Incoming US Government Readies Strategy To 'Topple Iran Regime': Report

Stacked with Israel-first officials, Donald Trump's second administration is preparing plans to expand the US-Israeli war in West Asia

The inner circle of US President-elect Donald Trump is “formulating strategic plans targeting Iran's current regime,” according to high-level Israeli sources who spoke with Israel Hayom.

“Israeli-American strategic cooperation would focus specifically on challenging Iran's current leadership structure,” the anonymous sources are quoted as saying, highlighting that the broader aim of the strategy would effectively “neutralize” the operational capabilities of the Resistance Axis.

The report comes as Tel Aviv and Washington await Iran's planned retaliation to Israeli attacks on its territory in late October.

Days after soundly defeating his opponents at the polls, Trump has already stacked the cabinet of his new administration with aggressively anti-Iran hawks, including Representative Mike Waltz as national security advisor and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel.

Trump also named Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host, author, and military veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as his pick for defense secretary. Hegseth has previously advocated for giving Israel autonomy to target Iran's nuclear facilities, calling these “an existential threat to [Israel], let them do what they need to do.”

🚨🇮🇱⚖️ICC Issues Arrest Warrants For Netanyahu And Gallant

The US rejected the warrants since it implicates US officials

The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Thursday formally issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for their role in the genocidal war on Gaza.

The ICC said it was issuing the arrest warrants for crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by Israel since October 8, 2023, and up to at least May 20, 2024.

The ICC said the two Israeli leaders also “bear criminal responsibility as civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population.”

The court said Netanyahu and Gallant “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity.”

The ICC also announced it was issuing an arrest warrant for Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, known as Mohammed Deif. Israel claimed to have killed Deif in a strike on a tent camp that killed nearly 90 Palestinians, but Hamas has said he’s still alive. Deif is the head of Hamas’s military wing, known as the al-Qassam Brigades.

US Fumes At ICC Warrants For Israeli Leaders As World Welcomes 'Step Toward Justice'

Washington and Tel Aviv say they are coordinating retaliatory actions against the ICC, while Palestinian officials called the warrants 'a limited and spiritual step' if not backed by all 124 signatories of the Rome Statute

The White House “fundamentally rejects” the decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on 21 November to issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant.

“We remain deeply concerned by the Prosecutor’s rush to seek arrest warrants and the troubling process errors that led to this decision. The United States has been clear that the ICC does not have jurisdiction over this matter. In coordination with partners, including Israel, we are discussing next steps,” a National Security Council spokesperson told reporters.

Hours after the ruling, the State Department canceled its daily press briefing.

US opposition leaders also rebuked the decision, with Senator and Donald Trump-ally Lindsey Graham calling the ICC "a dangerous joke. "It is now time for the US Senate to act and sanction this irresponsible body," Graham stressed.

Similarly, Republican senator Tom Cotton invoked the 2002 American Service-Members’ Protection Act, also known as “The Hague Invasion Act,” which authorizes the use of military force to liberate any US citizen or citizen of a US-allied country arrested in The Hague.

Gaza Civil Defense Team Killed Mid-Rescue By Israeli Army

Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said rescue teams have been targeted 18 times during their missions to save lives in Gaza

The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip said in a statement on 20 November that its crews were targeted by Israeli forces as they were tending to the victims of an airstrike on a home in the Sabra neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.

“The occupation aircraft directly bombed our crews while they were trying to retrieve the martyrs and the injured from under the rubble of a house that was bombed in the Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza City,” Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said.

“The targeting led to the martyrdom of rescue worker Ali Muhammad Mustafa Omar and the injury of others, bringing the number of Civil Defense martyrs to 87. We condemn this blatant targeting of humanitarian service providers, who are urged to be protected by the Geneva Convention and international humanitarian law," the spokesman added.

This is the 18th time that Israeli forces “have targeted our teams during their missions to save lives and alleviate the suffering of our people amidst the ongoing aggression.”

At least two Palestinians were killed and several others injured in the attack on the Sabra neighborhood.

People’s Arms Embargo’ At Travis Air Force Base

Seventy-five protesters gathered under threatening skies at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California at 6:30 am on Wednesday, November 20. Their mission: to speak out and briefly interrupt the shipment of weapons to Israel from this air base.

For 90 minutes, they showed banners such as “Stop Arms for War Crimes” and “Stop Travis: No US Weapons for Genocide. ” They delayed traffic on the busy six-lane roadway into the base by frequently pressing the button to allow pedestrian crossing.  Fliers were handed out to receptive drivers. The flyers asked “Why are we blocking access to Travis Air Base and messing up your day?”.  It was explained that while November 20 is World Children’s Day, weapons to Israel from Travis are being used to kill children. Bombs loaded onto planes at Travis and other US air bases have killed many thousands of children.

David Vidmar grew up on Travis Air Base. He said, “I am participating in the People’s Arms Embargo to honor my father as he would have been sickened by the indiscriminate targeting, slaughter and starvation of Gazan children and women in Israel’s genocide.”

In the second stage of the protest, protesters completely blocked the roadways into the base. Ultimately, they shut down all of the entry points to the base before Fairfield police arrived en masse and arrested those blocking the roadway. A total of 28 persons were arrested for blocking the north, south, and main entry gates to Travis AFB.

Some of  those arrested were processed in a few hours.  Ten persons were still in Solano County Jail six hours after the action. It is not known when they will be released. They include Toby Blome, David Hartsough and others who were organizers of this action.

Many people globally believe the US is violating international law by continuing to provide weapons  for what the International Court of Justice describes as “plausible genocide”.  One year ago many prominent US State Department and USAID officials criticized the Biden policy of blanket support for Israel. Yet it continues unabated.  Today’s action at Travis AFB highlights the discrepancy.
