IDF Intel. Saw Hamas Using Hundreds Of Israeli Sim Cards In Gaza Before Oct. 7 — Jerusalem Post
"The fact that so many Hamas members were switching to Israeli SIM cards could have been strong evidence of a potential invasion."
Dozens to hundreds of Hamas members activated Israeli SIM cards in the early morning hours of October 7, just before the massacre began, Israeli censorship cleared for publication on Monday – four months later. IDF intelligence and the Shin Bet noted the activity in real time.
This could have very well been an indication of a potential invasion. Despite the evidence however, the overall approach at the time was that Hamas would not dare try invading, because Israel’s technology would give prior warning, and any invaders would be killed by overwhelming Israeli air power and reinforcement forces, which would arrive in time to stop an invasion, and also because an Israeli counterattack would be devastating.

Hours Before Hamas Attack, IDF Noticed Dozens Of Terrorists Activating Israeli Sims
At around midnight before Hamas’s October 7 onslaught, Israeli intelligence officials identified that dozens of terror operatives in the Gaza Strip had activated Israeli SIM cards in their phones, the Israel Defense Forces acknowledged on Monday.
The massacre in southern Israel was launched hours later, at 6:30 a.m., during which some 3,000 Hamas-led terrorists burst across the border into Israel from Gaza by land, air and sea, killing some 1,200 people and seizing 253 hostages of all ages — mostly civilians — under the cover of a deluge of thousands of rockets fired at Israeli towns and cities.
The IDF censor allowed some details of the SIM cards case to be published after it was reported during a live Channel 14 news broadcast on Sunday, although it did not verify the report, which claimed some 1,000 SIMs were activated simultaneously at midnight.
...As the devices with Israeli SIMs had been activated in the past, without anything happening, this led Israeli intelligence officials to believe Hamas could again be carrying out an exercise, and this was not seen as a definitive sign of a planned attack. They decided to continue consultations on the matter throughout the night.
...The IDF has said it will investigate all the incidents in the lead-up to the October 7 attack.
It was previously reported that on the night between October 6 and 7, hours before the early morning assault, an email was sent from an IDF base on the Gaza border describing “certain signs coming from Gaza” about an imminent attack. At the same time, the Shin Bet security agency also saw signs that something was up.
....The IDF’s operations chief arranged his own consultation ahead of Halevi’s, found the same signs of an imminent attack and sought explanations as to whether this was a drill or a strategic operation against Israel set for the coming hours. That consultation concluded that no definitive explanation could be reached, and sought additional intelligence from the IDF’s 8200 signal intelligence unit.
When they held their consultation, Halevi, the head of IDF operations and the Southern Command chief were updated on the signs of an imminent attack.
....Israel had multiple sources of information on Hamas’s drills and other preparations for an assault in the weeks ahead of October 7, reportedly including a 2022 Hamas attack plan.

Ex-ISIS chief Appointed as Commander of US-Backed Militia in Syria
US forces have been training the Syria Free Army in its occupation base in Al-Tanf, eastern Syria
The Syria Free Army (SFA), a US-backed militant group being trained inside Washington’s Al-Tanf base in eastern Syria, appointed a former ISIS chief as their commander on 29 February.
“Today, the Syrian Free Army conducted a change of command and welcomed a new commander of the SFA. We thank COL Farid al-Qasim for 16 months of dedicated service to the SFA, the local community, and the 55-kilometer area,” the SFA said on Thursday via its Facebook page.
“We are excited for the new opportunities that [Colonel Salem Turki al-Antari] will bring to the SFA and the leadership he will provide. This step continues the SFA mission in the Region to secure and stabilize the 55 and defeat Da'esh (ISIS),” the statement added.
An SFA spokesman told the Syrian news outlet Enab Baladi that the change in leadership was routine and not the result of a dispute or problem.
He added that Washington did not interfere in the appointment, as it came as an internal decision within the faction. Muhammad al-Khalidi, the head of a local council in the US-occupied Al-Rukban area in eastern Syria, told the outlet otherwise, saying Qasim had been “provoking tribal divisions in the region.”
Qasim’s replacement, Salem Turki al-Antari, is from the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra. He joined ISIS in 2014, going by the nickname Abu Saddam al-Ansari. The extremist group appointed him as the Emir of the Badia desert region in Homs.

