Binance and its chief executive Changpeng Zhao pleaded guilty to criminal charges for anti-money laundering and violations of US sanctions under a sweeping deal with the US Department of Justice. The deal, which will allow the company to continue to operate, will also see Zhao step down as CEO. Binance will pay a $4.3 billion fine.

As well as leaving his role as CEO, Zhao will also pay a $50 million fine as part of the settlement. He appeared earlier today in court in Seattle to plead guilty and faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Ukraine Will Spiral Into WWIII If We Don’t Stop Russia Here: Zelensky

Russia’s bloodbath in Ukraine could spiral into World War III, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned Sunday.

He accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of “lighting fires” around the globe that risk spiraling out of control — and said the Oct. 7 attack carnage unleashed in Israel by Hamas terrorists October was a “really big wish” of Moscow’s.

And he also accused the Kremlin of stirring up trouble in the Balkans.

He said: “We think that they are preparing now in the Balkans, they are doing new steps,” Zelensky said. “And we think that they are trying to train or even training some people.”

“The idea is to begin one conflict and they don’t manage it, don’t try to stop it.”

Speaking from his office in Kyiv, Zelensky warned: “Ukraine today is in the center of these global risks of this Third World War."

And he highlighted Moscow’s ties with Hamas’ backers in Iran, which, Iran has boosted Russia’s war effort by supplying deadly kamikaze drones.

Up to 600,000 people have been killed or injured in Ukraine – most of them Russian soldiers – since Putin launched his full scale invasion on Feb. 24 last year.

Zelensky admitted Ukraine’s fight back this year had not gone as well as he hoped.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called on the BRICS nations to designate the Israeli government and its military as terrorist organizations over their alleged war crimes against the Palestinians. He submitted the request to the group’s online Extraordinary Joint Meeting on the Middle East Situation in Gaza on Tuesday.

Iran, which officially becomes a member of BRICS in January, had requested the emergency summit to discuss Israel’s war in Gaza. Raisi urged members to use their influence to break Israel’s “siege” of Gaza and ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid.

“It is necessary that this fake regime be recognized as a terrorist regime and its army be regarded as a terrorist organization,” he said, imploring the bloc’s members to recognize the Palestinian state’s right to self-defense while cutting ties with West Jerusalem.

Javier Milei And The New Libertarian Revolution In Argentina

On November 19, Argentina faced one of the most important elections since the return of democracy in 1983 exactly 40 years ago. The pro-life libertarian underdog candidate Javier Milei and his party “La Libertad Avanza” won the presidential run-off with a landslide victory, a 12% margin over the leftist Peronist former Minister of Economy Sergio Massa: 56% versus 44%. The two candidates campaigned for each vote in one of the most polarized and ideologized campaigns ever.

During the first electoral round, held on October 22, the ruling party candidate Massa unexpectedly reached 36.7% while Milei received just 30%. This was an election between freedom against the Hobbes' Leviathan idea embraced by Peronism, as well as all the majority of the leftist governments in Ibero-America.

Milei’s victory represented a historical change for a country run by Peronists for more than 45 years. The model of decadence has come to an end. Argentina will return to its place in the world that it should never have lost. We are going to work shoulder-to-shoulder with all the nations of the free world, to help build a better world. Our key words are limited government, respect of property rights and free trade.”

In fact, this is the victory of the majority of Argentinians tired of the permanent economic stagnation and fed up with bureaucratic leftist welfarism that dragged 40% of Argentinians under the poverty line including 56% of children.

Javier Milei has shaken Argentinian politics since he announced to run for president in 2020. Milei, an entrepreneur, former TV pundit and academic economist and self-proclaimed anarcho-libertarian was able to brand himself as the last hope against the corrupted “Kirchnerism” establishment elite that have run the country for the last 20 years.

Al-Mayadeen Journalists Killed By Israel In Southern Lebanon

Over the past several weeks, Israeli jet have indiscriminately targeted reporters, civilian homes, and even an army base in southern Lebanon

Two journalists and an elderly woman were killed during Israeli airstrikes on 21 November in southern Lebanon.

“We mourn our colleagues, reporter Farah Omar and photographer Rabih Al-Maamari, who were just killed in an Israeli bombardment in southern Lebanon,” Al-Mayadeen reported on Tuesday morning.

According to the Lebanese news outlet, the journalists were deliberately targeted by Israel after finishing their live broadcast.

Their murder happened just hours after Laiqa Sarhan, 80, was killed by an Israeli airstrike on a civilian home in the southern Lebanese town of Kfarkela.

‘Unprecedented Fiasco’: Israeli Writer Condemns Oct 7 Security Failure

Gideon Levy, a columnist at Haaretz, called the security failure on October 7 “an unprecedented fiasco”.

The comments come after Haaretz.com reported that an Israeli military helicopter responding to the Hamas attack at a music festival may have shot civilians.

“I don’t think a serious investigation is taking place. There are so many things to be investigated. So many question marks, so many mysteries. Unprecedented behaviour of the army, of the police, everyone,” Levy told Al Jazeera.

IMF Considering Altering Loan To Crisis-hit Egypt

The Egyptian economy has continued to plummet in the wake of Al-Aqsa Flood

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is reportedly “seriously considering” increasing its loans to Egypt due to its deep economic crisis, Reuters reported on 17 November.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva told Reuters on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in San Francisco that the organization might have to augment the load due to economic devastation caused by the war between Palestinian resistance factions and Israel.

“The conflict is devastating Gaza's population and economy and has severe impacts on the West Bank's economy and is also posing difficulties for neighboring countries Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan through the loss of tourism and higher energy costs,” Georgieva told Reuters.

Most New Cars Sold In UK Will Have To Be Fully Electric By 2030, Government Confirms

The government has confirmed the majority of new cars sold in Britain will have to be electric by 2030 despite Rishi Sunak’s decision last week to delay a ban on petrol and diesel cars by five years.

Under the long-awaited zero emissions vehicle (ZEV) mandate, 80% of sales must be fully electric, or another alternative, within seven years. Carmakers would have to pay £15,000 for each petrol or diesel engine above that threshold, the Department for Transport said on Thursday.

The announcement broadly confirms proposals in March, modelled on moves in California, which will force manufacturers to rapidly increase the proportion of battery electric cars produced.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul Announces Plans to Implement Pre-Crime Surveillance, Target Online “Hate”

Expanding the scope of a surveillance unit that was established after the 2022 Buffalo mass shooting.

In a press conference today, New York Governor Kathy Hochul outlined her administration’s aggressive new strategy for combating online “hate” and implementing pre-crime-esque online surveillance.

As part of this approach, New York’s Threat Assessment and Management Teams (TAM teams), which were established in August 2022 in response to the Buffalo mass shooting, will extend their efforts and start targeting speech surrounding the conflict in the Middle East, with a focus on preventing crimes before they occur. TAM teams will be given an additional $3 million investment for their implementation across New York State college campuses.

“We’re creating strategies, first time ever, to help identify hate at the source and prevent crimes before they occur,” Hochul said.

The TAM teams, primarily focused on tracking and stopping violent acts of hate, work in collaboration with mental health professionals. They establish reporting systems for red flags and provide training to identify early warning signs of radicalization. This initiative, while seemingly noble in its intent to protect New Yorkers, raises significant privacy and First Amendment concerns.
