Alon-Lee Green: A few hours ago I posted here a video of a severe attack on a boy in Gaza who was bombed by the IDF, after which those who came to his aid were also bombed. Dozens of comments accumulated within an hour: "There are no people in Gaza", "His problem has not been cleared", "Good, More of that please."

We all know it. A deep and scary process that our society is going through, which is more dangerous than any external enemy. A process of loss of red lines, of loss of humanity, of dehumanization of the Palestinians, of boundless rage and intoxication of power.

A process that begins in the highest centers of power - in the government and the Knesset, which is warmly embraced by the media and trickles down to the people. It would not be an exaggeration to assume that with the encouragement of politics and the media, hundreds of thousands of Israelis, if not more, have publicly expressed their support for war crimes, the killing of innocents, the transportation or starvation of human beings in the past year.

And here the question arises, which becomes more and more important with each passing day of this war: what will be left of our society after all this? I have written this several times in the past year: only we will determine what kind of society we will be. And what kind of society will we be if direct calls for genocide are accepted in our politics, in the media and in the public spaces on the street and on the Internet? What kind of society will we be after we accepted with indifference at best the killing of 15 thousand children in Gaza? What kind of society will we be after dozens of our leaders, in the coalition and in the opposition, wrote and said publicly that "there are no innocents in Gaza" and thus gave free rein to more calls for genocide?

It seems that no one in our society, and unfortunately not even in the Jewish opposition, stops and thinks about what will remain here for our children. Is it in our interest to live in such a society? Is it possible to raise girls in such a society? Is there a price for crossing red lines, and if not, then what other lines will be crossed?

It's time to say it clearly: the biggest war going on here is the war on our society. A war about whether we will continue to kill innocents and encourage it with lust or about whether we will draw a red line and realize that we need to heal and fight for our humanity? We must choose because time has already run out.

When I originally saw this genocidal propaganda headline and began to aggregate it to my newswire, I hadn’t even noticed Alan Dershowitz was the co-author until Alan Macleod made a tweet pointing it out: “Just How Many of Jeffrey Epstein’s Closest Associates are Entirely Innocent?

Alan Dershowitz is commonly known as Epstein’s lawyer, Dershowitz is the lawyer that represented Epstein in his infamous “sweet heart” plea deal, which as I describe in my article from January on human trafficking, was given by prosecutor Alexander Acosta because “I Was Told Epstein ‘Belonged to Intelligence’ and to Leave it Alone”. Alexander Acosta would go on to serve as Donald Trump’s Secretary of Labor.

I will return to Dershowitz in a second, but let me first address the article itself.

From my perspective, it is self evident that the desire by zionists to deprive Palestinian civilians of the presumption of innocence is motivated by genocidal ambitions....

Zionists propagandists want to dehumanize the civilian population and garner consent for atrocities committed on them. This recent Dershowitz / NYP op-ed echoed Mark R. Levine’s article published by Town Hall in December: "There Are No 'Innocent Palestinians'"

...This notion that Palestinian civilians aren’t innocent is a dehumanization strategy meant to garner consent and complicity for bombing said civilians, denying them humanitarian aid, etc.

If Hamas bombs Israeli civilians, its terrorist attack.
If the IDF bombs Palestinian Civilians, it is because they aren’t innocent and deserve it.

Israeli Rights Group B’tselem Says Israel Is Carrying Out An Ethnic Cleansing Campaign In Northern Gaza

More than 770 Palestinians have been killed and more than 50,000 have been forcibly displaced since October 5

The Israeli rights group B’Tselem said in a press release on Tuesday that Israel was carrying out an ethnic cleansing campaign in northern Gaza and called on the world to stop it.

“The magnitude of the crimes Israel is currently committing in the northern Gaza Strip in its campaign to empty it of however many residents are left is impossible to describe, not just because hundreds of thousands of people enduring starvation, disease without access to medical care and incessant bombardments and gunfire defies comprehension, but because Israel has cut them off from the world,” the group said.

Israel began its renewed assault on northern Gaza at the beginning of the month and ordered the estimated 300,000 to 400,000 Palestinian civilians living in the area to head south. “Ever since Israel’s current operation in the northern Gaza Strip began on 5 October, the area has been under a near complete siege, relentlessly pummeled by the military,” B’Tselem said.

