Shin Bet sent out an alert regarding cellphone SIM cards being activated along with a statement saying it is possible that this is some sort of offensive attack operation being carried out by Hamas.

The message was sent to the operations division of the 'National Security Council - the headquarters for issues related to foreign affairs and national security of the prime minister and government'. The organization reports to the government, the Prime Minister, and the police force.

Nothing was done with this information.

In February, it was admitted by the IDF that dozens to hundreds of SIM cards, or some Israeli media reports say around 1000 SIM cards (variations in reporting from Israeli media, IDF had claimed only dozens not hundreds contrary to initial reports), were activated before the attack, which triggered an emergency meeting among defense officials the night before the Oct 7th attack.

This emergency meeting the night before Oct 7th by top Israeli defense officials was a focus of the lawsuit initiated by the Nova Festival survivors against the Israeli state - the first of its kind....

...Shortly after these emergency consultations were initially revealed by Israeli media, the Nova festival survivors sued the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israeli police, seeking damages as a result of their negligence.

...In late February, it was reported that hundreds of Israeli Sim Cards were activated before Oct. 7th, which the Jerusalem Post noted, “could have very well been an indication of a potential invasion.”

These SIM card activations helped trigger a meeting of top defense officials in the early hours of Oct 7th, according to Haaretz. The “emergency consultations” throughout the night of Oct 6th, mentioned earlier in the previous referenced December article, “Israel’s Shin Bet Ignored Crucial Intel Before 7 October”, are referring to the same events.

This relates to the lawsuit against the military, Shin Bet, and Israeli police by the Nova festival survivors, as the “emergency consultations” are part of the lawsuit as referenced above.

Yahya Sinwar Threw Stick at Drone Just Before Death, According to Israel Video

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was tracked by an Israeli mini drone as he lay dying in the ruins of a building in southern Gaza and filmed him slumped in a chair covered in dust, according to video released by Israeli authorities on Thursday.

As the drone hovered nearby, the video showed him throwing a stick at it, in an apparent act of desperation or defiance. Not long afterwards, the military said, a tank shell was fired into the building.

...Intelligence services had been gradually restricting the area where Sinwar could operate, the military said. But unlike other militant leaders tracked down by Israel, including Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on July 13, the encounter which finally killed Sinwar was not a planned and targeted strike, or an operation carried out by elite commandos.

...The troops saw three suspected militants moving between buildings, two of whom were wearing a blanket-like covering, apparently intended to hide their identities as fighters, military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani told reporters.

The troops opened fire, leading to a gunbattle, during which one of the Palestinians was hit in the arm and one Israeli soldier was severely wounded.
As the gunbattle went on, two of the fighters went into one building and the third, who turned out later to be Sinwar, went into another where the drone was sent in to investigate.

Wary of booby traps and with evening closing in, the troops did not enter the building until the next day.

"The morning afterwards, they discovered the body and realised this could be Sinwar," Shoshani s

When the troops reached him, his body was found with a weapon, a flak jacket and 40,000 shekels ($10,731.63) as well as various documents that suggested he was forced to shift location as the Israeli search closed around him.

"He had money on him, documents and he was on the go," Shoshani said.

There Is Good Reason To Believe That Sinwar Was, in Fact, Murdered by the IDF While Rendered 'Hors to Combat'

Rather than celebrating death using inflammatory language of "elimination", Canada should be demanding that Israel comply with an independent investigation into the circumstances of Sinwar's death. 🧵...

Briefly for now: individuals who are rendered 'hors to combat' (no longer in the fight) by virtue of wounding cannot be targeted. To do so is a violation of common article 3 to the 1949 Geneva Conventions and a war crime under the art. 8(2)(c)(i) of the Rome Statute.

The relevant question is whether Sinwar was incapacitated by his wounds such that he was disabled from participating in fighting and no longer posed a threat. This question is easier to answer when fighters are unconscious or on the ground.

