‘Iran Will Do Everything to Help Palestinian Resistance:’ IRGC Commander

The leader of the Quds Force hailed the achievements of the resistance in Gaza against Israel just as Tehran announced it has had communications with the US to avoid the spread of the war

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Commander, General Esmail Qaani, issued a letter addressed to the commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza, Mohammed Deif, on 16 November, vowing that Tehran will “do everything necessary” to support the Palestinian resistance.

“You have scripted a great epic titled ‘The Flood of Al-Aqsa.' The Almighty has granted this achievement to the fighters of the Qassam Brigades and other resistance fighters in Gaza,”
the letter expounds before highlighting that the Palestinians exposed “the weakness and fragility of the oppressive Zionist entity, proving practically and decisively that this entity is weaker than a spider's web.”

“In conclusion, we affirm the covenant, the commitment, and the fraternal and religious bond that unites us. Rest assured that we will do everything necessary in this historic battle within our ongoing protection and effective support for the resistance,
” Qaani stresses.

🚨BREAKING: US Army Asks Troops Who Left over COVID Mandate to Come Back as War Looms

"Individuals who desire to apply to return to service should contact their local Army, US Army Reserve, or Army National Guard."

The United States Army is inviting service members to return to the branch who had been separated over the refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine. This comes as the US Military struggles to achieve targeted recruitment numbers due to years of "woke" political activism which has reportedly turned off its primary recruitment base.

The Army issued a recent letter to "former service members" informing them that they can apply to return to service following the rescission of the vaccine requirement.

The Army had enacted forced separations for unvaccinated service members early last year, and announced in early 2023 that they had rescinded the mandate for current service members and applicants.

Netanyahu Claims Israel ‘Not Successful’ in Minimizing Civilian Casualties in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Israel was “trying to [minimize] civilian casualties. But unfortunately, we’re not successful.” The prime minister’s statement comes as the UN warns that the Israeli fuel embargo of Gaza could cause widespread starvation in the besieged enclave.

In an interview with CBS News on Thursday, the Israeli Prime Minister said Tel Aviv was trying to wipe out Hamas with minimal civilian casualties. He stated, “That’s what we’re trying to do: minimal civilian casualties. But unfortunately, we’re not successful.”

Iran Told US It Doesn’t Want Regional Escalation, Says Report

Iran used back channels to tell US that regional escalation was not its priority, while also telling Hamas it would not join the fight, Tehran's top diplomat tells the Financial Times

Iran has told the US that it was not seeking for the conflict between Israel and Hamas to spread, but that further Israeli assaults on Gaza could result in a regional spillover, according to statements by Iran’s top diplomat on Friday.

“Over the past 40 days, messages have been exchanged between Iran and the US, via the US interests section at the Swiss embassy in Tehran,”
Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said in an interview with the Financial Times.

In response to the US, Amirabdollahian had told Washington that “Iran does not want the war to spread, but due to the approach adopted by the US and Israel in the region, if the crimes against the people of Gaza and the West Bank are not stopped, any possibility could be considered, and a wider conflict could prove inevitable".

Poll: Sympathy for Palestinians Grows Among U.S. Voters

The number of U.S. voters who sympathize with Palestinians more than Israelis has slightly grown since near the start of the Israel-Hamas war, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll published Thursday.

Why it matters:
The new survey reinforces the generational divide and disagreements within the Democratic Party over the war, as the decrease in sympathies for Israelis was largely driven by young voters and Democrats.

The poll results also indicate that divisions in voters' opinions on the war are growing more stark.

>..A majority of voters (54%) still have more sympathy for Israelis than they do for Palestinians, but that has fallen since Quinnipiac's Oct. 17 poll, when 61% said Israelis and 13% said Palestinians.

Elon Musk: "Decolonization" is a Euphemism for Genocide, Use of the Word Will be Treated as Such and Result in Suspension

"As I said earlier this week, “decolonization”, “from the river to the sea” and similar euphemisms necessarily imply genocide.

Clear calls for extreme violence are against our terms of service and will result in suspension."

