An underground bunker in Jerusalem where senior leaders can remain for an extended period during a war has been prepared by the Shin Bet security service, the Walla news site reports.

Israeli defense chiefs believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not interested in a hostage deal/cease-fire with Hamas, a senior member of the Israeli negotiating team told Haaretz on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, Israel's Channel 12 reported on a tense exchange between Netanyahu and the defense chiefs, in which Shin Bet head Ronen Bar said, "It feels like the prime minister doesn't want the framework that's on the table ." Turning to Netanyahu, he added that if that is the case, "you should tell us."
The report also quoted the head of the Missing and Captive Soldiers Division in the IDF, Maj. Gen. (res.) Nitzan Alon , who told Netanyahu: "You know that all the parameters you've added [to the framework] will not be accepted and there will be no deal."
Mossad chief David Barnea stressed to Netanyahu, "There is a deal on the table. If we delay, we could miss the opportunity. We have to take it."
Netanyahu, per the report, reacted angrily, accusing the defense chiefs of being "soft."

UK PM Keir Starmer Uses Riots To Call For Mass Surveillance and Social Media Censorship
The more things change, the more they remain the same, at least in the UK; after many years of Tory governments’ vigorous efforts to extend mass surveillance indiscriminately targeting citizens and enact stringent anti-free speech laws, the new Labour government seems to be picking up right where the previous one left off.
The wake of the Southport riots has elicited the usual medley of reactions: moves to address societal issues with more surveillance, strengthen the police state, blame “misinformation” and unproven, but always handy to bring up, “foreign meddling.”
But the real malady seems to be squarely at home: in fact, in the prime minister’s office. Keir Starmer happens to be sitting there now, but the policy hardly ever changes: he, too, wants more mass surveillance based on facial recognition, and more pressure on social media to ramp up censorship.
If anything does change it is the intensity of these demands that have long since been rejected as “Orwellian” by rights groups like Big Brother Watch.
Here, Starmer told a news conference called after the events branded as far-right riots, that participants in the protests (whom he called “thugs” and compared with football hooligans) are “mobile” and for that reason, police forces will, going forward, be a part of a network of sorts.
The prime minister added that there will be intelligence and data sharing, as well as “wider deployment of facial recognition technology, and preventative action, criminal behavior orders to restrict their movements before they can even board a train, in just the same way that we do with football hooligans.”

Zelensky Confirms F-16s Are in Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Sunday that F-16s had arrived in Ukraine. A US official said only a limited number of the warplanes are in Ukraine currently, adding the fighters are not flying combat operations.
In a statement posted to X, Zelensky wrote, “F-16s in Ukraine. We ensured this.” He added that Ukrainian pilots “have already started using them for our country.”
A US official insisted the operations were not combat missions . “About a half-dozen pilots were conducting test flights on as many jets in “uncontested” Ukrainian airspace,” The New York Times reported the unnamed official said.
...In the opening months of the conflict, President Joe Biden said that sending advanced American weapons would provoke a major war between Russia and NATO. Over the past two years, Biden has walked away from that pledge by sending F-16s, Abrams tanks, and long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Israel is preparing for the possibility of Iran and Hezbollah launching a multi-day attack on Israeli territory in response to the assassinations of Hamas’s political chief in Tehran and a top Hezbollah commander in Beirut, NBC News reported on Sunday.
Iran launched its first-ever direct attack on Israel in April in response to the Israeli bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, but US and Israeli officials expect this attack to be bigger. “They’ll just try to wear us out,” one Israeli official told NBC .
Al Mayadeen , a Lebanese news outlet, reported that the Israeli assassination of Ismail Haniyeh on Iranian territory crossed a “red line” and that Iran would reciprocate . “Iran will respond in a way that crosses the red lines set by the Israeli occupation,” an Iranian source told Al Mayadeen .
The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran told Arab diplomats it didn’t care if its response to Israel triggered a war.
Gen. Michael Kurilla, the head of US Central Command, is in the Middle East helping Israel prepare for the Iranian attack , which US and Israeli officials believe could happen as soon as Monday. President Biden has pledged the US will help defend Israel, and the Pentagon announced it was deploying more military capabilities to the region for that purpose.
