It was Netanyahu and Biden that announced the ceasefire. Hezbollah stayed silent. Even now, Hezbollah has not made a statement.

This shows it was Netanyahu and Biden that had to explain and justify this agreement to their people, because this ceasefire is a total failure for them. In fact, it is an implicit capitulation to Hezbollah.

Netanyahu made it clear that 'Israel has accepted' the ceasefire, meaning it was Hezbollah which offered it. When you offer something, you are in the position of power, you dictate the rules and the conditions, you are the one who gets to make the demands. Israel was the one that needed this most.

Have you ever seen the winner of a war announce the ceasefire first? No, it's always the loser, because they need to justify it to their people, in order not to face backlash.

This ceasefire agreement, in many ways, is much more lenient and less strict than the 2006 agreement, which is unanimously seen as a victory for Hezbollah. So, I think it is clear where we stand. The Party of God is, once again, victorious on the battlefield.

Israel's NSO Group may know a lot more about how customers use its Pegasus commercial spyware product than the company has let on, newly released court documents connected to a legal dispute with Meta's WhatsApp suggest.

In fact, NSO Group installed and operated the spyware on behalf of its customers, making the company directly liable for the spyware's use, WhatsApp lawyers said in one court filing, released Nov. 14 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

The court documents are part of a lawsuit that WhatsApp filed against NSO Group in October 2019 after discovering the Israeli firm had used WhatsApp servers to distribute Pegasus to some 1,400 mobile phones, including those belonging to journalists and rights activists.

White House Sabotages Senate Vote To Block Israel Arms Sales As Staffers Dissent Against Biden's 'Legacy Of Horror' In Gaza

New internal dissent letters are again blasting Washington for its unwavering support of the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza

The US government is lobbying Democratic senators to vote against legislation that would halt $20 billion worth of arms sales to Israel, according to US officials who spoke with the Times of Israel on 20 November.

“Biden aides have argued that the weapons in question are essential for Israel’s defense and won’t be delivered for another year or two, ‘so the likelihood of them being used in this iteration of the Gaza context is very low,’” the Israeli daily cites the sources as saying, adding that officials from the White House, State Department, and Pentagon have reached out to “various lawmakers on the fence about how they might vote.”

Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders introduced the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval, citing Washington's continued violations of US law that prohibit the transfer of weapons to governments committing human rights violations. Six other senators publicly backed the resolutions: Jeff Merkley, Brian Schatz, Elizabeth Warren, Peter Welch, Chris Van Hollen, and Bernie Sanders.

US senators are expected to vote on the legislation on Wednesday.
The White House's latest move to protect US arms transfers to Israel comes on the heels of new internal government dissent letters criticizing President Joe Biden's unwavering support for the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

“You are running out of time to do the right thing, but decisive action could save precious lives in the next two months,” reads the letter, according to Politico. Twenty “current, full-time employees of the White House” drafted the letter.

Israel Ends 'Administrative Detention' For Illegal Settlers As West Bank Annexation Looms

The number of Palestinian children detained without charge in the occupied West Bank has nearly quadrupled since last year

Israel’s Defense Ministry announced on 22 November the end of administrative detention for illegal settlers in the occupied West Bank, as Palestinians – particularly minors – continue to suffer under the controversial policy.

“In a reality where the Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria is subject to serious Palestinian terror threats and unjustified international sanctions are taken against the settlers, it is not appropriate for the State of Israel to take such a severe measure against the people of the settlements,” newly appointed Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Friday.

“If there is suspicion of criminal acts, the perpetrators can be prosecuted, and if not, there are other preventive measures that can be taken other than administrative detention orders,” the defense minister added.

He also said he condemns “any phenomenon of violence against Palestinians and taking the law into one’s own hands, and [he] also appeal[s] to the settlement leadership to take a similar public position and express an unequivocal position on the issue.”

Administrative detention is, in the majority of cases, used against Palestinians but has, at times, been applied to extremist Israeli settlers. Under the policy, people can be held without charge for up to six months, and detention can be renewed indefinitely.
