UK: Labour MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy Warns Government Of ‘Criminal Liability’ Over Israel Arms Sales

Labour MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy has warned that the UK government remains in danger of criminal liability over its supply of weapons to Israel .

The backbench MP, considered on the left of the party, made these remarks at a Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) fringe event on Monday evening at the ruling Labour Party’s annual conference in Liverpool.

Ribeiro-Addy also warned that the conflict in the Middle East is widening to southern Lebanon.

“The danger is a regional war,” she said.

The event had already drawn controversy after it was revealed that party managers had prohibited the use of the words “genocide” and “apartheid” in promotional brochures referring to Israel’s campaign against Palestinians.

Jerusalem Post: Moroccan Court To Review Complaint Against ‘Mercenary’ Israeli Soldier for War Crimes

...Moroccan lawyers claimed that during his service in Gaza, the soldier "committed numerous massacres and crimes against humanity."

The lawyers filed the complaint alongside 'evidence,' which included screenshots of Avichzer's social media including, allegedly, his military actions in Gaza.

Rabat's Court of Appeal has agreed to review a complaint brought by Moroccan lawyers against an Israeli soldier for war crimes, according to multiple Moroccan news sites on Thursday.

"The Court of Appeal in Rabat agreed to review the lawsuit after some effort, classifying it under terrorism-related crimes," said Moroccan lawyer Najia El-Hadjaji.

The lawsuit was submitted on July 29.

EU’s Defense Chief Says Europe Must Be Ready To Fight Russia In 6-8 Years

Andrius Kubilius, former prime minister of Lithuania, was appointed as the EU's first defense commissioner

Andrius Kubilius, a former Lithuanian prime minister and the EU’s first defense commissioner, has said Europe must be ready to fight Russia within 6-8 years.

“Defense ministers and NATO generals agree that Vladimir Putin could be ready for confrontation with NATO and the EU in 6-8 years,” Kubilius told Reuters .

“If we take these assessments seriously, then that is the time for us to properly prepare, and it is a short one. This means we have to take quick decisions, and ambitious decisions,” he added.

NATO has been preparing for a future war with Russia despite the risk of the conflict quickly turning nuclear. The EU has little impact on military policy since individual EU members are responsible for their own defense, but the appointment of Kubilius shows the bloc is looking to increase its involvement in war planning.

“The European Union won’t have defense plans or military leadership, like NATO does — but the European Union has instruments to get larger financing, which NATO doesn’t,” Kubilius said.

PM Said To Exclude Gallant From Recent Security Consultations He Held With Ministers — Times of Israel

Israeli TV says Netanyahu has convened ad-hoc forum 3 times in past week, with exclusion of defense minister seen as ‘political hazing’ in wake of reports he is set to be ousted

..... Reports have indicated that Netanyahu remains determined to fire Gallant in the near future, with Foreign Minister Katz and Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter, a former Shin Bet head, seen as possible candidates to replace him.

Relations between Gallant and Netanyahu have been tense ever since Netanyahu announced he was firing Gallant in March 2023 over his criticism of the judicial overhaul. But he soon walked back the move under intense public pressure.

US Gives Israel $8.7 Billion In Military Aid For Operations In Gaza And Lebanon

The new aid comes as the US claims it's pushing for a ceasefire in Lebanon

On Thursday, the Israeli Defense Ministry announced that it secured $8.7 billion in military aid from the US to support its “ongoing military efforts,” meaning the genocidal slaughter in Gaza and Israel’s dramatic escalation in Lebanon.

The ministry said in a statement that its director-general, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, concluded negotiations in Washington to secure the military aid. It said the package includes $3.5 billion for “essential wartime procurement” that has already been sent to Israel and a $5.2 billion grant for air defenses....

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin vowed Thursday that the US would continue arming Israel and brushed off the idea of the US setting red lines. “We’ve been committed from the very beginning to help Israel, provide the things that are necessary for them to be able to protect their sovereign territory and that hasn’t changed and won’t change in the future,” he said.

So far, the US has not announced the details of the $8.7 billion weapons package, but the funds are likely being pulled from the $17 billion in new military aid for Israel that was included in the $95 billion foreign military aid bill President Biden signed into law back in April. Israel also receives $3.8 billion from the US in annual military aid.

News of the new US support for Israel comes as the Biden administration claims it’s pushing for a ceasefire in Lebanon. But the US has not altered its support of full-throated support for Israel, and the military aid and pledges to defend Israel if the situation escalates have only emboldened Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who rejected the US calls for a truce on Thursday.

Federal Judge Rules Fluoride is a Neurotoxin in Historic Lawsuit

On Tuesday a federal court in California found that fluoridation of water at 0.7 milligram per liter “poses an unreasonable risk of reduced IQ in children”.

