Boeing Says ‘Cyber Incident’ Hit Parts Business After Ransom Threat
Boeing (BA.N), one of the world's largest defense and space contractors, said on Wednesday it is investigating a cyber incident that impacted elements of its parts and distribution business and cooperating with a law enforcement probe into it.
Boeing acknowledged the incident days after the Lockbit cybercrime gang said on Friday it had stolen "a tremendous amount" of sensitive data from the U.S. planemaker that it would dump online if Boeing didn't pay ransom by Nov. 2.
The Lockbit threat was no longer on the gang's website as of Wednesday, and it didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Boeing declined to comment on whether Lockbit was behind the cyber incident it disclosed.
"This issue does not affect flight safety," a Boeing spokesperson said. "We are actively investigating the incident and coordinating with law enforcement and regulatory authorities. We are notifying our customers and suppliers."
Lockbit was the most active global ransomware group last year based on the number of victims, and it has hit 1,700 U.S. organisations since 2020, according to the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
The hacking group typically deploys ransomware on a victim organization's system to lock it up, as well as stealing sensitive data for extortion.

Countries Begin Downgrading Ties with Israel Over Relentless Bombing of Gaza
A trio of South American countries, along with Jordan, have downgraded ties with Israel over the onslaught in Gaza. According to Palestinian sources, the Israeli military operations in Gaza have killed nearly 9,000 people, half of which are women and children.
On Tuesday, Bolivia took the most extreme step and cut all ties with Israel. Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani explained that Bolivia “decided to break diplomatic relations with the Israeli state in repudiation and condemnation of the aggressive and disproportionate Israeli military offensive taking place in the Gaza Strip.”
The next day, Tel Aviv responded by saying Sucre’s move was “capitulation to terrorism and to the ayatollah regime in Iran.”
Colombia and Chile announced they would recall their ambassadors to Israel. Colombian President Gustavo Petro posted on X, “I have decided to call our ambassador in Israel for consultation. If Israel does not stop the massacre of the Palestinian people we cannot be there.”

Biden’s Conspiracy Theory About Gaza Casualty Numbers Unravels Upon Inspection
One Palestinian American lost more than 40 relatives in Gaza. We found them on the Ministry of Health list.
President Joe Biden asked last week what his government planned to do to reduce the number of civilian casualties in Gaza, responded by rejecting the idea that the numbers could be trusted. “I have no notion if Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed,” Biden said on Wednesday. “I’m sure innocents have been killed and it is the price of waging war,” he added. “But I have no confidence in the number that Palestinians are using.”
A new analysis by The Intercept provides evidence refuting that claim.
Biden’s effort to delegitimize the numbers coming out of Gaza as fake news has created an opening for defenders of Israel’s indiscriminate bombing campaign to dismiss the crisis; they note that Hamas governs Gaza and therefore runs the Ministry of Health and is inflating the figures. (Biden later clarified he meant to say he didn’t trust Hamas, not all Palestinians, according to the Wall Street Journal.)

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, on 1 November confirmed that Israel has “no right to self-defense” in their current war against Gaza and blasted the western world for their “hypocrisy” in endorsing the genocide of Palestinians.
"I also cannot leave unmentioned the hypocrisy of the US and its allies, who in other, completely different situations call for compliance with humanitarian law, establish investigative commissions, impose sanctions against those who use force only as an extreme measure to stop the years-long violence," Nebenzya said during the UN General Assembly's special session on Palestine.

- Iran and their proxies hinting of a surprise
- Lebanese schools closing

- Prime Minister preparing for war, and a last ditch effort to reach a peace deal
- And most importantly, the leak we mentioned yesterday: Iran and Hezbollah warned the US that if the war doesn't pause tomorrow, Hezboollah is joining

