Exclusive: Russian Fuel Export Ban to Be Lifted Next Week

Russian fuel producers have been told by the government to prepare for the scrapping of all remaining restrictions on the export of diesel and gasoline, three industry sources told Reuters on Thursday.

Russia, the world's top seaborne exporter of diesel, introduced a ban on fuel exports on Sept. 21 to tackle high domestic prices and shortages.

The government eased restrictions on Oct. 6, allowing the export of diesel by pipeline, but kept measures on gasoline exports in place. Overseas supplies of gasoline by trucks and railways are also prohibited.

Diplomats Warn White House Support for Israel Is Destroying US Image in Middle East

The document quoted a recent report that said, “President Biden’s cruelty and disregard for Palestinians exceeded all previous US presidents.”

CNN reports that American diplomats in the Middle East sent a diplomatic cable to the White House raising the alarm that the Israeli military operations in Gaza are causing severe damage to the US reputation in the region. Washington is Tel Aviv’s most dedicated backer, sending billions of dollars in weapons to Israel every year.

CNN says it obtained the cable authored by a diplomat stationed in Oman. Israel’s destructive and deadly military campaign in Gaza “is losing us Arab publics for a generation,” the outlet reports the diplomat as saying. Robust US support for Israel’s actions is being seen “as material and moral culpability in what they consider to be possible war crimes,” the cable reads.

It continues, “We are losing badly on the messaging battlespace.”

After a Hamas attack on October 7, Israel launched a massive military operation in Gaza. In just over a month of bombings, more than 11,000 civilians have been killed. The death toll includes over 4,000 children. Tel Aviv’s operations have been widely condemned by governments and organizations around the globe.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres said this week the high rate of civilian casualties shows something wrong is happening in Israel... On Wednesday, Barbara Leaf, assistant secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, told Congress the death toll in Gaza is potentially higher than reported.

The diplomatic cable said the damage done to the US image by supporting the Israeli bombing in Gaza will not be quickly repaired. Washington is Tel Aviv’s indispensable backer. The US provides Israel with nearly $4 billion in military assistance annually. The White House is asking Congress to approve $14 billion in additional security aid for Tel Aviv to support its operations in Gaza. On top of providing Israel with military aid, the Biden administration has blocked efforts at the UN Security Council to call for a ceasefire.

Fulton County election officials told the media and observers that they were shutting down the tabulation center at State Farm Arena at 10:30 pm on election night only to continue counting ballots until 1:00 am.

Video footage shows everyone was cleared out, including observers, but a handful of election workers stayed behind, pulled ballots out from under a table, and continued to scan ballots until 1:00 am.

This included scanning the same sets of ballots multiple times in a row.

SOS Brad Raffensperger hired a private contractor to monitor the Fulton County election.

His notes obtained by @JustTheNews reveal that Raffensperger "ripped" Fulton County at 11:17 pm, saying, "Fulton can't get anything right," after the media reported that State Farm Arena had stopped counting for the night.

The private contractor's notes continue:

11:26 — There is confusion about whether or not they're still scanning at State Farm bc there were reports that the staff there told the rest of the staff and press to leave, but I am still getting number reports from Shaye

~11:30 — Amid reports from local news that the lights are off and the staff have left, I head to state farm

11:52 — I arrive at State Farm Arena and report to Ryan Germany and Deputy Secretary Jordan Fuchs that they staff are still scanning on all five scanners. "The media just packed up when I released all the staff opening and sorting ballots," Shaye told me. The scanners worked to clear what had been processed that day instead of interrupting the processing flow to secure the ballots before leaving. Their goal is to hit Ralph's 100k by the end of the night.

12:15 AM — Inspector James Callaway arrives to investigate the accusations that the Fulton staff had told the press to go home and were scanning without observers.

If the private contractor is saying "order is starting to break down" at 12:08 due to some "already been processed" ballots being "re-scanned", why does the arena footage show the very same election workers repeatedly re-scanning the same batches of ballots multiple times in a row before the private contractor arrives?

Remember when we caught them on camera rescanning the same ballots multiple times in Fulton County?

Fulton County released ballot images, and guess what, they also counted the same ballots multiple times.

Microsoft and Meta Detail Plans To Combat “Election Disinformation” Which Includes Meme Stamp-Style Watermarks and Reliance on “Fact Checkers”

And so it begins. In fact, it hardly ever stops – another election cycle in well on its way in the US. But what has emerged these last few years, and what continues to crop up the closer the election day gets, is the role of the most influential social platforms/tech companies.

Pressure on them is sometimes public, but mostly not, as the Twitter Files have taught us; and it is with this in mind that various announcements about combating “election disinformation” coming from Big Tech should be viewed.

Although, one can never discount the possibility that some – say, Microsoft – are doing it quite voluntarily. That company has now come out with what it calls “new steps to protect elections,” and is framing this concern for election integrity more broadly than just the goings-on in the US.

From the EU to India and many, many places in between, elections will be held over the next year or so, says Microsoft, however, these democratic processes are at peril.

