US-Israeli War On Iran Kills Nearly 200 Children As Trump Dodges Blame For Elementary School Strike

Debris analysis has determined that the Minab school massacre was caused by US Tomahawk missiles, which Trump claims were 'launched by Iran'

Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani revealed on 10 March that at least 193 infants and children have been killed in the 11 days since the US and Israel launched an unprovoked war on Iran, including an eight-month-old girl, the youngest victim since the start of the aggression.

Mohajerani said the strikes have killed 206 women and children in total, including the 193 minors, adding that a four-month-old girl is the youngest person injured so far.

According to Iranian authorities, the overall death toll since the assault began has surpassed 1,200 people, including Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, while more than 10,000 others have been wounded.

“We did not begin the war, but we will be the ones to end it,” Mohajerani said, adding that Iranian authorities are preparing for multiple military scenarios while continuing defensive operations.

US-Israeli strikes on Iran targeted schools, hospitals, sports facilities, heritage sites, residential neighborhoods, and other civilian infrastructure.

Some of the earliest casualties occurred during the opening hours of the attacks on 28 February, when a strike on Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school reportedly killed more than 170 people, at least 165 of them children.

The New York Times (NYT) reported on 9 March that debris recovered near the site of the elementary school massacre in Minab included fragments of a US-made cruise missile, based on analysis of photographs from the site.

Serial numbers and labels visible on the debris match identification systems used in the US Department of Defense supply chain, the report said.

US President Donald Trump deflected blame for the strike onto Iran itself, claiming that the Islamic Republic acquired US Tomahawk missiles through some illicit means and used them to bomb the school.

Israel Prepares For ‘Extended Campaign’ Against Lebanon Even If Iran War Wraps Up: Report

The Israeli army has killed at least 500 Lebanese since Hezbollah opened its front earlier this month

The Israeli army is preparing for a prolonged war on Lebanon that could potentially extend beyond the current campaign against Iran, according to a report by the Financial Times (FT).

“The Israelis are preparing international players for the prospect that the war with Hezbollah could drag on and last longer than the war with Iran,” sources told the outlet.

“There have also been diplomatic efforts to prevent a broader Israeli operation, with France offering to help disarm Hezbollah,” they added.

One of the sources said that Israel was considering renewing the war on Lebanon even before Hezbollah fired the first rocket barrage early on 2 March. Multiple reports from last year revealed that plans were in place for escalation against Lebanon.

Israel has killed at least 500 Lebanese since Hezbollah opened the front just over a week ago.

❗️Deleted US energy chief post sends oil prices plunging and sparks accusations of wartime market manipulation

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, a former fracking executive, sent markets into a tailspin on Tuesday after claiming on social media that the US Navy had escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz to keep oil flowing. The post was deleted minutes later, but not before oil prices dropped sharply. The White House later admitted the claim was false, while the Energy Department blamed unnamed staff for “incorrectly captioning” the message.

The brief post quickly led to accusations of market manipulation, with analysts questioning who may have benefited from the sudden plunge in oil prices. Critics argued the incident highlights the dangerous overlap between wartime messaging and financial markets. Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi also accused US officials of spreading false information to influence markets, warning that the war could trigger an unprecedented global energy shortfall.

The Strait of Hormuz has become a central flashpoint in the US-Israeli war on Iran. Tehran has warned that vessels linked to aggressor states may not be allowed to pass through the vital waterway, which carries roughly a third of the world’s seaborne crude. Despite Wright’s claim, reports indicate the US Navy has declined repeated requests from the shipping industry to escort tankers through the strait because of the high risk of escalation.

❗️Israeli architect of Dahiye Doctrine calls for policy to be implemented once again in Lebanon

Israeli former chief-of-staff Gadi Eisenkot, architect of the 'Dahiye Doctrine,' called for the policy’s renewed implementation in a statement posted on X on 11 March, as exchanges of fire escalate with Hezbollah along the Lebanese front. Eisenkot claimed northern Israel was “abandoned and paralyzed” under Hezbollah rocket fire and said the situation represented another failure following last year’s Israeli aggression.

The Dahiye Doctrine refers to the Israeli military policy centered on the calculated, large-scale destruction of civilian infrastructure, a strategy first associated with Israel’s bombardment of Beirut’s southern suburbs during the 2006 war. In his remarks, Eisenkot argued the doctrine “has never been more relevant,” urging the Israeli government to grant the army full freedom of action and insisting the campaign must end with the complete dismantling of Hezbollah.

"Any outcome that leaves Hezbollah functioning in Lebanon will be a serious and intolerable blow," he wrote.

📹 The Israeli narrative that Hezbollah was brought to its knees after the 2024 war has unraveled amid ongoing rocket strikes, persistence, and resilience from the Lebanese resistance, including the launch of around 100 rockets toward the occupied Galilee on 11 March during coordinated operations with Iran.

Israel has responded in the only way it knows how: expanding the scope of its attacks, massacring civilians in Beirut, and leveling residential buildings in its southern suburb.

In First Statement, Iran’s New Leader Says Strait Of Hormuz Will Remain Closed And Attacks On US Bases Will Continue

Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, who replaced his slain father as the new supreme leader of Iran, issued his first statement on Thursday , where he said the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed and vowed Iranian attacks on US bases in the region would continue.

“Certainly, the leverage of blocking the Strait of Hormuz must also continue to be used,” Khamenei said in his message, which was issued as a written statement and read on Iranian TV. He suggested that Iran could open “other fronts” in the war and vowed there would be revenge for Iranians who have been killed, including more than 100 girls and boys who were killed by a US strike on an elementary school in the opening hours of the war.

“The retaliation we have in mind is not only related to the martyrdom of the great leader of the Revolution; rather, every member of the nation who is killed by the enemy becomes a separate case in the file of retaliation,” Khamenei said.

“Of course, a limited portion of this retaliation has already taken concrete form, but until it is fully realized, this file will remain open above the others. We will be especially sensitive regarding the blood of our children. Therefore, the crime the enemy deliberately committed against the Shajareh-Tayyebeh school in Minab, and certain similar cases, holds a particular place in this process of accountability,” he added.

The Iranian leader addressed regional countries, saying that Iran wants good relations with its neighbors but would continue targeting US bases as long as they remain. “From now on, we will again be compelled to continue doing this if necessary, although we still believe in the importance of maintaining friendly relations with those neighboring countries,” he said.

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the US Navy is not currently prepared to escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, explaining that US military resources are presently focused on targeting Iran’s military capabilities and weapons production infrastructure. In an interview with CNBC, Wright said the Navy may be ready to begin escort operations later this month, as attacks on commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf continue to disrupt global energy markets.

Oil prices surged amid the escalating tensions, with Brent crude briefly reaching $100 per barrel, reflecting growing concerns over supply disruptions in one of the world’s most critical shipping lanes. Wright’s comments follow a social media post earlier this week that falsely claimed the US Navy had already escorted a tanker through the strait, a statement that was quickly deleted but briefly sent oil prices plunging.

In response to the crisis, more than 30 countries agreed to release 400 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves, including 172 million barrels from the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve, marking the largest emergency release of oil stockpiles in history. Despite the move, markets remain volatile as the security situation in the Persian Gulf continues to deteriorate.
