FTC Warns Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, Stripe Over Political Debanking
The FTC just told the four companies that move America's money to stop picking sides, without actually doing anything about it yet.
Four companies that collectively control how most Americans buy and sell things received warning letters this week from FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, threatening enforcement action if they deny customers access to financial services based on political or religious beliefs. The targets are Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Stripe.
As an example, we obtained a copy of the letter sent to Visa for you here .
The letters didn’t name a single specific violation, and they didn’t need to. The track record is already public. PayPal has frozen accounts of several political commentators.
Stripe cut off payment processing for President Trump’s campaign website after January 6, 2021. Both companies have spent years making unilateral decisions about who deserves access to the financial system, hiding behind vague terms of service that give compliance teams almost unlimited discretion.
“Full participation in commerce and public life necessarily requires that law-abiding individuals can access, and freely participate in, our financial system,” Chairman Ferguson wrote.
“It is inconsistent with American values to deny law-abiding individuals the ability to run their legitimate businesses and feed their families because they attracted the ire of rogue American officials, overzealous activists, or, more worryingly, foreign governments seeking to control public discourse,” he continued.
“That is why President Trump’s August 7, 2025, Executive Order on debanking makes clear that it is unacceptable to debank law-abiding citizens due to ‘political affiliations, religious beliefs, or lawful business activities.’”

Israel Blocks Latin Patriarch From Holy Sepulchre On Palm Sunday For ‘First Time In Centuries’
Palestinian Christians suffer regular persecution from Israel's ultra-Orthodox and religious nationalist Jews
The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem was prevented from holding Palm Sunday mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre "for the first time in centuries" on 29 March, after Israeli police blocked him and others from entering the church.
Citing security concerns over the Iran war as a pretext, Israeli police stopped Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and Friar Francesco Ielpo while walking to the church, which was built on the site where Christians believe Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the dead nearly two thousand years ago.
"As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre," the Latin Patriarchate said in a statement.
"This incident is a grave precedent, and disregards the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem," the statement added.
Police said they had rejected a request from the Patriarchate for a Palm Sunday exemption, claiming that rescue vehicles could not access the site in the case of a mass casualty incident resulting from the war with Iran.
Farid Jubran, a spokesperson for the Patriarchate, told Reuters that police had been informed that the mass would be held privately and behind closed doors...
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and commemorates the day Christians believe Jesus entered Jerusalem, welcomed by his followers who placed palm leaves in his path as he rode into the city on a donkey. Easter is celebrated a week later, to mark Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection...
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni criticized the Israeli action... France's President Emmanuel Macron condemned the decision as well, saying that it "adds to the worrying increase in violations of the status of the Holy Places in Jerusalem."...
Under Israeli rule, Christians in the 1948 territories and the occupied West Bank suffer regular persecution, including spitting on clergy, physical harassment, and the vandalism and destruction of churches, cemeteries, and other Christian symbols.
The harassment is carried out by ultra-Orthodox Jews and Jewish religious nationalists and goes largely unchecked by Israeli police.

“The brutal aggression by the Zionist regime against the desalination facility in Kuwait, carried out in recent hours under the pretext of accusing the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a sign of the vileness and depravity of the Zionist occupiers,” the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian army said in a statement.
“We declare that US bases, personnel, and their interests in the region, as well as the military, security, and economic infrastructure of the Zionist regime in the occupied Palestinian territories, remain powerful targets for us,” it added.
The Iranian military went on to urge “countries of West Asia must remain vigilant against the sedition of the US–Zionist axis aimed at destabilizing and destroying the region.”
Regional states “must put an end to the presence of the criminal US army and occupying Zionists in the region,” it stressed.
The attack on the desalination plant took place on Sunday.
“A service building at a power and water desalination plant was attacked as part of the Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, resulting in the death of an Indian worker and significant material damage to the building,” said a spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Electricity Ministry.
This is not the first attack Tehran has labeled a false flag.
Iran has also denied recent strikes on fuel tankers in Oman and a refinery in Iraq’s Erbil, as well as one that targeted an Aramco facility in Saudi Arabia at the start of the month.
US journalist Tucker Carlson reported earlier in March that Mossad agents were detained in Gulf states for planning bombings.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on 15 March that the US has been using its new Lucas drone – modeled after the Iranian Shahed – to carry out false-flag attacks in the region and attribute them to the Islamic Republic.
Tehran has said only US and Israeli-linked military and economic assets in the Gulf will be struck by its forces.
Iran is warning Gulf governments against allowing Washington to use their bases for attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Iran has also denied recent strikes on fuel tankers in Oman and a refinery in Iraq’s Erbil, as well as one that targeted an Aramco facility in Saudi Arabia at the start of the month.
US journalist Tucker Carlson reported earlier in March that Mossad agents were detained in Gulf states for planning bombings.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on 15 March that the US has been using its new Lucas drone – modeled after the Iranian Shahed – to carry out false-flag attacks in the region and attribute them to the Islamic Republic.
Tehran has said only US and Israeli-linked military and economic assets in the Gulf will be struck by its forces.
Iran is warning Gulf governments against allowing Washington to use their bases for attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Spain has barred US-linked warplanes involved in strikes on Iran from using its airspace and bases for combat operations, while allowing logistical support under existing agreements, El Pais reported on 30 March, citing government officials.
“We have denied the United States the use of the Rota and Moron bases for this illegal war. All flight plans involving operations in Iran have been rejected. All of them, including those for refueling aircraft,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said in a statement to Congress.
He confirmed that Spain has denied permission for bombers and tanker aircraft linked to Operation Epic Fury to enter or pass through its airspace, effectively blocking them from using Spanish skies to strike Iran.
Military sources added that the restriction also applies to US aircraft based in third countries, including the UK and France, if their flight paths cross Spain.
An exception remains for emergencies, allowing aircraft to transit or land, but not to carry out operations against Iran.