The new ruling issued by Judge Edward Chen noted that the finding does not “conclude with certainty” that fluoridated water is “injurious to public health” but does find there is “an unreasonable risk of such injury”. This risk is sufficient to require the EPA to enact a regulatory response, Chen wrote.

History has been made. After 7 years of pursuing legal action against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over the risk posed to the developing brain by the practice of water fluoridation, the United States District Court of the Northern District of California has just ruled on behalf of the Fluoride Action Network and the plaintiffs in our precedent-setting court case. A U.S. federal court has now deemed fluoridation an “unreasonable risk” to the health of children, and the EPA will be forced to regulate it as such. The decision is written very strongly in our favor.

Below is an excerpt from the introduction of the ruling:

“The issue before this Court is whether the Plaintiffs have established by a preponderance of the evidence that the fluoridation of drinking water at levels typical in the United States poses an unreasonable risk of injury to health of the public within the meaning of Amended TSCA. For the reasons set forth below, the Court so finds. Specifically, the Court finds that fluoridation of water at 0.7 milligrams per liter (“mg/L”) – the level presently considered “optimal” in the United States – poses an unreasonable risk of reduced IQ in children..the Court finds there is an unreasonable risk of such injury, a risk sufficient to require the EPA to engage with a regulatory response…One thing the EPA cannot do, however, in the face of this Court’s finding, is to ignore that risk.”

Big Tech-Government Collusion: Biden-Haris Admin, Meta, Google, And Others Launch AI Partnership To Combat “Disinformation” And “Hate Speech”

The current US White House seems to be exploring every possibility that might secure another avenue for what opponents (and quite a few lawmakers) refer to as “collusion” with (Big) Tech.

A new scheme has just been announced, that revolves around the “AI” and “disinformation” buzzwords, and includes the US State Department, Meta, Anthropic, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Nvidia, and OpenAI.

Looks like quite an “ensemble cast” – or “usual suspects” – right there.

It’s called, Partnership for Global Inclusivity on AI, and it was announced by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken along with a decision to bankroll programs “identifying disinformation using AI” with $3 million.

We obtained a copy of the report for you here.

Those are expected to point to whatever is considered “mis/disinformation” but also, “prevent online hate from spreading to offline violence for members of religious minority communities.”

Not for nothing, the “partnership” was announced in New York City, and on the sidelines of the ongoing annual UN General Assembly meetings, which have already produced some controversial decisions.

Here, according to an official press release, Blinken was launching this, and other initiatives “to harness the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) to advance sustainable development globally.”

...he told the world that the tech companies would “commit” over $100 million of their own “to unlock AI’s potential as a powerful tool for sustainable development and improved quality of life in developing countries while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety, security, and trustworthiness in AI systems.”

This statement itself reads like it was generated by, say, ChatGPT – but, fear not, because there is real intent behind vacuous platitudes.

They rear their head in the two reports announced at the same time – The Global AI Research Agenda, and, The AI in Global Development Playbook.

It’s about what your democracy-loving ancestors would warn you about, without ever knowing about AI, but fully aware of what governments can and will do: censorship (this time around centered around “AI”) introducing “AI” stamps that can be turned into flagging memes (satire) at the drop of a dime.

The second report has more to do with the current White House getting all its ducks in a row (some call it, “collusion”) in this campaign.

“Whole-of-government-governance and oversight frameworks that specifically address the misuse of AI technologies,” is what’s cited in the report, as well as private companies supporting “exchanges of information between government officials, policymakers, workers and their organizations and other stakeholders to voice concerns around how AI is designed"....

Saudi-Owned Al-Arabiya In Bed With Israeli Army To 'Shape Gaza Coverage': Report

Hebrew media reports that the Israeli army provides the Saudi news channel with breaking news details in exchange for favorable coverage of Israel amid its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza

Israel's Hebrew language public broadcaster, Kan, reported that the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya satellite news channel is directly cooperating with the Israeli army. The channel receives exclusive information in exchange for presenting a positive image of the Israeli army to its viewers in the Arab world.

Al-Arabiya was founded in March 2003, just as the US war on Iraq began, by the brother-in-law of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd, with additional investment from Lebanon's Hariri Group and investors from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other Gulf countries.

Kan reports that Al-Arabiya's pro-Israel bias is evident in the headlines and breaking news content broadcast by the channel.

When Israel assassinated Khalil al-Maqdah, a commander in the armed wing of the Palestinian faction Fatah, in a strike on his car in Lebanon on 22 August, Al-Arabiya reported he was the target of the strike even before those on the ground could identify him. This is only possible if the Israeli military provided information to the Saudi channel.

Kan reports further that Al-Arabiya's cooperation with the Israeli army is also evident in the expressions that are and are not used when reporting on the war on Gaza...

