Syrian Troops Foil ISIS Ambush Near US Occupation Base

Moscow and Damascus blame the ISIS resurgence in Syria on US logistical support to extremists in the country

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) repelled an attack by ISIS on one of its checkpoints in the country’s Al-Badia desert region in central Syria’s Homs governorate.

“The army repelled an attempt by ISIS to attack one of its checkpoints in the Badia of Al-Sukhnah, starting from the Al-Tanf area known as the 55-kilometer area,” a Syrian military source told Al Mayadeen.

The ISIS militants were “riding two pickup trucks and three motorcycles … their movement from the Al-Tanf area was monitored before they were confronted,” the source added. It also said Syrian–Russian airstrikes targeted ISIS positions in Al-Sukhna, in the Palmyra desert, and other areas in the Syrian desert.

The 55-kilometer area, from which the source said the attack originated, refers to the geographical surroundings of the US Al-Tanf military base in eastern Syria.

According to numerous reports in the last couple of years, as well Syrian and Russian officials, ISIS and other extremist groups receive training inside the Al-Tanf base, and are given logistical support to carry out hit-and-run attacks against Syrian military forces in the country’s desert region.

The Amsterdam Attack Shows Israelis' Denial of the Reality They Created

An ugly, criminal pogrom against Israeli soccer fans took place in Amsterdam on Thursday. Similar pogroms, carried out by settlers, take place almost daily in the West Bank. The pogroms in Hawara, for example, surpassed in their scope and violence even Holocaust II in Amsterdam. The day after the pogrom in the Netherlands, violent settlers rampaged in Surif; two days before it, they rampaged in Al-Maniya.

While Israelis were being beaten in Amsterdam, in the Gaza Strip dozens of people were killed indiscriminately, including many children, as they are every day. The daily pogroms in the West Bank and of course the war in Gaza were not compared to the Holocaust; the chair of Yad Vashem was not interviewed about them; no rescue force was dispatched to save their victims; Israel's foreign minister and Knesset speaker did not view them as a chance for a photo op. These pogroms happen every day and no one bothers to report most of them to you.

Israel set another record Thursday for the self-victimization it so very much enjoys, and the media set another record for the incitement, exaggeration, fearmongering and, above all, the concealment of information that doesn't fit the narrative, that its consumers enjoy. Amsterdam provided an unmissable opportunity: Once again, Jews are beaten in Europe.

A Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer fan related that just the day before he had visited the Anne Frank House – what a spine-chilling coincidence – and the radio host almost burst into tears. The right-wing, ultranationalist, German Israeli propaganda correspondent in Germany, Antonia Yamin, explained that "Europe does not understand the problem": In the last year, 300 members of a family from Khan Yunis came to Berlin and some of them are already known to the police. Gaza is to blame in Amsterdam, too. Yamin forgot, of course, to mention the hell this family had come from and who created it.

That's how it is when you live in the warm, cozy bubble, completely disconnected from reality, in complete denial, that the Israeli media builds for us: We are always the victims and the only victims; there was a massacre only on October 7; all of Gaza is to blame; all of the Arabs are bloodthirsty; all of Europe is antisemitic. And now for the facts: In Amsterdam, some of the Israeli fans rampaged in the streets even before the pogrom: disgusting, shouted chants of "We'll screw the Arabs" (in Hebrew) and the removal of a Palestinian flag legitimately hanging from the balcony of a building were almost never shown in the Israeli media, which could spoil the image of antisemitism. No one asked the first question that the sight of the violence and hatred in Amsterdam should have raised: Why do they hate us so much? No, it's not because we are Jews.

The ship was previously denied permission to dock by Angola, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Malta

The German-flagged MV Kathrin cargo vessel carrying explosive material for Israel was given permission to dock in Egypt's Port of Alexandria this week after being rejected by several other nations.

According to a filing in a German court of appeals, the vessel carried eight shipping containers holding 150,000 kg of RDX explosives for Israeli Military Industries, the munitions production arm of Elbit Systems.

The Egyptian Marine Consultancy Office (EMCO) was responsible for allowing the ship to dock and reportedly helped unload its cargo, according to information available on the Alexandria Port website.

The ship-tracking website Marine Traffic and the financial data firm LSEG Data & Analytics show that the MV Kathrin docked in Egypt on Monday and is set to depart on 5 November.

“The docking of MV Kathrin at the port of Alexandria raises questions about why Egypt allowed the ship, carrying cargo used in Israeli military manufacturing, to enter its ports,” representatives from the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) NGO told Middle East Eye.

...Netanyahu approved the deadly exploding pager attacks on the Hezbollah terror group back in September, his office said for the first time Monday.

A spokesperson for Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the Israeli leader gave the signoff after he claimed responsibility for the Sept. 17 massacre during a closed-door cabinet meeting, the Times of Israel reported .

Netanyahu had told ministers that senior defense officials and political figures had tried to oppose the detonation of the thousands of weaponized pagers across Lebanon but that he went ahead with the operation anyway.

Israeli Ministers Want Issue Of Captives In Gaza To Be Solved 'Naturally And Tragically': Report

Israeli media says the extremist ministers in Netanyahu's cabinet want the captives held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza to die as a pretext to expand the occupation of Gaza

The Israeli government is waiting and hoping for the captives held by Hamas in Gaza to die while expanding the military occupation of territory in Gaza as part of a broader effort to cleanse the strip of Palestinians and to build Jewish settlements, Yedioth Ahronoth reported on 10 November.

The Hebrew media paper reported that “According to every intelligence report that is submitted to the cabinet ministers, the situation of the dozens of abductees who are still alive in the captivity of Hamas is getting worse from week to week.”

“As long as the negotiations are not restarted, the problem of the abductees will be solved naturally and tragically, according to some right-wing ministers. The resistance of those ministers to release hundreds of terrorists will be redundant,” the paper added.

Since Hamas' Qassam Brigades took around 250 Israeli soldiers and civilians captive on 7 October last year, it has sought to release them in exchange for a ceasefire, the release of thousands of Palestinians held captive in Israeli prisons, and an end to the Israeli siege of Gaza that began in 2007.

However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his fellow ministers, Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, have successfully sabotaged ceasefire negotiations, preferring to extend the war, destroy Gaza, and annex its territory to ultimately build Jewish settlements.

According To Israeli Newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, The Military Is Concerned About A 15% To 25% Decrease In Reservists Showing Up For Duty, That Is Impacting Operational Decision Making.

The Israeli military says the 'no shows' are mainly due to fatigue and the expanding use of the reserve personnel across fronts, which is expected to continue well into the year 2025.

The reservists will have to serve at least 100 days in 2025, roughly a month and a half to two months every four months, in part to compensate for the government's continued allowance of approximately 60,000 ultra-Orthodox Israelis to evade service annually.

Furthermore, a new budget to financially support reservists, that last year totaled about NIS 9 billion ($2.4 billion USD), has yet to be finalized.
