder that the mainstream media and the opposition also reject out of hand the accusations of the court in The Hague – especially considering that one of the warrants is targeting Gallant, a darling of the protest movement.

If you ask them for an explanation, they will reply that the United Nations and its institutions have themselves fallen under the sway of an extreme anti-Israeli and perhaps even antisemitic ideology. They expect the world to return to "healthy logic" and recognize the justness of the Jewish state...

Because every person needs some sort of justification for his deeds, Israelis will need to create alternative standards for themselves. These will rest in part on the criminal morality of Trump and his gang, and will draw support from him. Others will retreat into religious nationalism, as those who are faithful to the rulings of the rabbis by definition don't see themselves as obligated to observe the law of nations and the imperatives of reason. The Hague, Amsterdam, Geneva – they're merely names of cities of impure gentiles. Gradually Israel will disconnect completely from the standards of human civilization..

Trump’s Surgeon General Pick Supports Social Media Digital ID, Praised Facebook’s Censorship Of Vaccine “Misinformation”

As President Trump’s second administration is taking shape, his picks for various key positions are expectedly coming under scrutiny, with the choice of the surgeon general nominee causing particular interest.

The nominee, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, has in the past defended issues like digital ID, and online age verification, but also even Big Tech’s – specifically Facebook’s – censorship around Covid topics.

None of this is sitting well with some Trump supporters, who are now outright calling Nesheiwat “a bad choice.”

As recently as in March and July of this year, Nesheiwat appeared on Fox News to call for teens and young children to be banned from social platforms (the contentious question here is rarely the intent, but rather the method, namely using digital ID for age verification).

In March, she defended Florida House Bill (HB 3), mentioning the usual accusations that the internet represents a serious threat to young people’s mental health, but also life, in a plethora of ways.

Other than endorsing HB 3, which bans minors younger than 14 and seeks parental consent for those under 16 to be able to use social networks, Nesheiwat also called for more “awareness” and involvement by parents – as a way to help manage the “challenges” of enforcing this, and other laws, such as the federal COPPA rule.

US Mercenary Firms Compete For 'Huge Contracts' To Control Security In North Gaza: Report

Infamous Pentagon contractors Constellis and Orbis are the front-runners to take over for the Israeli army once the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in north Gaza comes to a halt

Israel is examining the launch of a “pilot program” that could see US private security firms replace the army in northern Gaza to “accompany food and medicine convoys” for Palestinians who remain in the devastated region, according to a report by Israeli daily Globes.

Among the top competitors for the multi-million dollar contract are Constellis, the direct successor to infamous mercenary company Blackwater, and Orbis, a little-known South Carolina company run by former generals that has worked with the Pentagon for 20 years.

Officials say the pilot program for north Gaza aims to “prevent Hamas or other gangs from taking over the aid trucks and free the IDF soldiers from the dangerous mission.”

In recent weeks, Gaza's interior ministry established a new police force to deal with groups of bandits and gang that have been raiding humanitarian aid shipments and blackmailing international organizations in the southern Gaza Strip.

The UN has said these gangs are likely “benefiting from a passive if not active benevolence” or “protection” from the Israeli army.

In October, a third US security firm – Global Delivery Company (GDC) – which describes itself as “Uber for warzones" – claimed to be working with another firm to create and manage “humanitarian bubbles” in Gaza.

GDC is run by Mordechai Kahane [ Moti Kahana ], an Israeli businessman who worked with Israeli intelligence during the war on Syria to arm extremist groups seeking to topple the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. [interesting, not surprising]

The former army officer also says Tel Aviv will likely “ask that the US – or an outside party – finance the program.”

On Tuesday, Israel Hayom reported that the pilot program has yet to receive approval from the security cabinet “due to legal difficulties in defining the occupation” based on international law.

“In order to circumvent the legal obstacles, the security services are examining bringing in external funding from humanitarian aid organizations or foreign countries for the [mercenary firms], which costs tens of millions of dollars to operate,” the report adds.

Since the start of the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, the Israeli government has turned to mercenaries to overcome an enlistment crisis. This includes cooperation with German intelligence to recruit asylum seekers from Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria.

A committee formed by Oct. 7 massacre survivors concluded that Israel's government and defense establishment failed in their primary mission of protecting the security of Israelis

The commission, which issued its report on Tuesday, highlighted Netanyahu's role in fostering the "quiet for cash" policy that bolstered Hamas, silencing dissenters, and preventing critical discussions on security issues.

It detailed failures across the security establishment, highlighting the military and government's overconfidence in intelligence, technology, and a "small and smart army" approach.

Decision-making processes were marred by arrogance, poor coordination, and inadequate preparation for scenarios such as Hamas' mass invasion on October 7, despite prior intelligence indicating potential threats.
