As the threat of full-scale war looms over Lebanon, Hezbollah has vowed to confront any offensive without ‘limits, rules, or restraints’
Hezbollah carried out several operations against Israeli military sites on 23 June, including a guided missile attack that left several casualties.
“After careful monitoring of the Israeli enemy forces at the Metulla site, when a military vehicle was spotted moving in the vicinity of the site and after arriving at the ambush point, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance targeted it with guided missiles and hit it directly, which led to its destruction and the deaths and injuries of those inside it,” the resistance group said in a statement on Sunday evening.
According to Hebrew media reports, mortar shells were fired toward the site of the attack afterward to obstruct attempts at evacuating the casualties.
The Israeli army admitted that two officers in the Metulla settlement’s security team were injured in the attack, including one seriously.
Israeli journalist Moshe Yair said via social media that one soldier was killed and six others injured by the Hezbollah attack on Metulla.
Israel responded with heavy bombardment on southern Lebanon, firing large amounts of internationally banned phosphorus shells at the towns of Kfar Kila, Khiam, and Tallet al-Azziyah.

Robot Face With Lab-Grown Living Skin Created by Scientists Hoping To Make More Human-Like Cyborgs
A team of scientists unveiled a robot face covered with a delicate layer of living skin that heals itself and crinkles into a smile in hopes of developing more human-like cyborgs.
The skin was made in a lab at the University of Tokyo from a mixture of human skin cells grown on a collagen model and placed on top of a 3D-printed resin base, the New Scientist reported.
Scientists on the project — who published their findings in Cell Reports Physical Science on Tuesday — believe the living skin could be a key step in creating robots that heal and feel like humans.
“This living skin would be particularly useful for robots that interact closely with humans, such as health care, service, companion and humanoid robots, where human-like functions are needed,” Professor Shoji Takeuchi told the Times of London.
The lab-grown skin has been attached to a simple, tiny robot face that is capable of smiling — and the tissue can heal itself.
“The skin can repair itself if damaged, similar to how human skin heals wounds,” Takeuchi explained.
“And integrating sensory functions like touch and temperature detection is more feasible with living tissue.”
The skin’s dermal cells were cultured first, and the epidermal cells were then added on top to complete the structure, he added.

Investigation Confirms Israeli Tank Killed Six-Year-Old Hind Rajab
An Israeli tank gunner unleashed 355 bullets on the car carrying Hind and her relatives, knowing they were inside it
An investigation by multidisciplinary research group Forensic Architecture concluded that six-year-old Palestinian girl, Hind Rajab, and several of her relatives were killed by an Israeli tank gunner opening fire on their car.
Hind and her relatives were killed on 29 January while fleeing their neighborhood in Gaza City after the Israeli military issued evacuation orders for the area. Their bodies were finally recovered 12 days later.
Forensic Architecture mapped a total of 335 bullet holes in the Kia Sedan they were killed.
The investigation, carried out in cooperation with Earshot and journalists from Al Jazeera’s Fault Lines, also found that two Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) medics who tried to rescue Hind were also killed by Israeli tank fire.
While the deaths of most Palestinians killed by Israel in its genocidal war in Gaza pass unnoticed, Hind’s killing gained international attention when the PCRS published the audio of the call for help made by Hind’s cousin, 15-year-old Layan Hamadam.
After the adults in the car had been shot and killed, Layan desperately used a cell phone to reach the PRCS dispatcher.
Layan said, “They are shooting at us. The tank is next to me. [We are hiding] in the car. We’re next to the tank.”
Layan screams until her voice stops abruptly twenty seconds into the call.
During the call, a total of 64 gunshots are heard within just 6 seconds, indicating a firing range of 750–900 rounds per minute. This range of rounds per minute is consistent with Israeli army-issued weaponry, such as the M4 assault rifle or the FN MAG machine gun on a Merkava tank.
Israel has tried to claim that its tanks were not in the area where Hind, Layan, and their relatives were killed. Israel instead suggested they were killed by gunfire from Hamas. But Forensic Architecture notes that the firing range observed in the call exceeds that of the AK-47 assault rifles most commonly used by Hamas.
By measuring the sound of the bullet traveling at supersonic speed and comparing it to the sound of the blast from the muzzle of the gun reaching the recording device at the speed of sound, Earshot was able to determine that the tank firing at Hind and Layan’s car was located between 13 and 23 meters away.
“At such proximity, it is not plausible that the shooter could not have seen that the car was occupied by civilians, including children,” Forensic Architecture writes.
The “ballistic analysis supports the final words of Layan Hamada: the gunfire came from a tank that was next to them.”
After the Israeli tank gunner killed Layan, six-year-old Hind was the only person left alive in the car. PCRS dispatchers sent paramedics Yusuf al-Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun in an ambulance to rescue her. When they reached the site of Hind’s car, they were immediately killed.

