We Spent a Billion Dollars Fighting the Houthis… and Lost

Why does it seem the Pentagon is far better at spending money than actually putting together a successful operation? The failed “Operation Prosperity Guardian” and the disastrous floating Gaza pier are but two recent examples of enormously expensive initiatives that, though they no-doubt enriched military contractors, were incapable of meeting their stated goals.

To great fanfare, last December the Pentagon announced the launch of Operation Prosperity Guardian, a joint US/UK military operation to halt the Yemeni Houthi disruption of Israel-linked commercial shipping through the Red Sea. The Houthis announced their policy in response to civilian deaths in Israel’s war on Gaza, but when the US and UK military became involved they announced they would target US and UK shipping as well.

The operation was supposed to be quick and easy. After all, the rag-tag Houthi militia was no match for the mighty US and UK navies. But it didn’t work out that way at all. Over the weekend the Wall Street Journal published a devastating article revealing that after spending more than one billion dollars on munitions alone, the operation had failed to deter the Houthis and failed to re-open commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

Israel Targets US Public With Massive Propaganda Campaign: Report

Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs funds US-based organizations to lobby for measures restricting criticism of Israel and its ongoing genocide in Gaza

Israel is covertly funding a massive propaganda campaign to target the US public, including through the passage of legislation to restrict US citizens’ right to free speech when criticizing Israel and its ongoing war on Gaza, The Guardian reported on 24 June.

The UK newspaper reported that there are 80 programs already underway as part of the massive propaganda campaign known as the “Voices of Israel.”

The program is funded and run by the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, led by MK Amichai Chikli.

The program was designed to carry out what Israel calls “mass consciousness activities” targeting the US and European public.

Voices of Israel is part of the “latest incarnation” of a “sometimes covert operation” by the Israeli ministry to censor students, human rights organizations, and other critics of Israel.

Known previously as “Concert” and before that, “Kela Shlomo,” the campaign previously spearheaded efforts to pass so-called “anti-BDS” state laws that penalize Americans for engaging in boycotts or other non-violent protests of Israel.

🚨BREAKING: Former Uvalde School Police Chief, Officer Indicted in 1st-Ever Criminal Charges Over Failed Response to 2022 Mass Shooting

A grand jury has indicted two former Uvalde school police officers in the botched law enforcement response to the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary school that left 19 children and two teachers dead, two Texas state government sources with knowledge of the indictment told CNN Thursday.

Former Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo and former school police officer Adrian Gonzales were named in the indictments, which represent the first criminal charges filed in the school massacre.

Arredondo surrendered himself to the custody of the Texas Rangers in Uvalde on Thursday, an official with the Texas Department of Public Safety told CNN.

The two officers face felony charges of abandoning and endangering a child, Uvalde District Attorney Christina Mitchell told the Uvalde Leader-News, and one of them was expected to surrender later Thursday.

The indictments were not immediately available from the Uvalde County District Court clerk’s office.

Dutch Foreign Ministry Calls in Israeli Ambassador Over ICC Spying Claims

Meeting disclosed after questions by Dutch MPs concerned about Guardian revelations of anti-ICC campaign

Israel’s ambassador to the Netherlands was asked to “report” to the Dutch foreign affairs ministry to explain allegations of a secret surveillance and espionage campaign by Israeli spy services against the international criminal court, it has emerged.

Dutch officials asked to meet the ambassador, Modi Ephraim, to discuss concerns raised by a Guardian investigation that revealed Israeli intelligence agencies attempted over a nine-year period to undermine, influence and allegedly intimidate the ICC chief prosecutor’s office.

The meeting was disclosed by officials in response to questions raised in parliament by several Dutch MPs about the revelations, part of a joint investigation with the Israeli-Palestinian publication +972 Magazine and the Hebrew-language outlet Local Call.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the minister of foreign affairs said the Israeli ambassador “was requested to report at the [ministry] in connection with allegations made in the articles in the Guardian and +972”. They said a conversation was held “in which the concerns of the Netherlands have been expressed”.