While Al-Arabiya's the coverage of the war may seem similar to other Arabic outlets, there are important subtle distinctions in the descriptions used by Al-Arabiya to favor Israel....

In August, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz also reported on the pro-Israel bias of Al-Arabiya. The paper notes that the channel gave a platform to Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari to smear the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, to its viewers in June...

Haaretz adds that Al-Arabiya also stood out for its "sympathetic coverage" of Israel's Abraham Accords, signed with the UAE and Bahrain in 2020. The network even broadcast footage from the Knesset at the time of their signing.

The Israeli paper quoted Orit Perlov, a researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and a former adviser in the US State Department, who said, "Israel, for its part, cooperates and conveys messages to the channel."

In July, Qatar-owned The New Arab reported that Palestinians were angered by the coverage of an Israeli massacre in Gaza's Al-Mawasi camp due to its bias toward Israel.

Israeli strikes killed at least 90 people in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, which the army had previously designated as a "safe zone" for Palestinian civilians.

... news headlines published by Al-Arabiya about the massacre on its website did not mention the Palestinian death toll, but instead focused on Israel's claim that the strike targeted the leader of Hamas' armed wing, Mohammed Deif.

The channel also allegedly only covered Israel's claims about the attack and initially did not broadcast or publish Hamas's rebuttals, let alone the testimonies of Palestinians affected by the attack.

Biden Claims He’s Working For Peace In The Middle East But Continues To Back Israel

Biden made the claim in a speech at the UN General Assembly

President Biden delivered a speech to the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday and claimed that he was working to bring a “greater measure of peace and stability to the Middle East” even though his administration continues to provide full-throated support for Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza and its escalations in Lebanon.

Biden acknowledged that “innocent civilians” in Gaza are “going through hell,” a situation he helped create by providing a constant flow of weapons to Israel since October 7, 2023. An Israeli Air Force official recently said that without US support, Israel could only sustain military operations in Gaza for a few months.

The president said it was time for Hamas and Israel to finalize the terms of a hostage and ceasefire deal, but US officials have admitted that there’s no chance of an agreement before Biden’s term ends on January 20, 2025. Biden could force Israel to accept a deal by withholding military aid, but there’s no sign he’s willing to take that step.

Discussing the situation between Israel and Hezbollah, Biden said, “Full-scale war is not in anyone’s interest. Even as the situation has escalated, a diplomatic solution is still possible.” His comments came a day after Israel launched a massive bombardment against southern and eastern Lebanon, killing over 500 people, mostly civilians .

Biden claimed that his administration is “working tirelessly” to achieve a diplomatic solution between Israel and Hezbollah. But the US backed the latest Israeli escalation and is deploying more troops to the Middle East as a show of support. US military aid and promises to defend Israel in the event of a major regional war have emboldened Israel to escalate in Lebanon and elsewhere in the Middle East.

Arab States Warn Israel ‘Pushing For All-Out War’ As Tel Aviv Widens Attack On Lebanon

Civilians continue to fall victim to brutal Israeli attacks across Lebanon, as displaced families are making their way toward Beirut and Syria

Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq warned in a joint statement on 25 September that Israel is “pushing” the region into a state of all-out war.

The joint statement was made on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

“Israel is pushing the region into a comprehensive war,” the foreign ministers of the three Arab states said, condemning the ongoing Israeli attacks across Lebanon and calling on “the international community and the Security Council to assume their relevant responsibilities to stop the war.”

Stopping this “dangerous escalation underway in the region” must begin “by halting Israel’s aggression in Gaza,” they added.

Iraqi and Jordanian aid recently arrived in Lebanon following Tel Aviv's pager terror attack, with Baghdad even announcing plans to establish a land bridge for humanitarian support to the country following Israel's massive escalation and nationwide aerial assault, which began on Sunday.

Over 70 Massacred Overnight By Israeli Warplanes In Lebanon'S Bekaa And South [9/26]

The US, France, and other western and Arab states are calling for a ceasefire amid Israel's escalation of its war on Lebanon

The Israeli air force has carried out several massacres in the Bekaa Valley and southern regions of Lebanon overnight, killing at least 70 people, Al Mayadeen reported on 26 September.

Israeli warplanes carried out 60 raids across several Lebanese towns in the eastern Bekaa region of the country during the night hours.

An Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that 32 Syrian workers, including children, were killed in an Israeli strike on the town of Younin in northern Bekaa Wednesday night.

The Israeli raid targeted a building rented by the Syrian workers on the international road near a gas station.

The mayor of Younin, Ali Qassas, confirmed that “23 martyrs of Syrian nationality were recovered, and eight wounded, including four Lebanese, with minor injuries,” adding, “The teams were able to remove the rubble left behind by the previous raids from the roads.”