A wounded fighter attempting an escape is not hors de combat; this is why Israel claims Sinwar was killed while trying to escape. While he was wounded in a first attack & fled to the building in which he died, the video shows him seated when he was killed.

Of course, it can be difficult to determine whether a fighter has been so seriously wounded that they are no longer capable of taking hostile action. But a judgment must be made; it is impermissible to "double tap" a wounded fighter to ensure they are dead.

On The Facts We Have, Sinwar Was Able To Throw A Stick At The Drone That Captured His Final Moments. The Drone Footage Bleakly Summarizes The Asymmetry Of The Entire Israel-Palestine 'Conflict', With The Stick Standing In For The Ubiquitous Resistance Tool Of Stone Throwing.

I could go on, obviously... the TL;DR is that we just aren't asking questions at all about the legality of how Israel treats wounded Hamas fighters, and this is a major loss for international law. To see figures like Trudeau celebrating this gap is truly frightening.

Hamas is now claiming that Sinwar "met his end standing brave, with his head held high, holding his firearm, firing until the last breath, until the last moment of his life". This doesn't fit well with the video, which doesn't appear to show a gun.

The IDF says Sinwar was 'found with a gun'. Some accounts mention grenades. Reuters describes Sinwar as being killed "as he lay dying in the ruins of a building in south Gaza...slumped in a chair covered in dust." His right hand appears to be missing.

This account by @ julianborger describes the tank round that was directed against Sinwar after the drone withdrew as having the objective of 'making sure he was dead'. This would be 'double tapping', and is illegal.

Borger also notes that an "autopsy recorded he had a bullet wound to the head, raising questions over whether it was tank fire or a shot from an Israeli rifle that ended his life", and introducing inconsistency with the IDF story.

A CNN interview with the pathologist who performed Sinwar's autopsy confirms the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. He arrived at this cause of death before the IDF released its story about what happened, i.e. that tank fire killed him.

A growing number of Israeli soldiers are quietly refusing orders to return to battle in Gaza

After a year of committing genocide in Gaza, more and more Israeli soldiers are quietly refusing orders to return to the strip to fight, saying they are depressed, worn out, psychologically damaged, and unmotivated, according to a report by Ha-Makom magazine published on 20 October.

The ultra-Orthodox-oriented magazine interviewed multiple soldiers and parents of soldiers who refuse to return to Gaza. When a platoon of 30 soldiers of the Nahal Brigade was recently ordered to enter Gaza for the latest of several tours, only six reported for duty.

“I call it refusal and rebellion,” says Inbal, the mother of one of the soldiers in the platoon.

“They return to the same buildings that they cleaned, each time trapping them anew. They have been to Al-Zaytoun neighborhood three times already. They understand that it is futile and pointless.”

Although they had only a fifth of their personnel, the commander still insisted they enter Gaza.

Imagine, For A Moment, A Sequence Of Claims, Each Progressively More Dubious Than The Last.

First, we were told of beheaded babies, which rapidly turned into a headline-grabbing moment of horror. Yet, upon further scrutiny, the story unraveled, as such things often do, when put under the glaring light of inquiry.

Then, the rape manifesto, purportedly from Hamas, was brandished as irrefutable evidence of their monstrosity—until, of course, it was revealed months later to be a forgery. It’s almost as though we’re observing a pattern, wouldn’t you say?

And now, as if we haven’t seen enough, we’re told that the woman captured in an image is carrying a Birkin bag. Because, you see, a fashion statement is somehow pivotal in this geopolitical narrative. But here’s the crux—anyone even marginally acquainted with fashion could tell you at a glance that the bags don’t match. Not even in shape. It’s almost comical, except for the fact that we’re expected to believe it.

