Even a former Mossad Chief attended the Israeli protest, taking aim at Netanyahu, and his political motives for failing to reach a deal with Hamas for the return of the hostages.
....Former Mossad Chief Danny Yatom said during the demonstration that Netanyahu was seeking to keep the war in Gaza going because "it seems to him that as long as the guns are roaring, it is easier for him to 'dissolve' his criminal trial," and that freeing the captives was not a priority for the prime minister...
....Israeli defense minister Gallant, who is seen as a political rival of Netanyahu alongside Gantz, at this time in April called for a Hostage deal to be made. Gantz was one of the officials identified by Haaretz having “increasingly believed that Netanyahu didn’t consider the return of the hostages the main mission in the war”...
A hostage deal did not pan out.
After all, Netanyahu has been sabotaging all Hostage negotiations.
....The same day the Hostage Families account made its debut on twitter, on June 4th, Mediate ran the headline: "Biden Implies Netanyahu Is Prolonging Israel-Hamas War For His Own Political Gain".
This implication by Biden echoed what many Israelis have been saying, including a former Mossad Chief as discussed earlier in the article: Netanyahu is prolonging the war for his own political agenda (implication is against the best interests of Israelis)
From my observations, the protests by the Israeli families have gotten very little attention in American media, and in discussion by Americans. I think this is by design.
If the Israeli protests were front and center... I think there would be much more hesitation to support Netanyahu & Co, even amongst those who fashion themselves pro-Israel. More may see that Netanyahu and Israel's far right are leading Israel off a cliff
I think that many of those in America blindly in support of Netanyahu and the ruling government would potentially see things differently if they understood the opposition to Israeli leadership is being led by Israel families, and why that is happening..
Again, it is easy for the people on the right, lost in cultural conditioning and partisan expectations, to dismiss college protestors calling for a ceasefire as “blue haired marxist Hamas supporters”, but it would not be so easy to dismiss the family members of the victims of Oct 7th as Hamas.. Not that Netanyahu’s allies in the Likud party haven’t tried.

A Rare Polar Bear Showed Up On The Shores Of Iceland. Police Shot It
(AP) — A rare polar bear that was spotted outside a cottage in a remote village in Iceland was shot by police after being considered a threat, authorities said Friday.
The bear was killed Thursday afternoon in the northwest of Iceland after police consulted the Environment Agency, which declined to have the animal relocated, Westfjords Police Chief Helgi Jensson told The Associated Press.
“It’s not something we like to do,” Jensson said. “In this case, as you can see in the picture, the bear was very close to a summer house. There was an old woman in there.”
The owner, who was alone, was frightened and locked herself upstairs as the bear rummaged through her garbage, Jensson said. She contacted her daughter in Reykjavik, the nation’s capital, by satellite link, and called for help.

Hezbollah Strikes Deepest Israeli Targets Since 2006
The Lebanese resistance struck the Ramat David airbase twice before launching an attack on a Rafael military-industry complex
Hezbollah launched on 22 September its initial retaliation to the Israeli terror attacks carried against Lebanon over the week, striking targets deep inside Israel.
“In an initial response to the brutal massacre committed by the Israeli enemy in various Lebanese regions on Tuesday and Wednesday (the Pager and wireless devices massacre), we bombed the military industries complexes of the Rafael Company, which specializes in electronic means and equipment, located in the Zevulun area north of Haifa, with dozens of Fadi 1, Fadi 2, and Katyusha missiles, at 6:30 am on this Sunday morning, September 22, 2024,” Hezbollah said early Sunday.
The initial response came shortly after Hezbollah announced two operations targeting the Ramat David Military Airport southeast of Haifa, which houses air force squadrons and fighter jets. Ramat David airbase is the only airbase in the north and is used for Israeli aerial operations against Lebanon. It is also considered one of the largest.
“In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their valiant and honorable resistance, the Islamic Resistance targeted the Ramat David base and airport for the second time on Sunday, 9-22-2024, with dozens of Fadi 1 and Fadi 2 missiles, in response to the repeated Israeli attacks that targeted various Lebanese regions and led to the fall of many civilian martyrs,” Hezbollah said in its second statement.
The airbase is one of the targets featured in one of Hezbollah's Hudhud (Hoopoe videos) released in July. In that episode, the identity of the base's commander was revealed.

Over 60 airstrikes targeted various areas in the south of Lebanon and the country’s eastern Beqaa region after Hezbollah struck sensitive sites deep inside Israel
The Israeli army carried out dozens of airstrikes on Lebanon on 22 September, following Hezbollah’s operations targeting a major airbase and military-industrial complex near the city of Haifa that morning.
“Fighter jets, under the direction of the Amman and the Northern Command, attacked dozens of targets, including launchers and military structures of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, in several areas in southern Lebanon this morning,” the Israeli air force said via X on Sunday morning, releasing footage of attacks.
An Israeli army spokesman said jets attacked “launchers and military structures” belonging to Hezbollah during the night.
Israel also attacked a number of areas in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, according to Al Manar’s correspondent.
The strikes targeted areas between the towns of Al-Maaliya and Al-Malikiya, Zebqin towards Sheheen, Wadi Hassan on the outskirts of Majdal Zun, and the outskirts of the town of Yater, Al Manar said.

Israeli Hospitals Move Underground, Schools Close As Hezbollah Strikes Deepen
On Sunday, Hezbollah hit the Ramat David airbase, located over 50 kilometers away from the border
Northern Israeli Hospitals have moved to emergency protocols, and schools have been closed amid Hezbollah’s heavy rocket barrages and speculation that a wider war with the Lebanese resistance movement may erupt, Israeli media reported on 22 September.
Yedioth Ahronoth reported Sunday that Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa and Emek Medical Center in Afula have canceled all elective procedures and non-urgent surgeries, while outpatient clinics have been suspended until further notice.
The hospital has also closed its public underground parking lot to prepare for operating wards in its underground complex.
Northern hospitals have stockpiling supplies and medicines for a “deserted island” scenario, where they would need to operate independently without external support.
Health Ministry Director-General Moshe Bar-Siman-Tov discussed the preparations last week, saying: “In war, unexpected things will happen. Hospitals may find themselves isolated and will have to make their own decisions. We will support them with manpower and equipment, but we are entering uncharted territory.”