Amid American opposition, Arab nations failed Thursday overnight to get immediate support for a UN Security Council statement that would have blamed Israeli forces for the more than 100 reported deaths as Palestinians in northern Gaza swarmed an aid convoy.
Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian UN ambassador, told reporters after an emergency closed council meeting on the deaths, that 14 of the 15 council members supported the statement put forward by Algeria, the Arab representative on the body.
Algeria’s draft declaration expressed “deep concern,” and stated that the situation was “due to opening fire by Israel forces.”
...Hamas has blamed the Israel Defense Forces for a reported 104 deaths in the early morning hours. The military said it did not fire at the crowd rushing the main aid convoy of aid trucks that entered northern Gaza early Thursday morning. It acknowledged that troops opened fire on several Gazans who moved toward soldiers and a tank at an IDF checkpoint, endangering soldiers. It argued most people had been killed in a stampede and asserted that fewer than 10 of the casualties were a result of Israeli fire.

X Says It Will Reduce the Visibility of Posts That Purposely Ignore a Person’s Preferred Pronouns
X appears to be returning to old Twitter's controversial "misgendering" ideas, this time shadow banning instead of an account suspension.
For some reason quietly, X has started enforcing revised rules, detailed in its platform guidelines for users – among other things, adding a section to the “Abuse and Harassment” that concerns the use of pronouns, and speech referring to persons “transitioning” (in terms of transgenderism).
The “amended” rules came into force at some point between January 24 and 27 this year, and should an X user be found to “purposefully” address another using a pronoun different than what that user has chosen for themselves, they can expect to be (and they ostensibly already are) punished by having their posts’ visibility on the platform “reduced.”

Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz, head of the opposition National Unity party, will travel to Washington on Sunday despite objections from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ynet reported on 2 March.
The upcoming trip has angered Netanyahu, who views Gantz as a rival and possible challenger to the prime minister post. Hebrew media cited associates of Netanyahu as saying that he has “made it clear to Minister Gantz that the State of Israel only has one prime minister.”

A DC Family Is Struggling To Get Their Car Back From Police After Carjackers Took Their Vehicle At Gunpoint.
The police found the car, but expect the family to pay $2000 in fees to get it out of impound.
On top of that, they owe for their robbers’ traffic ticket.
She said after a long night of driving for a food delivery service, her husband went to park their car and got carjacked in Northwest D.C.
...It turns out that police found her SUV in a parking lot at a nearby apartment complex. That was two months after it was taken, but she didn't find out for over a month after that.
She said she just happened to check her mail at an old address and found a notice from DC's Department of Public Works.
The notice informed her that she would need to pay the towing and storage fees or release her title to the vehicle.
"If I didn't go there to check the mail and just make sure to make sure I didn't have any W-2s, 1099s I would have never even received the letter," said Terrell.
She said she thought she could just go pick up her car because she was the victim in this situation. Instead, she was hit with a bill over $2,000 for all of the days her car sat in the lot.
She said the bill was eventually lowered, but also said thieves added to the financial burden by collecting a traffic camera during their ticket two-month joyride.

...It turns out that police found her SUV in a parking lot at a nearby apartment complex. That was two months after it was taken, but she didn't find out for over a month after that.
She said she just happened to check her mail at an old address and found a notice from DC's Department of Public Works.
The notice informed her that she would need to pay the towing and storage fees or release her title to the vehicle.
"If I didn't go there to check the mail and just make sure to make sure I didn't have any W-2s, 1099s I would have never even received the letter," said Terrell.
She said she thought she could just go pick up her car because she was the victim in this situation. Instead, she was hit with a bill over $2,000 for all of the days her car sat in the lot.
She said the bill was eventually lowered, but also said thieves added to the financial burden by collecting a traffic camera during their ticket two-month joyride.