This is the hallmark of a system that’s been finely tuned over decades to manipulate public perception—framing narratives, building emotional appeals, and constructing boogeymen from half-truths. Terror tunnels? Bunkers are perfectly acceptable for others, but tunnels, well, those are sinister, aren’t they? Soldiers and weapons in civilian areas? Well, of course, Israel’s open carry practices and Mossad facilities embedded in residential zones are mere necessities, but on the other side, it’s always framed as an ethical abomination.

And this cry of “human shields”? A refrain that’s been wielded so liberally, it’s almost reflexive at this point. Yet, time and again, Israel has been the one facing international condemnation for precisely that tactic.

There’s something chilling, something distinctly Orwellian about watching the same script unfold again and again, only slightly tweaked for new audiences, yet still expecting blind belief. What do you say to that?

Netanyahu's Party Is Clearing The Path To Settling Gaza | Haaretz Editorial

Anyone who thinks the idea of permanently occupying the Gaza Strip and building settlements there is the province of only a few messianists should take a look at who signed the invitation to a conference titled "Preparing for Settlement in Gaza," that is slated to take place on Monday. Effectively, it is signed by the Likud party.

"We are honored to invite you to participate in the 'preparing for settlement in Gaza' event ... and to be hosted in Likud's sukkah," the invitation says. The ruling political party is thereby inviting the general public to a conference that includes building an illegal outpost, as a step toward building a new settlement in northern Gaza. This insanity is part of an initiative led by the Nachala movement, which is known for promoting illegal settlements in the West Bank.

Meta’s Israel Policy Chief Tried To Suppress Pro-Palestinian Instagram Posts

Jordana Cutler, Meta’s policy chief for Israel and the Jewish Diaspora, repeatedly flagged for censorship posts by Students for Justice in Palestine.

A former senior Israeli government official now working as Meta’s Israel policy chief personally pushed for the censorship of Instagram accounts belonging to Students for Justice in Palestine — a group that has played a leading role in organizing campus protests against Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.

Internal policy discussions reviewed by The Intercept show Jordana Cutler, Meta’s Israel & the Jewish Diaspora policy chief, used the company’s content escalation channels to flag for review at least four SJP posts, as well as other content expressing stances contrary to Israel’s foreign policy. When flagging SJP posts, Cutler repeatedly invoked Meta’s Dangerous Organizations and Individuals policy , which bars users from freely discussing a secret list of thousands of blacklisted entities. The Dangerous Organizations policy restricts “glorification” of those on the blacklist, but is supposed to allow for “social and political discourse” and “commentary.”

It’s unclear if Cutler’s attempts to use Meta’s internal censorship system were successful; the company declined to say what ultimately happened to posts that Cutler flagged. It’s not Cutler’s decision whether flagged content is ultimately censored; another team is responsible for moderation decisions. “The suspicious international silence on the occupation’s implementation of the ‘Generals’ Plan’ is an actual participation in the crime, and the international community must take urgent action to stop the ongoing massacres against our people in the northern Gaza Strip.

The ‘Generals’ Plan’ that the occupation government and its terrorist army are trying to implement in the northern Gaza Strip is a recipe for complete genocide, and a criminal forced displacement operation under the pressure of ethnic cleansing, massacres and starvation. The international community’s silence about it, while the occupation continues to implement it, raises big question marks in the face of behavior that amounts to complicity in the crime of the century against civilians, including children, women and the elderly.

For 21 days, the Zionist occupation forces have prevented the entry of any relief supplies, including food, medicine and fuel, into Jabalia Camp and the entire northern Gaza Strip. They have targeted water stations and wells with bombing and destruction, and cut off communications and contact with the outside world, in parallel with ongoing bombing of neighborhoods and homes crowded with residents.

Today, the international community must break out of the circle of silence and inaction, and declare a clear position on this heinous crime, and take the necessary measures to stop it, and hold its perpetrators accountable for their crimes against humanity, and activate the protection tools guaranteed by international law for our Palestinian people, who are facing the brutality and fascism of this criminal occupation.”