“While voters exercise this right, another force is also at work to influence and possibly interfere with the outcomes of these consequential contests,” said a blog post co-authored by Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith.

By “another force,” could Smith possibly mean, Big Tech? No. It’s “multiple authoritarian nation states” he’s talking about, and Microsoft’s “Election Protection Commitments” seek to counter that threat in a 5-step plan to be deployed in the US, and elsewhere where “critical” elections are to be held.

Critical more than others why, and what is Microsoft seeking to protect – it’s all very unclear.

But one of the measures is the Content Credentials digital metadata scheme, similar to meme stamp watermarking. However, considering that the most widely used browser, Chrome, is not signed up to the group (C2PA) that spawned Content Credentials, the question remains how helpful it will be to political campaigns using this tech in their images or videos, “to show how, when, and by whom the content was created or edited, including if it was generated by AI.”

Meta (Facebook) also announced its own effort in the same vein, seeking to combat altered content such as deepfakes – in case they “merge, combine, replace, and/or superimpose content onto a video, creating a video that appears authentic (… and) would likely mislead an average person.”

Roman Chervinsky, a colonel in Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, was integral to the brazen sabotage operation, say people familiar with planning

A senior Ukrainian military officer with deep ties to the country’s intelligence services played a central role in the bombing of the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline last year, according to officials in Ukraine and elsewhere in Europe, as well as other people knowledgeable about the details of the covert operation.

The officer’s role provides the most direct evidence to date tying Ukraine’s military and security leadership to a controversial act of sabotage that has spawned multiple criminal investigations and that U.S. and Western officials have called a dangerous attack on Europe’s energy infrastructure.

Roman Chervinsky, a decorated 48-year-old colonel who served in Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, was the “coordinator” of the Nord Stream operation, people familiar with his role said, managing logistics and support for a six-person team that rented a sailboat under false identities and used deep-sea diving equipment to place explosive charges on the gas pipelines.

Palestinian Woman Whom Liberal Media Compared to Rosa Parks Is Accused of Threatening to Drink Jews’ Blood and Eat Their Skulls

A Palestinian who was heralded as a “hero” and compared to Rosa Parks by liberal media after she assaulted an Israel Defense Forces soldier in Nabi Selah, a village in the West Bank, was arrested Monday by the IDF for allegedly inciting terrorism and calling for drinking the blood of Jews.

“The IDF has carried out substantial numbers of counterterrorism activity since Oct. 7 and has apprehended hundreds of suspects. Overnight, the IDF carried out activity to apprehend individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activity and incitement,” the IDF said. “During the activity, Ahed Tamimi, who is suspected of inciting violence and calling for terrorist activity to be carried out, was apprehended in the town of Nabi Saleh. Tamimi was transferred to Israeli security forces for further questioning.”

Tamimi’s arrest pertained to a social media post allegedly from her social media account, which called for Palestinians to drink Jewish blood and eat their skulls.

“Our message to the herd of settlers, we are waiting for you in all the West Bank cities from Hebron to Jenin – we will slaughter you and you will say what Hitler did to you was a joke, we will drink your blood, and eat your skulls, come on, we are waiting for you,” the image, posted to IG Stories, allegedly said.

Tamimi’s mother first denied that the posts were from her daughter’s official account, and later said the account was hacked.

How Israel’s Spymasters Misread Hamas

For two years, Menachem Gida wrestled with a dark sense of foreboding.

The communications hobbyist was part of a team of volunteers who, using a “satellite farm” in southern Israel, compulsively monitored Gaza’s communications networks and Arab media, passing on nuggets of information to the Israeli military.

It was a semi-formal relationship. But when they repeatedly warned that Hamas fighters were conducting elaborate war games near the border, the amateur snoops were brushed aside. “The Israeli military officer told us: ‘You’re not important, we don’t need you,’” Gida said.

Gida was not alone. Michael Milstein, an ex-military intelligence officer, told his former colleagues and wrote numerous articles in the press saying that Israel’s approach to Hamas was not working — but nobody paid much attention. “The writing was on the wall,” said Milstein, a former government adviser on Palestinian affairs in Gaza and the West Bank. “Hamas was preaching war.:

Even warnings from Israel’s Combat Intelligence Corps, which monitors the country’s frontier with Gaza, were ignored. One soldier, Noa Melman, told her superiors earlier this year that Hamas militants were practising attacks on a mock fence, blowing it up again and again.

“But everyone treated it like it was normal, like it was routine,” she said in a subsequent television interview.

...The synchronised attack shattered Israel’s faith in its military and intelligence services. Not only had they failed to track what one of its main enemies was planning, they had ignored multiple warnings that Hamas was preparing a major offensive, often in plain sight.

....The lessons that Israeli security officials have drawn from their failure to anticipate the assault have deadly implications. Their conclusion is that Israel can no longer depend on intelligence to provide an early warning of attacks from Gaza, or on the country’s military might to deter them. Instead, it must pre-empt potential threats by directly eliminating them.

“The only solution is: no more relying on intelligence,” the senior Israeli official said. “Deterrence is no longer enough . . . It is a new paradigm.”
