US to Buy $1.6 Billion in Ukrainian-Made Weapons for Ukraine

The US will purchase $1.6 billion in Ukrainian-made weapons for Ukraine, The Defense Post reported on Monday (April 29).

The $1.6 billion is included in a $6 billion tranche of weapons the US announced on April 26. The arms will be provided through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which allows the US to purchase weapons for Ukraine.

The US and its NATO allies have made clear that part of their long-term plans for Ukraine is to help the country develop a military-industrial complex. Western arms makers are also looking to manufacture weapons in Ukraine.

Netanyahu Vows to Invade Rafah "With or Without" a Hostage Deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Tuesday (April 30) that Israel will invade the southern Gaza city of Rafah “with or without” a hostage deal with Hamas, a threat that could derail fragile ceasefire negotiations.

“The idea that we will halt the war before achieving all of its goals is out of the question,” Netanyahu told representatives of hostage families, according to a statement from his office.

“We will enter Rafah and we will eliminate the Hamas battalions there – with or without a deal, in order to achieve the total victory,” he added.

Rafah is packed with over 1 million Palestinian civilians, and any Israeli invasion would incur huge civilian casualties and further disrupt aid shipments into the Strip. The US has said it’s opposed to Israel launching the attack without a plan for the civilians. But an evacuation is not feasible since there’s no place for civilians to go, and the US doesn’t appear to be applying any real pressure since unconditional military aid continues to flow.

Netanyahu’s threat comes as Hamas is preparing a written response to Israel’s latest proposal in the Egyptian and Qatari-mediated ceasefire talks.

...During previous rounds of negotiations, Israeli officials involved in the talks told Haaretz that it seemed like Netanyahu was purposely sabotaging the chances of a deal.

Leaked Files 'Shows US Government Confirming They Recovered Crashed UFO'

A former White House insider has released a bombshell document claiming the US government has a crashed UFO in its possession, with the wreckage said to have been recovered in Arizona

A leaked document has allegedly confirmed the US government's retrieval of a crashed UFO, according to a former White House official. Chris Mellon, who worked under both Clinton and George W Bush, has released a redacted document following a conversation with a "senior US government official" who claimed the UFO landed in Kingman, Arizona.

The unnamed official is quoted as saying: "We're dealing with the recovered UAP that landed in Kingman, AZ in the 1950s." The document, which dates back to around 2020, also contains a warning that people "would be slack-jawed if they found out what we now know."

The Kingman incident from May 1953 involved reports of multiple saucer-like objects in the sky, with three purported crashes, one of which was seemingly intact. It's believed that the US military was testing an advanced radar system near Kingman at the time.

This event mirrors the infamous Roswell incident of 1947, where the US military initially announced the recovery of a flying saucer, only to later claim it was a weather balloon, reports the Daily Star. The publication of the Kingman document was approved by the US government, as it does not contain any classified information.

Mellon remarked: "My purpose in releasing this document, in the wake of the government's blanket denials regarding the possession of off-world technology, is simply to help others understand why I and some others consider these allegations worthy of investigation."

This statement follows an account by a seasoned airline pilot who described four "unexplainable" sightings in the sky among them a "hypersonic" UFO and another craft that hurtled through the air at "30,000mph."

Pentagon Chief Says It’s "Possible" U.S. Troops on Gaza Pier End Up in a Shooting War

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin acknowledged on Tuesday (April 30) that it was a possibility that the 1,000 US troops deployed off the coast of Gaza as part of a project to build a pier could come under fire and said they would be able to shoot back.

Austin made the comments in an exchange with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) at a House Armed Services Committee hearing. “They have the right to return fire to protect themselves,” Austin said.

When asked if it was likely that US troops would come under attack from someone in Gaza, Austin said, “That’s possible, yes.”

Meanwhile, the staging area for the pier has already come under mortar attack.

Austin insisted there would be no US “boots on the ground” in Gaza, but Gaetz said the pier deployment was not much different than putting troops in the Strip.

Israel’s Finance Minister Calls for "Total Annihilation" of Rafah, Other Cities in Gaza

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Monday (April 29) called for the “total annihilation” of Rafah and other cities in the Gaza Strip.

“There are no half measures. Rafah, Deir al-Balah, Nuseirat—total annihilation. ‘You will blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven’—there’s no place under heaven,” Smotrich said.

Smotrich’s reference to “Amalek” was from a line in Deuteronomy, a book in the Hebrew Bible. Amalek is a nation the ancient Israelites were commanded to destroy, and in the book of Samuel, the Israelites were told to “slay both man and woman, infant and suckling.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously compared Gaza to Amalek, which has been cited as evidence of genocidal rhetoric in South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

“You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible. And we do remember, and we are fighting,” Netanyahu said in October.

The “annihilation” of Rafah would mean the death of over 1 million civilians who are sheltering there. Netanyahu vowed on Tuesday (April 30) that Israel will invade the city “with or without” a hostage deal with Hamas.

US Congress Threatens ICC Over Israeli Arrest Warrants

The International Criminal Court is being warned by members of Congress in both parties that arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials will be met with U.S. retaliation—and legislation to that effect is already in the works, Axios has learned.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has gone so far as to urge President Biden to intervene to help prevent the warrants, Axios' Barak Ravid reported. The ICC has been investigating allegations of war crimes against both the Israeli military and Palestinian militia groups dating back to 2014.

The White House declined to comment on Netanyahu's call with Biden but said "the ICC has no jurisdiction in this situation and we do not support its investigation."

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) issued a statement on Monday (April 29) calling the reported warrants "disgraceful" and "lawless."

"If unchallenged by the Biden administration, the ICC could create and assume unprecedented power to issue arrest warrants against American political leaders, American diplomats, and American military personnel," Johnson said.

