❗️Washington races to contain oil shock as Iran threatens Hormuz in response to US–Israeli war

As the US and Israel press their war against Iran, Tehran’s response is increasingly centered on the global oil market. According to a report from Bloomberg, by threatening to choke the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Republic is attempting to impose a punishing economic cost on US President Donald Trump, calculating that surging gasoline prices in the US could erode domestic support for an expanding war of choice against a sovereign state.

Roughly one fifth of the world’s oil supply passes through the narrow strait, about 20 million barrels per day, making it the most critical energy chokepoint on earth. Washington and its Gulf allies are scrambling for alternatives. Saudi Arabia’s East West pipeline, built decades ago precisely to bypass Hormuz in the event of confrontation with Iran, can redirect up to 5 million barrels daily from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea, while the UAE operates a smaller line to the Gulf of Oman capable of carrying about 1.5 million barrels per day.

Oil prices have already surged above $100 a barrel following the first waves of strikes on Iranian territory. The White House is now betting that Saudi and Emirati bypass routes can temporarily cushion the shock long enough for Washington to force a political outcome on Tehran. But the calculation rests on fragile assumptions that Gulf infrastructure will remain intact, that tankers can operate safely in a war zone, and that the US-Israeli campaign can end quickly before the economic blowback spirals beyond Washington’s control.

US Rushes New Bomb Shipment To Israel As Troops Seek To Avoid Iran Deployment

The State Department declared an 'emergency' to bypass Congress and send thousands of 1,000lb bombs to Israel

The US State Department on 6 March bypassed Congress to approve the sale of thousands of 1,000 lb bombs to Israel, declaring an “emergency” due to the US-Israel war on Iran.

The $151.8 million deal covers 12,000 BLU-110A/B 1,000-lb bomb bodies, as well as logistics and technical support. These bombs are manufactured by Repkon USA, which is owned by Repkon, a Turkish firm.

By invoking the emergency determination, the State Department waived the normal congressional review period under the Arms Export Control Act.

“This proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a strategic regional partner that has been, and continues to be, an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East,” as a statement from the department claimed.

“The proposed sale will improve Israel’s capability to meet current and future threats, strengthen its homeland defense, and serve as a deterrent to regional threats,” the statement added.

❗️Trump says ending US–Israel war on Iran will be 'mutual' decision with Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that when to end the war with Iran will be a “mutual” decision made with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Speaking by phone with The Times of Israel, Trump said Netanyahu will have input on resolving the conflict.

“I think it’s mutual ... a little bit. We’ve been talking. I’ll make a decision at the right time, but everything’s going to be taken into account,” said Trump.

When asked if Israel could continue to wage a war against Iran even after the US decides to halt taking part in attacks, Trump declined to entertain the idea before adding: “I don’t think it’s going to be necessary.”

According to Iran’s deputy health minister, at least 1,255 people have been killed in Iran so far in US- Israeli airstrikes