Leaders order IDF to cause economic damage to Iranian regime, after nearly finishing bombing all military targets outlined at start of campaign
A month into the war with Iran, the Israeli military has almost completed bombing all of the targets it defined for itself at the start of the conflict, and has now been ordered by Israel’s political leadership to shift to hitting “economic” targets of the Iranian regime, The Times of Israel learned on Monday.
Israel’s defense establishment is now in what it described as the “completion phase” of the goals it set out at the start of the war, meaning it believes it has largely achieved its objectives of degrading Iran’s military capabilities and “creating the conditions” for the Iranian regime to fall, The Times of Israel has learned.
The Times of Israel has learned that the defense establishment believes that the Iranian weapon production capabilities have been severely degraded, setting Iran back years. The goal of “creating the conditions” for the Iranian regime to topple has also been achieved “above and beyond,” according to the defense establishment, although it still remains unclear when, or if, the Iranian population will rise up against its oppressive government.
As the IDF has almost completed bombing all of Iran’s weapon production sites, Israeli leaders, including Defense Minister Israel Katz, have ordered the military to carry out strikes on targets that cause economic blows to the Iranian regime.
This included a strike on major Iranian gas infrastructure in the country’s south nearly two weeks ago, and strikes on two of Iran’s largest steel factories on Friday. In both cases, Israel aimed to cause massive economic damage to the Iranian regime, according to security sources.
The evidence supporting the IDF's claims about the destruction of Iran's missile production capabilities "setting it back years" isn't supported. Iran has underground factories that are unreachable by even the most advance bunker busting bombs. Israel is bombing Iran's business and industrial sector because they can't destroy Iranian missile bases nor the launchers nor the factories. They have no other option and this carries the risk of seeing Israel's economy being destroyed in the process.

Christians in Syria's Hama Governorate demonstrated on 28 March to protest sectarian attacks by extremist Sunni mobs the day before that resulted in widespread damage to homes, shops, and cars.
Christian men took to the streets last night in cities across Syria to protest the attacks, including in Damascus, Suwayda, Suqaylabiyah, and Kafrbahm in rural Hama.

Trump Threatens To ‘Blow Up’ Iran’s Desalination Plants
When asked why the president is threatening to potentially commit war crimes, the White House said Iran's 'best move is to make a deal'
President Trump on Monday added Iran’s desalination plants to the list of infrastructure he may “blow up” if a deal isn’t reached to end the war, threatening attacks on the country’s water supply, a clear war crime under international law.
“The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social , though Iran continues to deny negotiations are taking place.
“Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet ‘touched,'” Trump added.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked later in the day why President Trump was threatening what would amount to a potential war crime. “Look, the president has made it quite clear to the Iranian regime at this moment in time, as evidenced by the statement that you just read, that their best move is to make a deal, or else the United States armed forces have capabilities beyond their wildest imagination, and the president is not afraid to use them,” she said.
Earlier in March, Iran said that the US had struck a desalination plant on Iran’s Qeshm Island , affecting the water supply for 30 villages. US Central Command denied that it hit the facility, though the strike was also recorded by the Human Rights Activist News Agency , or HRANA, a US-based and US-funded NGO that’s very critical of the Iranian government. The HRANA didn’t specify if it was a US or Israeli strike.

“Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet ‘touched,'” Trump added.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked later in the day why President Trump was threatening what would amount to a potential war crime. “Look, the president has made it quite clear to the Iranian regime at this moment in time, as evidenced by the statement that you just read, that their best move is to make a deal, or else the United States armed forces have capabilities beyond their wildest imagination, and the president is not afraid to use them,” she said.
Earlier in March, Iran said that the US had struck a desalination plant on Iran’s Qeshm Island , affecting the water supply for 30 villages. US Central Command denied that it hit the facility, though the strike was also recorded by the Human Rights Activist News Agency , or HRANA, a US-based and US-funded NGO that’s very critical of the Iranian government. The HRANA didn’t specify if it was a US or Israeli strike.

Groups associated with Russia and Iran are increasingly turning to cryptocurrency to help fund the purchase of inexpensive military drones and related components, according to a new report from blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis.
Although most drone purchases still rely on traditional financial systems, Chainalysis found that procurement networks are increasingly overlapping with blockchain technology, the public digital ledger underpinning cryptocurrencies. This ledger enables investigators to trace transactions from their source to their final destination.
Researchers at Chainalysis were able to follow cryptocurrency flows from individual wallets linked to drone developers or paramilitary groups to purchases of low-cost drones and parts from online vendors.

A Russian tanker carrying 100,000 tons of oil has arrived in Cuba amid the ongoing US blockade of the island nation, Russian media reported on 30 March.
“The Russian tanker Anatoly Kolodkin, carrying 100,000 tons of crude oil as humanitarian aid, has arrived in Cuba,” the Russian Transport Ministry reported.

A 67-year-old retired teacher who's owned Apple products since 2009 now has her web browsing filtered because she pays for everything with a debit card.
Apple’s iOS 26.4 age verification system is failing UK users who don’t have a credit card or photocard driving license, leaving them with no way to prove they’re adults on devices they’ve owned for years.
The system arrived without warning, without explanation, and without any apparent consideration for the people who don’t fit Apple’s narrow assumptions about what a British adult looks like.
No Warning, No Communication
Apple sent no email. Included no mention of age verification in the iOS 26.4 release notes it shared publicly.
Unless you’d been following the developer beta track, where the feature appeared in February or reading Reclaim The Net’s earlier coverage, the first you knew about it was a prompt on your screen after restarting your phone.
That’s how 35 million UK iPhone users found out their devices now require identity documents to function normally. A “Confirm You Are 18+” label appeared at the top of Settings, and anyone who couldn’t or wouldn’t comply got silently downgraded. Apple’s Web Content Filter switched on, blocking websites across Safari and every third-party browser. Communication Safety is activated, scanning images and videos in Messages and FaceTime for nudity. Features that worked fine the day before now require government-approved proof of adulthood.
A company that controls what software runs on every iPhone it sells decided overnight that UK users needed to hand over identity documents to keep using the devices they already paid for. And it didn’t bother to tell them it was coming.
Reclaim The Net has heard from numerous UK readers who’ve been locked out since the update landed on March 24.
One reader, a 67-year-old retired teacher, has used Apple products since 2009. She doesn’t drive and has never owned a credit card,.. Apple rejects debit cards entirely. Her iPhone now blocks certain apps, filters her web browsing, and scans her messages for nudity.
Another reader let his driving license lapse years ago and doesn’t carry a credit card. His Apple Account is 13 years old, likely five years short of the 18-year threshold Apple uses for automatic verification.
He tried scanning his passport, only to discover Apple won’t accept UK passports at all.
A third reader, a 74-year-old in Edinburgh, doesn’t own a passport, a driving license, or a credit card. She has no path through Apple’s system whatsoever. Her phone now decides which websites she’s allowed to visit.
These aren’t edge cases. Millions of UK adults don’t carry credit cards. ... Apple built a verification system around documents that a significant portion of the adult population doesn’t have, then gave those people no alternative and no warning.
Older UK driving licenses, the paper ones issued before the photocard format launched in 1998, don’t appear to be scannable. Apple’s system requires a photocard, which means anyone still carrying a valid paper license, perfectly legal and accepted elsewhere in the UK, can’t use it.

The invading army has repeatedly targeted UN troops in southern Lebanon
A UN peacekeeper from Indonesia was killed on 29 March in south Lebanon after a projectile struck a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) position near Adchit, according to UN statements, as Israel’s invasion of Lebanon continues.
“We do not know the origin of the projectile. We have launched an investigation to determine all of the circumstances,” UNIFIL said.
The Interim Force confirmed the blast occurred at one of its positions, killing one peacekeeper, while Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry said at least three of its personnel were wounded in the same incident...
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the incident, stressing that “no one should ever lose their life serving the cause of peace,” warning that attacks on peacekeepers are “grave violations of international humanitarian law and may constitute a war crime.”