The soldiers pulled back from the presidential palace after a nearly three hour stand off with Arce and Commander General of the Armed Forces Juan José Zúñiga—who led the purported coup—was arrested.
Zúñiga, who was stripped of his command last week, did not say he was spearheading a coup, telling journalists before entering the presidential palace that the army sought to restore democracy and free political prisoners, according to the Associated Press.
Arce confronted Zuñiga in the palace, ordering the general to withdraw his soldiers, the Associated Press reported, and Zuñiga said he still recognizes Arce as Bolivia’s commander-in-chief “for now.”
Arce then appointed a new military commander who ordered the Zuñiga-led troops to return home and the soldiers complied with the demand by pulling out along with their armored vehicles.
After the soldiers exit, thousands of Arce’s supporters and police officers entered the plaza housing the national government buildings and the presidential palace.
Arce thanked his supporters and police officials for rising up against the alleged coup and announced new heads of the country’s army, navy and air force, the AP report added.

Why does it seem the Pentagon is far better at spending money than actually putting together a successful operation? The failed “Operation Prosperity Guardian” and the disastrous floating Gaza pier are but two recent examples of enormously expensive initiatives that, though they no-doubt enriched military contractors, were incapable of meeting their stated goals.
To great fanfare, last December the Pentagon announced the launch of Operation Prosperity Guardian, a joint US/UK military operation to halt the Yemeni Houthi disruption of Israel-linked commercial shipping through the Red Sea. The Houthis announced their policy in response to civilian deaths in Israel’s war on Gaza, but when the US and UK military became involved they announced they would target US and UK shipping as well.
The operation was supposed to be quick and easy. After all, the rag-tag Houthi militia was no match for the mighty US and UK navies. But it didn’t work out that way at all. Over the weekend the Wall Street Journal published a devastating article revealing that after spending more than one billion dollars on munitions alone, the operation had failed to deter the Houthis and failed to re-open commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

🚨BREAKING: Former Uvalde School Police Chief, Officer Indicted in 1st-Ever Criminal Charges Over Failed Response to 2022 Mass Shooting
A grand jury has indicted two former Uvalde school police officers in the botched law enforcement response to the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary school that left 19 children and two teachers dead, two Texas state government sources with knowledge of the indictment told CNN Thursday.
Former Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo and former school police officer Adrian Gonzales were named in the indictments, which represent the first criminal charges filed in the school massacre.
Arredondo surrendered himself to the custody of the Texas Rangers in Uvalde on Thursday, an official with the Texas Department of Public Safety told CNN.
The two officers face felony charges of abandoning and endangering a child, Uvalde District Attorney Christina Mitchell told the Uvalde Leader-News, and one of them was expected to surrender later Thursday.
The indictments were not immediately available from the Uvalde County District Court clerk’s office.

Dutch Foreign Ministry Calls in Israeli Ambassador Over ICC Spying Claims
Meeting disclosed after questions by Dutch MPs concerned about Guardian revelations of anti-ICC campaign
Israel’s ambassador to the Netherlands was asked to “report” to the Dutch foreign affairs ministry to explain allegations of a secret surveillance and espionage campaign by Israeli spy services against the international criminal court, it has emerged.
Dutch officials asked to meet the ambassador, Modi Ephraim, to discuss concerns raised by a Guardian investigation that revealed Israeli intelligence agencies attempted over a nine-year period to undermine, influence and allegedly intimidate the ICC chief prosecutor’s office.
The meeting was disclosed by officials in response to questions raised in parliament by several Dutch MPs about the revelations, part of a joint investigation with the Israeli-Palestinian publication +972 Magazine and the Hebrew-language outlet Local Call.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the minister of foreign affairs said the Israeli ambassador “was requested to report at the [ministry] in connection with allegations made in the articles in the Guardian and +972”. They said a conversation was held “in which the concerns of the Netherlands have been expressed”.
The spokesperson declined to discuss details, citing the confidentiality of diplomatic conversations. Israel’s embassy in the Netherlands did not respond to a request for comment.