The spokesperson declined to discuss details, citing the confidentiality of diplomatic conversations. Israel’s embassy in the Netherlands did not respond to a request for comment.

Several days after anonymous sources in the Biden administration had promised all the military aid needed by the Israel Defense Forces in the event a full-fledged war begins, Brown made clear that that wasn't such a simple matter. An Israeli operation against Hezbollah, he told the media, is likely to lead to Iranian involvement in defense of the Shi'ite organization, if it senses a real threat. On top of the support for Hamas, on top of the intelligence failure that allowed the attack, and the possible killing of Israeli citizens, - the lack of regard for the hostages in Hamas’s after the attack was insult to injury for worried family members of victims, or any Israeli citizen who entertained the notion their government cared about them and would do everything to protect them.

From the attack happening, to the failed responded on October 7th, to the lack of concern for the hostages after - and taking no accountability for the failure…. it is easy to see why Netanyahu’s popularity had declined. 🚨 A Top Intelligence Official Admitted They’re Spying on the College Protests Re Gaza (And the Protests Over the Supreme Court’s Dobbs Decision as Well!)

U.S. Gov Finally Admits to Spying on Domestic Protests

Intel agencies monitor protests against Israel and the overturning of Roe v. Wade, among others

The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the National Counterterrorism Center are all surveilling and reporting on domestic protests, specifically the student demonstrations about the Israel-Hamas war and abortion-related protests at the Supreme Court, a top intelligence official admitted this week in testimony before Congress.

The intelligence community has been under significant pressure from Congress to monitor the pro-Palestinian protests, as I’ve previously reported. The FBI and NCTC have also taken it upon themselves to more closely scrutinize domestic protests in other areas, all on the pretext that they are looking for foreign influence.

Homeland Security’s intelligence agency has on multiple occasions tasked their intelligence collectors with gathering information on various protests, Ken Wainstein, the Department's Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis said in testimony before a House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Tuesday. Wainstein claimed that foreign governments (and other actors) were actively exploiting American protests to sow discord in the U.S. His remarks have not been previously reported.

Widely Reported Palestinian Father-Son ‘Rape’ Confession Contradicted by Piles of Evidence

Alleged “confessions” by two Palestinians in Israeli custody, who were filmed admitting to multiple rapes, murders, and kidnappings on October 7, do not match the events of that day, are contradicted by copious evidence, and were likely coerced through torture. US and British media are running with the stories regardless.

On May 23, 2024, Britain’s Daily Mail published what it described as “exclusive” interrogation tapes it had been handed by Israeli intelligence. The Murdoch-owned tabloid claimed the supposed confessions exposed a pair of “father and son Hamas rapists” who had admitted “going house to house carrying out sex attacks and murder.” The proof of this apparent bombshell story consisted of two short snippets of heavily edited footage in which a wide-eyed Palestinian father and son are shown confessing to raping, killing, and kidnapping Israeli civilians from Kibbutz Nir Oz in Israel on October 7th.

In the videos, the pair, listed by the Daily Mail as “Shameless Jamal Hussein Ahmad Radi, 47, and his son Abdallah, 18,” seemingly admit to heinous crimes including a double homicide, kidnapping a mother and daughter, gangraping and murdering a woman, and kidnapping an Israeli resident.

In an appeal to emotion aimed at making the very questioning of the confessions’ reliability an act of siding with monsters, the Daily Mail writes, “An evil father and son have revealed…] how they killed and raped innocent civilians.” The opening sentence distills the essence of the article as a whole: “These confessions further prove that any attempt to deny the horrors of October 7th… is part of a campaign… to promote the justification of terrorism.”

This investigation will expose the videos, and the Western media coverage of them, as yet another cynical example of Israeli propaganda designed to manufacture support for Tel Aviv’s assault on the Gaza Strip. Indeed, the claims made in the videos are not only uncorroborated by any evidence gathered by Israel, they are contradicted by copious documentation of the deaths which occurred in Nir Oz on October 7.