Gaza’s government media office said Wednesday that at least 770 Palestinians have been killed in northern Gaza in 19 days, dozens more are missing, and over 200 have been “kidnapped” by Israeli forces. According to B’Tselem’s press release, over 50,000 Palestinians have been forced out of their homes.

The Israeli military said on Wednesday that it had forced at least 20,000 Palestinians out of Jabalia, where the assault has been focused, and arrested more than 150.

Israel Carpet Bombs UNESCO World Heritage City In South Lebanon

Tens of thousands of civilians were forced to evacuate Tyre with a few hours notice as the US-backed war against the country intensifies

The Israeli army heavily bombed the southern Lebanese city of Tyre on the morning of 23 October, using so-called “fire belt” bombing to destroy entire residential blocks in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage site.

An as-of-yet-unknown number of buildings have been destroyed in the center of Lebanon’s fifth-largest city.

“Hezbollah’s activity forces the IDF to act in the area you are in. The IDF does not want to harm you,” Israeli Colonel Avichay Adraee, the army’s Arabic-language spokesman, announced via social media on Wednesday morning, alongside a map of the areas Tel Aviv planned to carpet bomb.

“You must immediately move away from the area marked in red and head north to the Awali River. Anyone who is near Hezbollah personnel, facilities and weapons of Hezbollah is putting their life in danger!” Adraee added.

Lebanese civil defense officials told Al Jazeera earlier in the day that “the entire city is being evacuated” in response to the Israeli threats, which amount to turning any area they target into a kill zone.

...“This is only going to add to the pressure on places like Beirut, which doesn’t have any more government shelters. People are sleeping on the streets, on the Corniche along the beach, and living in tents,” the Qatari news outlet’s correspondent in the south of Lebanon reported.

At least 200,000 people inhabited the city of Tyre before the expansion of Israel’s war on Lebanon. The ancient city has been continuously inhabited for more than 4,000 years, also rising to prominence as a key maritime and trade hub in the Mediterranean under different empires.

As the war in Gaza and Lebanon rages, Israel's news broadcasters go morally bankrupt: Palestinian victims and the destruction in Gaza are nonexistent, Arab commentators are excluded, and the army spokesperson has almost absolute control over the coverage

The quote "Truth is the first casualty of war" is often attributed to Hiram Johnson, a U.S. senator during World War I. With the October 7 war, which started with so many casualties, it could have been different.

...A soon-to-be-completed study by political media researcher Dr. Ayala Panievsky – with the support of City University of London and the Molad Center for the Renewal of Israeli Democracy – confirms what we haven't seen in the studios. Panievsky randomly sampled 50 main broadcasts from the first six months of the war on Channel 12 News, the media company with the most viewers.

According to Panievsky, "Of the more than 700 items in the first six months of the war, there were only four mentions of the civilians killed in the Gaza Strip and only two of them included visual images. The most horrible scenes that the world saw 24/7 were hardly seen on Channel 12 News." She believes that the situation on channels 11 and 13 was the same. Channel 12 declined to comment for this article.

Is it possible to cover a war without showing Israelis how civilians on the Palestinian side are affected? "A heartbroken nation is too broken to have a reservoir of empathy for the other, for the enemy," said Channel 12 investigative journalist and anchorwoman Ilana Dayan, an influential liberal voice in Israel. She was speaking with Channel 12 News' chief anchor, Yonit Levi, and British columnist and author Jonathan Freedland in a podcast on the N12 site in December.

The head of the Israel Defense Forces' Spokesperson's Unit, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, has almost absolute control over the Israeli media's coverage of the war. This situation is worsened by the military's preventing of journalists from entering Gaza. TV channels devotedly cover Hagari's press conferences and, as in previous wars, military correspondents have been criticized for allegedly sounding like IDF spokespeople.

..."I was no wiser than anybody," he told the commission. "The relationship between reporters and the IDF, and the fact that we're being called 'IDF spokespeople,' is a question for the media debate and the public debate. Military correspondents, I'm sorry to say, didn't challenge IDF thinking and conceptions enough."

...In August, Yedioth Ahronoth TV critic Einav Schiff hurled an accusation at Channel 12 defense correspondent Nir Dvori. As Schiff put it, "While the hostages were rotting in the tunnels, he was screaming, 'Only military pressure!' And yesterday he was talking about a sense of missed opportunities. Where's the shame?"
