...Netanyahu approved the deadly exploding pager attacks on the Hezbollah terror group back in September, his office said for the first time Monday.

A spokesperson for Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the Israeli leader gave the signoff after he claimed responsibility for the Sept. 17 massacre during a closed-door cabinet meeting, the Times of Israel reported .

Netanyahu had told ministers that senior defense officials and political figures had tried to oppose the detonation of the thousands of weaponized pagers across Lebanon but that he went ahead with the operation anyway.

Trump announced new major appointments in his future administration.

The Pentagon will be headed by Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran and Fox News host Pete Hegseth, and the CIA will be led by former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.

Two billionaires who supported Trump, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, also received posts. They will jointly lead the new US Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE).

“Together, these two great Americans will pave the way for my administration to eliminate government bureaucracy, reduce excess regulation, reduce wasteful spending and restructure federal agencies, which are essential to the Save America movement,” Trump said in a statement.

Interestingly, the abbreviation of the new department - DOGE - is a reference to the name of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, which is promoted by Elon Musk.

Trump said in a statement that the new entity will "work with the White House and the Office of the Budget to implement large-scale structural reforms."

Ramaswamy was a Republican presidential candidate and during the election campaign he harshly criticized American aid to Ukraine, calling for an end to the war as soon as possible. So does Musk.

Smotrich Says Trump Victory Gives Israel ‘Opportunity’ To Annex West Bank

David Friedman, who may return as Trump's envoy to Israel, published a book calling for the US to fund the Israeli annexation of the West Bank

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Monday that Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election provides an “important opportunity” for Israel to annex settlements in the occupied West Bank.

“The year 2025 will be, with God’s help, the year of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria,” Smotrich said, using the biblical name for the West Bank.

The Israeli minister said he had “no doubt that President Trump, who showed courage and determination in his decisions in the first term, will support the State of Israel in this move.”

Smotrich listed steps Trump took to support Israel during his first term in office, including moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights, and declaring that illegal Israeli settlements were consistent with international law.

Smotrich, a settler himself, also holds a position in the Defense Ministry that puts him in charge of settlement expansion in the West Bank. In that post, Smotrich has overseen significant settlement expansion and the single largest Israeli land grab in the West Bank in 30 years.
