Complicit in Genocide: Where Israel Gets Its Weapons From
Over 9,000 Palestinian women have been killed since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. Mothers have been the largest share of Israeli killings, at an average of 37 mothers per day since October 7.
The numbers above, from the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza and the Red Crescent Society respectively, only convey part of the suffering experienced by 2.3 million Palestinians in the Strip.
There is not a single section in Palestinian society that has not paid a heavy price for the war, although women and children are the ones who have suffered most, constituting over 70 percent of all victims of the ongoing Israeli genocide.
True, these women and their children are killed at the hands of Israeli soldiers, but they are murdered with US-western supplied weapons.
Now, however, we are told that the world is finally turning against Israel, and that the west’s nod of approval to Tel Aviv to carry on with its daily massacres may soon turn into a collective snub.
This claim was expressed best in the March 23 cover of the Economist magazine. It showed a tattered Israeli flag, attached to a stick, and planted in an arid, dusty land. It was accompanied by the headline “Israel Alone”.
... But to claim that Israel now stands alone is not entirely accurate, at least not yet.
Though many of Israel’s traditional allies in the west are openly disowning its behavior in Gaza, weapons from various western and non-western countries continue to flow, feeding the war machine as it, in turn, continues to harvest more Palestinian lives.
This compels the question: Does Israel truly stand alone when its airports and seaports are busier than ever receiving massive shipments of weapons coming from all directions? Not in the least.
Almost every time a western country announces that it has suspended arms exports to Israel, a news headline appears shortly afterwards, indicating the opposite. Indeed, this has happened repeatedly.
Last year, Rome had declared that it was blocking all arms sales to Israel, giving false hope that some western countries are finally experiencing some kind of moral awakening....
Another country that is also ‘honoring’ its previous commitments is Canada, which announced on May 19, following a parliamentary motion that it had suspended arms exports.
The celebration among those advocating an end to the genocide in Gaza were just getting started when, a day later, Ottawa practically reversed the decision by announcing that it, too, will honor previous commitments....Read more⤵️

Israel Bombing Iranian Embassy is INSANE
There is no overstating just how absolutely insane this is. There is no precedent - NONE - of a state deliberately bombing an embassy. It didn't even happen during WW1, WW2 or even the 19th century. Heck even during the medieval era and Roman empire, the protection of envoys and messengers - even from enemy states - was a recognized norm.
The only other historical instance was NATO bombing the Chinese embassy in Belgrade in 1999, killing 3 Chinese journalists, but the U.S. profusely apologized, Bill Clinton publicly said it was a mistake (something China still doesn't believe to this day), compensated the families and paid to rebuild the embassy. All this highlighting how profound a taboo this is in international relations.
Israel now doing this - and it obviously isn't a mistake - shows just how rogue and unhinged it has become as a state. It's literally become beyond the pale on a scale that goes back centuries, even millennia.
If the world doesn't forcefully respond to this, it undermines the very core of international relations: the sanctity of diplomacy. And if that's the case, we're literally entering a world we've never known.

Israeli Airstrike Hits Iranian Consulate Building in Damascus, High-Level Iranian General Reported Killed, 7 Killed
On Monday, an Israeli airstrike leveled an Iranian consulate building that’s next to the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus, marking a significant escalation in Israeli attacks on Iranians in the region.
At least seven people were killed in the strike, including Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iran has confirmed the death of Zahedi, who oversaw the IRGC’s Quds Force operations in Syria and Lebanon and is vowing a harsh response.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani Tehran will “decide on the type of response and punishment against the aggressor.” According to AP, the IRGC said the strike also killed Zahedi’s deputy and five other Iranian officers.

Israeli Strike Kills 7 Aid Workers in Gaza, World Central Kitchen Halts Operations
As the incident drew global outrage, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday his country’s forces had “unintentionally hit innocent people” in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday his country’s forces had “unintentionally hit innocent people” in the Gaza Strip in the past day, after an airstrike killed seven aid workers with the disaster relief charity World Central Kitchen.
The U.S.-based nonprofit group, founded by celebrity chef José Andrés, said it was immediately pausing its operations in the region and Cyprus said that ships carrying aid were turning back after the incident — a major setback for efforts to get food into Gaza by sea for a population that has been pushed to the brink of starvation by the Israel-Hamas war.
Andrés said he was “heartbroken and grieving” for his colleagues who were killed.
“The Israeli government needs to stop this indiscriminate killing,” he wrote on X. “It needs to stop restricting humanitarian aid, stop killing civilians and aid workers, and stop using food as a weapon.”
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces did not confirm that it was responsible for the deaths, and said that it would be opening a probe into the incident.

According to John, The Justice Dept. has made an offer for Mr. Assange to plea guilty to a reduced charge of misuse of classified information. As part of the deal, Assange would be considered to have served his time, and he would be released from Belmarsh and allowed to return to his home country of Australia.
He said not just no, but hell no — that he will not be responsible for the future prosecution of an American journalist because he set a precedent by taking a guilty plea to an espionage charge.
This is a very principled stance of Julian Assange. To take into consideration the well-being of other journalists, while he is suffering greatly, is admirable. One must also consider that if extradited, he will face an unfair trial in the US and is therefore likely to be convicted on multiple counts, which would set an even worse precedent for journalism.
Of course, the appropriate outcome would be for the US to drop the charges, and the decision to take a plea deal is Assange’s decision not ours. But this is a matter of life and death, and I do not think one man should carry the burden for all journalists. No one should fault Assange if he were to take a deal. And if my friend or family member was in this situation, I would encourage them to save their life and take the deal.
