Umm… Excuse Me? Ben-Gvir, Israel’s Minister of National Security (key member of Netanyahu’s coalition) says President Trump is NOT ALLOWED to make a deal with Iran

He was asked about a potential “bad agreement” with Iran “like the one that Trump” [might negotiate].

He responded:
.. I know that Prime Minister Netanyahu and all of us as members of the cabinet… as the government of Israel cannot allow this to happen… This is an agreement that can harm the state of Israel, and we will not allow this to happen.

Arab, Islamic Nations Unite to Condemn Somaliland Opening Embassy in Occupied Jerusalem

Israel and the UAE are seeking to use the breakaway region of Somaliland to project power in the maritime chokepoints of the Gulf of Aden and Bab

Fifteen Arab and Islamic countries condemned on 24 May the decision of the breakaway region of Somaliland to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem.

The foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Turkiye, Pakistan, Indonesia, Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Oman, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, and Mauritania denounced the move in a joint statement on Sunday.

The countries condemned "in the strongest terms the illegal and unacceptable step taken by the so-called 'Somaliland' region in opening a purported 'embassy' in occupied Jerusalem," according to the statement.

The countries issued the statement one week after Israeli President Isaac Herzog welcomed Somaliland's first-ever ambassador to Israel, Dr. Mohamed Hagi, at the President's Residence in occupied Jerusalem.

"This new and important partnership between our countries will lead to a future of cooperation in a variety of fields – for the benefit of both our peoples and the entire region," Herzog stated.

Seven countries have opened embassies in Jerusalem since the US, under President Donald Trump, recognized the city as Israel's capital in 2017.

The decision sparked widespread international condemnation, given that Israeli forces illegally occupied East Jerusalem during the Six-Day War in 1967, which Palestinians call the Naksa.
Since then, Israel has colonized East Jerusalem in violation of international law by expelling indigenous Palestinian Muslims and Christians and facilitating the settlement of Jewish Israelis in their place.

The 15 countries rejected any unilateral measures to entrench "an illegal reality in occupied Jerusalem or conferring legitimacy on any entities or arrangements that contravene international law and relevant United Nations resolutions."

The statement reaffirmed the fact that "East Jerusalem has been occupied Palestinian territory since 1967" and said any measures seeking to alter its legal or historical status are "null and void."

The foreign ministers also expressed full support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, rejecting any unilateral actions that undermine Somali sovereignty.

In April, Somalia condemned Israel's appointment of an ambassador to the breakaway region of Somaliland, calling the move a "breach" of its sovereignty and international law.

Over 50 Countries Continued to Arm Israel During Genocide of Palestinians in Gaza: Report

Dozens of countries that ratified the Genocide Convention still supplied arms to Israel even after the ICJ issued a provisional ruling that Israel was likely committing genocide in Gaza

An Al-Jazeera investigation published on 23 May revealed that military-grade products from at least 51 countries and self-governing territories kept entering Israel even after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a provisional ruling over the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

In January 2024, the UN's top court ordered Israel to take all measures to prevent genocidal acts in Gaza. By then, Israel's brutal bombing of Gaza had killed more than 26,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

However, countries across the globe continued to provide weapons and military assistance to the Israeli military, the Al-Jazeera report found.

Using Israeli Tax Authority (ITA) import data, customs records, and freedom of information requests, the Al-Jazeera investigation found the military-related goods were shipped to Israel from countries across Europe, Asia, North America, and South America, including from many that have signed the genocide convention.

In some cases, the military supplies originated from countries that had publicly imposed arms embargoes on Israel or had at least partially suspended arms supplies to the country.

According to the ITA data, Israeli arms imports increased after the ICJ ruling, in particular munitions imports.
The five biggest military suppliers to Israel—namely the US, India, Romania, Taiwan, and the Czech Republic—all boosted their shipments of military equipment to Tel Aviv following the ruling.

ITA data showed that 2,603 consignments of military-related goods valued at $885 million were sent to Israel between October 2023 and October 2025. Of those, $805 million worth came after the January 2024 ruling.

❗️🇺🇸/🇮🇷 BREAKING: President Trump announces the end of the U.S. naval blockade on Iran

In return, he asks Iran to do a bunch of things — many of which have not been agreed to, including handing over the enriched uranium stockpile.

🇺🇸/🇮🇷 IRIB: ‘A final decision to open the Strait of Hormuz has not yet been made, but Iran will review it’

@Middle_East_Spectator
— I suspect Iran will also soon issue a statement, and likely an MoU will be officially announced soon.

Now what matters is the details.

‘President Trump is headed to the Situation Room now to decide whether to accept the deal with Iran’

🇺🇸/🇮🇷 Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency:

‘Informed sources have rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's new claims about a possible agreement with Iran, describing his statements as ‘a mix of truth and lies’ and an attempt to show a fake victory. The MoU is in the final stages of ratification in Iran, but a final decision has not yet been made.

In contrast, Trump has already raised issues that contradict the clauses of the MoU text:

1. Strait of Hormuz: Trump has claimed that Iran is obliged to open the Strait of Hormuz without receiving fees, but there is no such clause in the text of the agreement. Iran has emphasized that after the naval blockade is lifted, it will open the Strait based on its predetermined arrangements. These arrangements could range from monitoring and inspecting ships to providing services and security, which according to Fars correspondents, Iran is preparing the ground for these arrangements.

2. Destroying the enriched uranium materials: Trump has claimed that Iran will dismantle or destroy its enriched uranium stockpile. Informed sources emphasize that not only is there no such a clause in the memorandum of understanding, but this claim is fundamentally baseless.

There are also key clauses of the agreement that Trump has skipped:

1. Immediate release of $12 Billion in frozen assets to Iran. According to the text of the agreement, this amount must be paid immediately and until that has been completed, Iran will not enter any further negotiations.

2. Ceasefire in Lebanon.

According to informed sources, only if these issues are resolved will Iran enter into talks regarding the lifting of all sanctions and the nuclear issue, in accordance with its red lines.‘

— Iranian TV does not seem to care that much about Trump’s post.

It was not even mentioned on the 7:30 PM evening news, and they’re just playing the prayer call as usual.

❗️🇺🇸/🇮🇷 NEW: Informed sources told Al-Jazeera’s Iran correspondent Ali Hashem that Trump’s post about lifting the naval blockade was an Iranian precondition before moving to next steps of the MoU

• He also confirms there have been no discussions on the nuclear file.

• A ceasefire announcement between Israel and Hezbollah is also expected before any further steps.

@Middle_East_Spectator
🇺🇸/🇮🇷 NOTE: It is unusual and strange that President Trump has lifted the naval blockade before an MoU has been mutually agreed by both sides

In the post, Trump even says he is still making his ‘final determination’ on the deal. So why was the blockade lifted if he hasn’t agreed to the MoU yet?

It is either a massive American concession (a show of ‘goodwill’), or Trump is desperate for some reason.

And most importantly, what will Iran do next. Will the Strait actually open?
