Massacres against civilians are ongoing, with no ambulances or civil defense to help — meaning the majority of those injured in Israel's violent bombing will die. Over 50 Palestinians have been killed in less than 24 hours.
Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, one of the last functioning hospitals in the north, has been raided and shelled, with patients, staff and displaced abducted by invading Israeli forces.
The hospital's medical supplies were deliberately destroyed by forces who stormed the facility. They even destroyed the generators and oxygen stations.
Israeli bulldozers destroyed the hospital pharmacy, and the tents of the displaced.
The UN special rapporteur on health described the systematic attack on the health sector as "medicide."

Microsoft is busy inventing new phrases to make sure that, what the tech giant and its likes consider “inclusivity,” is properly reflected in Microsoft Word.
But at least as far as words, “mother” and “father” are concerned, this inclusivity seems to, paradoxically, work by exclusion.
Gone are the days when Word offered spelling and grammar checks. Now, for people who like their writing software to nudge and prod them during the writing process by suggesting “more suitable” replacements, Word has something called “Inclusivity Checker.”
The repository of terms contained in the tool, that are recommended to be replaced, is only growing.
A modern update takes a dim view of the expression “maternity leave” on “gender-inclusivity” grounds, and suggests that it be replaced with “birth-related leave,” “parental leave,” or “childbirth leave.”

Israeli and US officials say Tel Aviv targeted military sites in Tehran
Israel launched air strikes on the Iranian capital Friday night. While the extent of the damage is unclear, the US is expecting Iran to retaliate.
Iranian media reported that some sites in the capital city of Tehran were targeted. A statement from the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the strikes. “In response to months of continuous attacks … The Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran,” it said.
According to Axios , the US expects Iran will retaliate. “US and Israeli officials believe Iran will respond militarily,” the outlet reported, adding, “but hope it will be limited and allow the two adversaries to break the tit-for-tat cycle.”
However, the White House is concerned that Iran’s response to Israel will lead to a regional war. An official speaking with the Wall Street Journal confirmed that Tel Avi did inform Washington it was preparing to strike Tehran but did not specify how far in advance Israel warned the US of its plans.
The US claimed Israel’s attack on Iran was an act of self-defense. “We understand that Israel is conducting targeted strikes against military targets in Iran as an exercise of self-defense and in response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack against Israel on October 1st.” National Security Council spokesman Sean Savett continued, “We would refer you to the Israeli government for more information on their operation.”

The Babylon Bee Speaks Out After Scoring A Win Against California’s Political Satire Policing
The case emerged from a lawsuit led by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorneys challenging two California laws— AB 2839 and AB 2655 —that set stringent rules on online political speech.
These laws, signed into action by Governor Gavin Newsom, aim to control a wide range of political commentary, including satire and have drawn fire for their ambiguous language, which opens the door for state interference in online discourse. The swift enactment of this legislation triggered emergency appeals from The Babylon Bee, Rickert, and other free speech advocates to put AB 2839 on hold. This law, which forbids “materially deceptive” content about California elections without disclaimers, carries severe consequences, including costly lawsuits.
Jonathan Scruggs, ADF’s Vice President, didn’t hold back his criticism, saying, “California’s war against political memes is censorship, plain and simple. We shouldn’t trust the government to decide what’s true in our online political debates.” He went on to lambaste the attempt to police humor, adding, “Gov. Newsom has no constitutional authority to act as the humor police.”
The legislation gained traction swiftly after Newsom publicly claimed a parody video of Vice President Kamala Harris “should be illegal.” California legislators responded with urgency, ushering these bills through to his desk. Newsom’s signing of the laws on September 17 stirred concern among free speech advocates who argue the state is silencing dissent by regulating which jokes are permissible.
“Our job is hard enough when our jokes keep coming true, as if they were prophecies,” said The Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon. “But it becomes significantly more difficult when self-serving politicians abuse their power to try to control public discourse and clamp down on comedy. Unfortunately for them, the First Amendment secures our right to tell jokes they don’t like.”
In their plea to the court, ADF attorneys contended that the law forces The Babylon Bee and Rickert into compliance with speech they fundamentally reject, stifling their right to freely express their opinions. The vague definitions within the law, they argued, could empower California officials to block content based on political bias.