Johnson called for the Biden administration to "immediately and unequivocally demand that the ICC stand down" and "use every available tool to prevent such an abomination."

NATO Troops in Ukraine + Kiev Running out of Forces for The West to Train w/ Mark Sleboda

The situation on the battlefield is becoming increasingly dire for Kiev, as Russian troops advance, while in some cases, Ukrainian forces flee. It has gotten so bad that even the Washington Post is admitting that Ukraine is running out of men for the U.S. to train in programs set up to aid Kiev as part of Washington's proxy war against Moscow.

International Relations and Security Analyst Mark Sleboda (@TheRealPolitick) noted that while Zelensky comes up with plans to force Ukrainian men back home to fight, the pressure is on for NATO troops to fill the void left by the nearly 500,000 Ukrainians troops who have been killed since 2022… and reports are already warning that there are NATO soldiers on the ground, proudly wearing the insignia of their home country.

Ukraine Attacks Crimea With US-Provided Army Tactical Missile Systems

Russian officials said Tuesday (April 30) that Ukraine targeted Crimea with US-provided Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), long-range missiles that the US secretly provided to Ukraine in March.

The ATACMS the US shipped to Ukraine have a range of about 190 miles, significantly longer than anything the US has previously provided. The US sent an older version of the ATACMS last fall that can hit targets up to 100 miles away and is packed with cluster bombs, which are notorious for killing and maiming civilians.

The governor of Crimea said that the ATACMS were shot down by Russian air defenses in the attack on Tuesday. The Russian Defense Ministry said that it shot down a total of six ATACMS but did not specify where.

US-supported attacks on Crimea always risk a major escalation as the peninsula is considered a red line for Russian President Vladimir Putin, something acknowledged by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken earlier in the war.

PFAS Increase Likelihood of Death by Cardiovascular Disease, Study Shows

For the first time, researchers have formally shown that exposure to toxic PFAS increases the likelihood of death by cardiovascular disease, adding a new level of concern to the controversial chemicals’ wide use.

The findings are especially significant because proving an association with death by chemical exposure is difficult, but researchers were able to establish it by reviewing death records from northern Italy’s Veneto region, where many residents for decades drank water highly contaminated with PFAS, also called “forever chemicals”.

Records further showed an increased likelihood of death from several cancers, but stopped short of establishing a formal association because of other factors.

“This is the first time that anyone has found strong evidence of an association of PFAS exposure and cardiovascular mortality,” said Annibale Biggeri, the peer-reviewed study’s lead author, and a researcher with the University of Padua.

The public hearing is the latest development in the multiyear investigation into Daszak and his organization, EcoHealth Alliance, for their work on bat coronaviruses in Wuhan, China, that receive funding from the National Institutes of Health.

EcoHealth Alliance has strong ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, located in the same city where the first human cases of SARS-CoV-2 were reported in December 2019. The WIV quickly became the epicenter of the lab-leak theory of the origin of the virus.

Daszak appeared before the House Oversight and Energy and Commerce committees in a closed-door transcribed interview session in November 2023, but Republicans said documents obtained by the committees following the event conflicted with Daszak’s interview, raising concerns about the veracity of his testimony.

“These revelations undermine your credibility as well as every factual assertion you made during your transcribed interview,” wrote the committee chairs in a letter to Daszak announcing the hearing. “The Committees have a right and an obligation to protect the integrity of their investigations, including the accuracy of testimony during a transcribed interview.”

Rep. Brad Wenstrup Grills Peter Daszak in Heated Exchange

Daszak confirms that in 2018 he submitted an application for a project named Diffuse. Ralph Baric from the University of NC and Shi Zhengli from the Wuhan Institute of Virology were collaborators.

Daszak admitted a strategy of downplaying the role of non-U.S. collaborators in the proposal to avoid negative perceptions by DARPA reviewers.

Wenstrup highlighted concerns regarding the biosafety protocols that were to be used for the research involving recombinant SARS coronaviruses. The issue here was that the work might be conducted under a lower biosafety level (BSL-2) in China, raising concerns that Daszak valued saving money over biosafety.

Trump Rips Israel’s Netanyahu Over Oct. 7 Hamas Attack: ‘Should Have Never Happened’

Former President Donald Trump has slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack in which around 1,200 people were butchered “should have never happened.”

In a wide-ranging interview with Time magazine published Tuesday, the 45th president said he believed the assault on southern Israel has had “a profound impact” on Netanyahu, 74.

“They have the most sophisticated equipment,” said Trump, 77, of Israeli security forces. “They had — everything was there to stop that. And a lot of people knew about it, you know, thousands and thousands of people knew about it, but Israel didn’t know about it, and I think he’s being blamed for that very strongly, being blamed.”

“I will say this,” he added. “Bibi Netanyahu rightfully has been criticized for what took place on October 7.”

Pentagon Chief Engaged in Pressuring EU Countries to Give Up Their Patriot Systems

America's top defense official is engaged in efforts to pressure European countries to give up their own US-made anti-air defenses for Ukraine.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Tuesday (April 30) he's been actively encouraging countries to donate their Patriot missile systems to Ukraine. "There are countries that have Patriots, and so what we’re doing is continuing to engage those countries," Austin testified before a House Armed Services Committee hearing.

"I have talked to the leaders of several countries... myself here in the last two weeks, encouraging them to give up more capability or provide more capability," he said.

Earlier this month a disturbing report by Financial Times identified Greece and Spain as being under the most pressure from Western allies to give up what few Patriot anti-air defense systems that they possess. But Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden also possess them—with Berlin recently giving one battery up to Ukraine.

An EU diplomat was cited in the FT report as explaining, "There are countries that are not in immediate need of their air defense systems, to be very honest." This as "Each country is being asked to decide what it can spare," according to the statement.