America’s Entangling Alliances are Dizzying, Disorienting, and Leading to Disaster
The whole world is a tinderbox full of explosives. Fuses are burning and growing shorter by the day. As always, America finds itself in the middle of it all. To understand why a bunch of our Allies are threatening to kill each other, let’s take a swift birds-eye-view of the past 4 decades’ worth of alliances which got us where we are today.
In the 1980’s, the USSR was busy destroying itself with a futile war in Afghanistan. Washington had the bright idea to back the Mujahideen freedom fighters against the Soviets. This also included backing an outside Arab militant group led by Osama Bin Laden. The Mujahideen became the Taliban while Bin Laden became leader of Al-Qaeda.
Also in the 80’s, Washington allied with Saddam Hussein in the Iraqi/Iranian war, even after they knew Iraq was using Chemical weapons. However, Washington also sold missiles to Iran to fund a militant group in Nicaragua and hoping to free hostages in Lebanon. Dizzy yet?
After the Brutal Iraq/Iran war finally ended, Saddam was angry that the Sunni kings of the Arab world expected their war loans repaid. According to Iraq, Kuwait started slant drilling into their territory. Iraq invaded Kuwait, so Washington launched the Gulf War against its former ally. After the war, Washington placed brutal sanctions on Iraq, devastating the civilian population. Although the numbers were later determined to be overestimated by the UN, they at the time estimated that half a million Iraqi children had been killed by the sanctions. When asked if the price “was worth it”, Madeline Albright gave a firm answer, “we think the price is worth it.”
....Since Syria was friends with Iran, Obama considered it the next-best target. He and Hillary allied with a wide swath of Sunni militant groups which loosely became the Free Syrian Army (FSA). Since Al-Qaeda types are Sunni militant groups, it’s no wonder that US weapons regularly found their way into the hands of the very people who knocked our towers down in NY City.
.... Not only did they support the “moderate rebels” of the FSA, but they also supported Kurdish militant groups inside Syria. The Kurds had been on-and-off fighting with many of their neighbors for a long time, including ISIS, Arab groups, as well as Turkey. Reports abound of US backed Kurds fighting US backed Arab groups in Syria – all with US weapons, military vehicles, and support.
Thomas Jefferson would be flipping tables in DC.
...And although we should probably talk about Libya, where the US took Al-Qaeda’s side to oust Washington’s old ally Gaddafi, we simply don’t have time.
So that brings us to today: some reports are if Israel launches a major ground offensive into Gaza, the rest of the Muslim world would intervene – not just Iran. Turkey has condemned Israel’s bombings of the Palestinians in Gaza, hinting that they could intervene. Turkey is a NATO ally. Our long-time ally Saudi Arabia is also furious and condemning the bombing of Gaza, also hinting at intervening. The same is true of much of the rest of the Sunni world. Leave it to America to drive the Shia and Sunni states together against our other ally.
If the Saudis intervene against Israel, will they sit idly by and let the US operate out of their country against their side in the region? Furthermore, If Turkey intervenes and Israel strikes Turkey, does that invoke article 5 of NATO and mean that we have to go to war allied with Turkey against Israel? For the past year I kept hearing that NATO is a sacred vow because of support for the proxy war in Ukraine!
Surely this whole situation is a giant knot of entangling alliances, leaving the observer dizzy, confused, and in need of Dramamine. The only sane move is to stop – just stop.

WHO Publishes Latest Draft of Pandemic Treaty To Combat “Misinformation”
The United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) has published a new draft of its troubled pandemic agreement/accord/treaty – which the agency has complained is taking too long to finalize.
The latest draft of the negotiating text, released by the Bureau of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) on Monday must be considered until the INB session scheduled for November 6-10, when it should be formalized.
Some of the commitments contained in this version of the document have to do with combating “false, misleading, misinformation or disinformation, including through effective international collaboration and cooperation” – which skeptics might easily dub, “cross-border censorship.”
And then there’s surveillance, too: something called One Health approach for pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, which the draft wants to see promoted and implemented. Meanwhile, One Health is a surveillance tool that is supposed to create new methods of disease control.
Yet another point from the proposal is to “develop and strengthen pandemic prevention and public health surveillance capacities.”
Critics have many concerns and misgivings about all of this, including WHO setting up what’s known as a conference of the parties – an international convention’s top governing body – around the pandemic accord.

Putin Pulls Russia Out of Nuclear Test Ban Treaty
The US signed the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty with Russia in 1996, but failed to ratify the treaty as Russia did in 2000
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed legislation Thursday de-ratifying an international nuclear weapons treaty.
The law withdraws Russia from the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), originally signed in 1996 and ratified in 2000.
Russian officials have characterized the country's withdrawal from the treaty as a move toward equality with Western powers.
The U.S. signed the treaty alongside Russia but failed to ratify its content and implement its regulations. Other countries failed to finalize their commitment to the treaty, including China, Israel, Iran and North Korea.
Russia's withdrawal from the CTBT is not surprising. Putin has signaled his intentions to de-ratify the agreement since the invasion of Ukraine began.

US Rep. Mast, a Former IDF Solider, Denies There Are ‘Innocent Palestinian Civilians’
Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), a former member of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), dismissed the idea there are “innocent Palestinian civilians” in a debate on the House floor.
“I would encourage the other side to not so lightly throw around the idea of innocent Palestinian civilians, as frequently said,” Mast said on Wednesday. “I don’t think we would so lightly throw around the term ‘innocent Nazi civilians’ during World War II.”
Mast recently wore his IDF uniform on Capitol Hill, demonstrating his staunch support for Israel. “As the only member to serve with both the United States Army and the Israel Defense Forces, I will always stand with Israel,” he wrote on X in a post showing pictures of him in the uniform.

WHO Director-General Tedros Complains of Slow Progress on Pandemic Treaty, Giving the WHO Powers to Target “Misinformation” and “Infodemics”
The Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMG) – a body set up by the UN’s World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank – has released its annual report for 2023.
WHO’s Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus offered his reaction to it, the key takeaway from both the report and his remarks being that work on the proposed pandemic accord/agreement/treaty is progressing too slowly.
The WHO has a great interest in this treaty coming into force as soon as possible and wants UN member-states to speed things up, as it would give WHO new, not only health-related but also essentially political powers – such as targeting what it designates as “misinformation,” all the way to surveillance.
The way the WHO head is selling the need for the document to be completed and adopted ASAP is, naturally, different: Tedros says it has to do solely with preparedness and response to health emergencies. And he is using Covid as proof and justification that this treaty is needed.
As Ghebreyesus put it in urging countries to hurry up finalizing the document, “Another pandemic or global health emergency could come at any time, just as it did in 2019.”