Max Blumenthal would comment on the matter: "The Israel lobby is the most powerful, invidious force within the Censorship Industrial Complex, and therefore one of the greatest threats to free speech in the West

Elon Musk has just caved to it, while inadvertently acknowledging that Israel is a settler-colonial entity"

Displacement and Killings Surge in West Bank, Amid Gaza War

The UN human rights chief said “I am ringing the loudest possible alarm bell” about the “potentially explosive situation” in the occupied West Bank

A wave of murders, violence, and harassment waged against Palestinians has been unleashed by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) personnel and illegal settlers alike in the occupied West Bank, according to the Time of Israel. Nearly 200 Palestinians have been killed, including 48 children, in the West Bank since Tel Aviv’s massive bombing campaign against the besieged Gaza Strip was launched last month.

B’tselem, the premier Israeli human rights organization, reports that since the October 7 Hamas attack on southern Israel, 963 Palestinians have been displaced in these rampant attacks. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimates the number of people forced from their homes and villages is even higher.

OCHA notes about 1,150 Palestinians from 15 herding communities have been uprooted by repressive movement restrictions imposed on Palestinians in the West Bank as well as the settler violence. Entire villages such as Radhem and Zanutah have been depopulated over the last month as well.

In that same time, the Yesh Din organization estimates that there have been in excess of 185 attacks by settlers against Palestinians in more than 84 villages and towns. Times of Israel reports that in the wake of the current war, illegal West Bank settlers have been recruited by the army into six so-called regional defensive battalions.

As the line between settlers and the military is obscured, violent attacks have escalated.
Earlier this month, Haaretz reported that some of the settlers being inducted into these army militias, ostensibly formed to defend ultra-orthodox illegal colonies in the West Bank, may have criminal records.

Biggest Protest in Spain Against Catalan Amnesty Law Draws 170,000

About 170,000 people marched through Madrid on Saturday in the largest protest yet against an amnesty law which Spain's Socialists agreed over Catalonia's 2017 separatist bid in order to form a government.

The demonstration, the latest in a series of protests in cities across the country against the amnesty, took place two days after Spain's Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez won a four-year term with the backing of Catalan and Basque nationalist parties in return for agreeing to the law.

European Commission Pulls Ads From X, Says It’s Due to “Disinformation,” Not the Fact It’s Just Been Hit With a Legal Complaint Over Privacy-Invasive Ads

The EU takes another chance to protest X for not censoring enough.

Critics of censorship might consider the recent decision by the European Commission to halt advertising on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, as a controversial step. The decision, rooted in concern over the spread of alleged disinformation on the platform, was formally conveyed in a memo by the Commission’s Deputy Chief Spokesperson, Dana Spinant. POLITICO’s Brussels Playbook, which managed to obtain the note, reveals Spinant citing how misrepresentation, especially around the Israel-Hamas conflict, jeopardized the Commission’s reputation.

The Commission’s action is associated with the rising scrutiny faced by X in Europe, primarily due to the region’s newly implemented Digital Services Act (DSA), also known as the EU censorship act.

This piece of legislation governing online speech supposedly prompted the Commission to question X’s compliance, particularly regarding its handling of illicit content and misinformation related to the October 7 attack by Hamas.

However, the European Commission doesn’t mention another factor that could have weighed into its decision to cut ads on X – namely that it’s suddenly the subject of an official complaint over its privacy-invasive advertising on the platform.

At Gunpoint, Israel Expels Patients, Doctors From Al-Shifa Hospital

Thirty seven patients have died this week, including three premature babies as the hospital's ability services have collapsed

Israeli forces ordered doctors, patients and displaced people at Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital to evacuate the medical compound, giving them an hour to do so and forcing some to leave by gunpoint, Al-Jazeera reported on 18 November.

Israeli forces issued the demand to evacuate in “one hour” at around 9 am local time, but it was “impossible” to evacuate everyone, a doctor in Al-Shifa told Al-Jazeera.

Medical sources inside the facility said there are more than 7,000 people sheltering from Israeli bombing in the Al-Shifa complex, including 300 patients in critical condition.

It also includes “at least 35 premature babies who already for eight days now have been out of their incubators because of the lack of oxygen and the lack of electricity,” Al-Jazeera’s correspondent in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, said. Four babies died late on Friday and five are severely ill now, the correspondent added.

“There is no transportation means in Gaza City and the northern parts because of a lack of fuel. So people are expected to evacuate on foot. And doctors are telling us it’s impossible to evacuate with this many people on foot.”
She added that doctors also did not want to abandon their patients.

“We were told to leave through al-Wehda road. Dozens of dead bodies are scattered on the road,”
Omar Zaqout, the hospital’s supervisor, said. “Many homeless people who cannot walk are left out in the open.”
