Adina Moshe, a former Hamas hostage, said Friday that Chaim Peri, whose death in captivity was confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces last month, told her while they were held in a Gaza tunnel that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would not act to release them because they were on the left side of the political spectrum.
Speaking on Channel 12, Moshe, who was released during a truce between Israel and Hamas in November after spending 50 days in captivity, spoke of her experiences in Gaza.
Asked whether she believed at the time that Netanyahu was doing everything in his power to release the hostages, Moshe said, “For three days, only for the first three days out of the 50.
“One of the [Hamas members] would come and tell us ‘in another day or two’ you’re going home. It was obvious to us that that’s what had to happen. The next day, he would come and say ‘another day or two.’ I said alright, I need to get ready. On the third day, when he came and said the same thing, I said ‘enough, this will take at least two months,’ she said.
Moshe then told her that she argued with Peri, who told her that they would not be a priority for the premier and that they could be held in Gaza for years.
“Chaim Peri told me it would take two years. I told him ‘Why are you so pessimistic?’ We even argued. I told him ‘We have a country.’ He said, ‘We have Bibi, and we’re leftists.’ I told him, ‘I’m not a leftist. What does that have to do with anything? I’ve voted center my whole life.’ He answered ‘But you’re from Nir Oz.’ I told him, ‘Nir Oz also has Likud supporters.’,,,

Moshe said that the prime minister had not spoken with her since her release, and noted that he still has not met with the Nir Oz community or visited the kibbutz.
“I don’t know why [Netanyahu] hasn’t visited Nir Oz, and I don’t want to blame him for not visiting. But he’s busy, busy with yapping,” said a clearly emotional Moshe.
Asked about what she thinks when she hears the term “reckless deal” for the release of hostages, Moshe said that when demonstrating with other former captives, a man yelled that they were “whores” who should have been left in Gaza.
“When we stand at the Kiryat Gat interchange, the hostages who returned from captivity, holding a sign saying ‘Deal Now,’ a driver came by, sticks up his middle finger and tells us, ‘Whores, it’s a shame they freed you,' ” she said, clearly still shaken.
“I believed I wouldn’t respond to these things, but when someone comes and makes such a gesture at women, so this is ‘unity?’ Where’s the unity?” she asked.

Adina Moshe, a former Hamas hostage, said Friday that Chaim Peri, whose death in captivity was confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces last month, told her while they were held in a Gaza tunnel that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would not act to release them because they were on the left side of the political spectrum.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has delayed the evacuation of 150 sick and wounded Palestinian children from Gaza to the UAE, Israeli media reported on Sunday.
A source told Haaretz that Netanyahu made the decision in response to the killing of 12 Arab Druze children in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Israel blamed the massacre on Hezbollah, while Hezbollah denied the accusation and said the children were hit with an Israeli air defense rocket.
Netanyahu’s decision to punish the sick and wounded children was denounced by the group Physicians for Human Rights, which called the move a “cruel game by the Israeli government with children’s lives.”
Last week, Haaretz reported that Netanyahu instructed his government to arrange transport of sick and wounded Palestinians from Gaza to a third country for treatment. The first plane was due to take off on Monday, but the flight has been canceled.
Netanyahu also previously canceled a plan to set up a field inside Israel to treat Gaza’s children. Some children have been evacuated through Egypt for medical care, but the Israeli capture of the Rafah border crossing on May 7 cut off that vital lifeline.
Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza has been a war on children, who make up about half of the Gaza Strip’s population. According to Gaza’s Media Office, 16,000 Palestinian children have been killed by the Israeli assault, and about 38,000 have been wounded.

The internet is currently up in arms over the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games allegedly mocking Christianity and the Last Supper. I am here to report that that is outright misinformation.
As pointed out by many social media users on the night of the event, those who study ancient Greek history would be able to recognize that the ceremony was depicting an ancient Greek bacchanalia, a celebration of the god of wine and revelry Dionysus.

Malaysia has applied for the membership of the BRICS, a group of emerging economies, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Sunday.
He made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Anwar received Lavrov at the Seri Perdana, the prime minister's office, in Putrajaya. Lavrov is on a two-day visit to Malaysia.
"Our discussions primarily centered on Malaysia’s recent application for membership in the BRICS alliance, which Russia currently chairs," Anwar said.
He added: "This potential membership holds substantial promise for both nations and underscores our commitment to fostering robust international collaboration."
“We also explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on strengthening ties in key areas such as investment and trade, science and technology, agriculture, defense and military, education, and tourism and culture."
Anwar had confirmed Malaysia’s intention to join BRICS to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva last month.
BRICS includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. In January, it welcomed Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the UAE as full members.
The two leaders also discussed the ongoing situation in Palestine.

Erdogan Says Turkey Could ‘Enter’ Israel Like It Did In Libya And Nagorno-Karabakh
Israel's foreign minister responded by threatening Erdogan that he could become the next Saddam Hussein
On Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared to threaten military intervention against Israel , saying Turkey could “enter” Israel as it did in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh.
“We must be very strong so that Israel can’t do these ridiculous things to Palestine. Just like we entered Karabakh, just like we entered Libya, we might do similar to them,” Erdogan said in a televised address. “There is no reason why we cannot do this … We must be strong so that we can take these steps.”
Starting in 2020, Turkey, a NATO member, began deploying military advisors and thousands of Syrian mercenaries to Libya to support the UN-backed Government of National Accord.
Turkey also strongly backed Azerbaijan’s 2020 assault on Nagorno-Karabakh by providing weapons and political support. The conflict ended in 2023 with Azerbaijan completing the ethnic cleansing of the over 100,000 ethnic Armenians who lived in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Turkey denied that it intervened directly in Nagorno-Karabakh, but during the 2020 war, there were allegations that Ankara sent mercenaries recruited from Syria to fight for Azerbaijan.
