Miranda Devine: Comer’s Subpoenas for Hunter and James Biden Notching Investigation to ‘Very Aggressive Level’

New York Post columnist Miranda Devine told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that Republican Rep. James Comer's subpoenas for Hunter and James Biden are ratcheting the probe to a "very aggressive level."

"I think this is the next phase. The subpoenas that James Comer signed last week and the requests for various associates and family members of the Bidens to come in for transcribed interviews is really notching it up to a very aggressive level. And this is why you see Hunter Biden's lawyer panicking, writing to the speaker, Mike Johnson, and saying, ‘call your dogs off.’ This is why you're seeing hit jobs on James Comer spreading out through the so-called prestige media," she said.

Devine said the Bidens know that Comer "has the receipts."

"And one by one, he'll be wrapping up these various Biden family members, including Hunter and James Biden," she said, adding that Comer also had his eyes on one of President Biden's donors.

"It's alarming to me that Democrats are trying to deny what we have learned from the House Oversight Committee. Do you think they're just trying to support their guy or is it partly because the media, they know will give them a pass by not reporting any of this?" Bartiromo asked.

Devine said it was both, and said that there were a lot of people "compromised by the fact that they've covered up for the Biden family."

"So many people in the DOJ, in the FBI, in the CIA, and throughout Joe's vice presidency, it was evident, and we now know there were more than two dozen complaints [that] came into the DOJ from all sorts of sources about Joe Biden's potential corruption, and they were all ignored and buried and suppressed," Devine said.

Report: US Concerned Israel Is Trying to Provoke Wider Lebanon War

Axios reports that Lloyd Austin 'expressed concern' about the fighting with Hezbollah in a Saturday phone call with Yoav Gallant

Some members of the Biden administration are concerned that Israel is looking to provoke Hezbollah as a pretext for a wider war in Lebanon that could draw in the US, Axios reported on Sunday.

Since the October 7 Hamas attack on southern Israel, Hezbollah and Israel have been fighting across the Lebanon-Israel border, including a November 5 Israeli airstrike that killed a woman and three children. The skirmishes have killed over 60 Hezbollah fighters, several Lebanese civilians, and about 10 Israeli soldiers and civilians.

The Axios report said Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin “expressed concern” about the fighting on the border in a Saturday call with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant. The White House requested Austin relay the message due to “growing anxiety” that Israel’s military action is exacerbating tensions on the border.

The Pentagon’s readout of the call said Austin “emphasized the need to contain the conflict to Gaza and avoid regional escalation,” but it did not specifically mention Lebanon. Sources told Axios Austin asked for clarification about Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon and asked what steps would be taken to avoid a regional war.

Pentagon UFO Chief Resigns After Warning Recent Sightings Could be Foreign Powers — or Aliens

The Pentagon’s UFO chief will step down next month after saying that several reported sightings of objects flying through the sky over the US are either the work of foreign nations or aliens, warning that the latter would be the preferred scenario.

Sean Kirkpatrick, head of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), announced his plans to leave last week after heading the department for 18 months, a job he deferred his retirement for in hopes of finding evidence of extraterrestrials.

After investigating more than 800 cases during his brief stint as director, Kirkpatrick warned of the presence of UFOs, and although there has yet to be any hard evidence of aliens, he said the alternative was much more frightening

WA Judge Rules That Car Manufacturers Can Legally Store Your Texts and Phone Calls Without Explicit Permission

In a move concerning privacy advocates, a federal judge last week ruled against reinstating a collective lawsuit accusing four auto manufacturing giants of contravening privacy protections in Washington state. The companies were alleged to have illicitly intercepted and documented private text messages and call records of customers using their car’s inbuilt infotainment systems.

The judge based in Seattle concluded that this activity did not constitute unauthorized privacy infringements according to state regulations.

The court’s decision favors the automakers Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, and General Motors, who find themselves as defendants in five parallel collective lawsuits revolving around this issue. A similar case against Ford had been earlier dismissed following an appeal.

The complainants from the existing four lawsuits had sought legal redress following a previous dismissal by another judge. In their judgment given Tuesday, the appellate judge asserted that the clandestine capture and logging of mobile phone usage did not violate the provisions of the Washington Privacy Act.

Solar Superstorm Could ‘Wipe Out the Internet’ for Weeks or Months, Scientist Says

Professor Peter Becker is working with a team whose goal is to create an early warning system for dangerous solar activity that could damage critical technology.

We may marvel at the Northern Lights, but that same solar storm energy could one day create what one researcher described as an "internet apocalypse."

"The internet has come of age during a time when the sun has been relatively quiet, and now it's entering a more active time," said Professor Peter Becker of George Mason University. "It's the first time in human history that there's been an intersection of increased solar activity with our dependence on the internet and our global economic dependence on the internet."

Becker is the lead investigator on a project with the school and the Naval Research Laboratory to create an early warning system.

"There have been a lot of (solar) flares," Becker said. "Flares are when the sun brightens, and we see the radiation, and that's kind of the muzzle flash. And then the cannon shot is the coronal mass ejection (CME). So, we can see the flash, but then the coronal mass ejection can go off in some random direction in space, but we can tell when they're actually going to head towards Earth. And that gives us about 18 hours of warning, maybe 24 hours of warning, before those particles actually get to Earth and start messing with Earth's magnetic field."

Large blobs of plasma, or superheated matter, fly through space in a CME. A percentage hit the Earth, which distorts our planet's magnetic field. That third prong on the electric plug, which usually gives excess electrical charges a safe place to go, becomes "like a big electrical circuit."

It has happened before

It has happened before. Becker points to the Carrington Event in 1859. That was the last time a CME reached Earth.

"It actually took out the telegraph system, sparks were literally flying off the telegraph lines," Becker said. "Some operators got electrocuted because the wires ended up carrying high voltage, which they were never supposed to do, but the magnetic field variations became so strong it almost became a generator system and drove these currents down telegraph wires."

The heavy-duty wires of the telegraph were robust compared to the fragile electronics of today, he said.

Fashion Mogul Peter Nygard Found Guilty of 4 Counts of Sexual Assault

Nygard is also awaiting potential extradition to the US, where he faces a federal indictment filed in 2020 in the Southern District of New York that accuses him of using his fashion business as a “façade of legitimacy” in order to conceal sex trafficking and other illegal activity.

Prosecutors allege the businessman used his ties to the fashion industry to entice young women with drugs, money and the lure of a successful modeling career.

The accusers were then “forcibly sexually assaulted, drugged, and/or coerced into sexual contact with Nygard,” according to the US indictment. Many alleged victims were underage girls who came from disadvantaged backgrounds or had a history of abuse.

UK Infant Indi Gregory Dies Amid Legal Battle with British Government

A terminally ill baby in the UK, who was the focus of a legal battle involving her parents, British health officials, and the Italian government over treatment options, died Monday morning in hospice care.

The 8-month-old, Indi Gregory, suffered from brain damage because of a rare condition known as mitochondrial disease.

Italian officials granted the baby citizenship so she could continue receiving medical treatments there, but a UK judge ordered the baby be removed from life support instead.

Indi's parents also petitioned to have the her brought home to die, but a judge also denied that appeal.

"The NHS and the courts not only took away her chance to live a longer life, but they also took away Indi's dignity to pass away in the family home where she belonged," her father said.
