NEW: Tucker slams the deafening silence on free speech erosion: “I am shocked... by how little they care about freedom of expression…”
Glenn Greenwald echoes concerns, targeting the American right’s hypocrisy over free speech.
Greenwald throws a punch at U.S. hypocrisy over Israel boycott laws. “You have to sign a pledge, vowing that you do not support a boycott of Israel,” he reveals, unveiling a stark contradiction.
Tucker observes a disturbing trend: harsh criticism of the U.S. is mainstream, yet a foreign country’s critique gets silenced. He questions, why the disparity?
The query stands: Where do we draw the line on free speech? And who decides?

FED’s Waller Calls Q3 US GDP Growth a ‘Blowout,’ but Newer Data Suggest Slowdown
Federal Reserve policymakers fresh from last week's decision to hold the policy rate steady are weighing strong economic data, some signs of a slowdown, and the impact of higher long-term bond yields as they consider if they will need to hike rates further to bring down inflation.
Third-quarter U.S. economic growth, at an annualized 4.9% rate, was a "blowout" performance that warrants "a very close eye when we think about policy going forward, Fed Governor Christopher Waller said on Tuesday.
An ardent advocate of aggressive Fed rate hikes to battle high inflation, Waller did not include a policy recommendation in his remarks to an economic data seminar at the St. Louis Fed. His presentation also noted signs that job growth was slowing, and what he called the "earthquake" wrought by higher and potentially growth-dimming long-term bond yields.
But in comments to the Ohio Bankers League, Fed Governor Michelle Bowman said she took the recent GDP number as evidence the economy not only "remained strong," but may have gained speed and require a higher Fed policy rate.

House Intelligence Panel Considers a Deadline Extension For Decision on Controversial Surveillance Laws
Section 702 allows intelligent agencies to surveil foreigners without a warrant but has been used against US citizens countless times.
The House Intelligence Committee is currently contemplating a Plan B as they grapple with the deadline surrounding the renewal of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). In the face of the impending year-end deadline, lawmakers may resort to a temporary extension of the current regulations, despite the privacy concerns and the intrusive surveillance issues linked to Section 702.

US to Transfer $320 Million in Precision Bomb Kits to Israel
The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that the Biden administration is planning a $320 million transfer of precision-guided bomb kits to Israel, a show of support for the Israeli onslaught despite the growing civilian death toll.
The report said the administration notified congressional leaders on October 31 that it intended to transfer Spice Family Gliding Bomb Assemblies, which turn unguided bombs into precision-guided munitions that can be fired by Israeli warplanes.
The bombs will be transferred from weapons manufacturer Rafael USA to its Israeli parent company, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. It’s unclear what funds will be used for the transfer or if Israel is purchasing the equipment.
Israel receives $3.8 billion in annual military aid from the US, and the Biden administration is looking to provide another $14 billion to support the Gaza campaign. In the wake of the October 7 Hamas attack on southern Israel, the US began immediately shipping new military equipment to Israel.
According to the Journal, the Pentagon has refused to say how much weaponry, equipment, and other types of aid it has provided Israel since October 7. Besides the material support, the US is flying drones over Gaza, has special operations forces in Israel, and has deployed an enormous amount of firepower to the region.

It’s All About Provoking Your Reaction — October 12th Scott Horton Op-Ed:
So wise up!
With terrorism, as with all asymmetric political action, “the action is in the reaction of the opposition,” as Saul Alinsky, the leftist activist, put it in his book Rules for Radicals.
This isn’t conspiracy stuff, nor impossible “4th dimensional chess”—it’s just plain, old 2-dimentional chess. That’s all.
Hamas, al Qaeda, and similar groups slaughter civilians—beheaded babies or not, they certainly murdered hundreds and hundreds of innocent, civilian Israeli non-combatants in this one (including an extended family member of mine) just as they slaughtered thousands on September 11—for a reason, not simply because they are angry or devils. It’s a tactic. They are trying to provoke a reaction.
They are trying to make you angry, to make you hate, even drive you crazy. Yes—yes—for the purpose of making the more powerful force (i.e. the United States, Israel) do even worse to their own people, such as getting the U.S. to invade Afghanistan and getting Israel to bomb the Gaza strip. Not that al Qaeda was from Afghanistan, but that’s where they were and that’s who they knew were gonna get it. (Also, by the way, U.S. support for Israel’s crimes in Palestine and Lebanon was a huge part of the motive for al Qaeda’s war against the United States in the first place, including for some of the most important pilot hijackers and organizers of the plot.)
This is then meant to provoke still further counter-reactions. It “heightens the contradictions” as the commies used to say. It forces leaders of Muslim states and armed groups everywhere to take a stand. It destroys stability and negotiations and progress, radicalizes new groups and forces everyone back into the fight on one side or the other. It makes every sock-puppet princeling of the Gulf take a stand in support like the Ayatollah or sell out in silence in the most embarrassing way, like Crown Prince bin Salman, etc.
It’s the same reason Bosnian Muslim forces butchered Serbs and Chechen Muslim forces butchered Russians and ISIS slaughtered Shi’ites: to provoke a worse crisis for everyone in the hopes that the overall situation changes to their advantage.
I would note that terrorism is usually as stupid as it is evil; see Bosnia, where they got less and less; Chechnya, Syria and Iraq Wars II and III where they lost outright. Osama’s nemesis, the Saudi monarchy, still stands, and with as degenerate a self-worshiper in the Crown Prince position as he could have ever feared. Hamas may very well not survive this.
But for Israel to completely destroy them would require a level of violence that the civilian population of the Gaza strip, one half of them under 18 years old—all of them trapped with no where to go—simply cannot withstand. Hundreds have already been killed.
Ramzy Baroud argues that a land invasion of the strip will be a catastrophe for Israel too.
The longer this goes on, the greater the danger to the Israeli hostages as well.

Turkey Detains Journalists For “Disinformation”
The free press finds itself under escalating attack in Turkey, where government authorities have, in a disturbing development, detained three journalists.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has urgently implored the government to reverse this intimidating course of action, to no avail thus far.
Independent columnists, Tolga Şardan of T24 and Cengiz Erdinç of Kısa Dalga, have been taken into police custody – a move widely condemned by press freedom and human rights groups. Additionally, Dinçer Gökçe, a news editor with pro-opposition Halk TV, is now subjected to oddly paternalistic court orders to read and summarize books about his profession.
This clampdown on free press was enacted under a 2022 legal mandate which curtails the dissemination of information deemed harmful to national security, public order, or even the country’s general health – in essence, anything that may engender worry or fear among the public.

Car Bomb Kills Russia-Backed Politician in East Ukraine
Ukraine said it carried out a special operation to kill a Russia-backed politician who died as a car bomb exploded in eastern Ukraine.
The assassination is the latest in a series of attacks against separatists and Moscow-installed officials in the Ukrainian regions to which the Kremlin lays claim.
Mikhail Filiponenko, a deputy in the Russia-backed parliament in occupied Luhansk, was killed on Wednesday after an “explosive device detonated” in his car, his son told the Luhansk Information Centre news agency.
Filiponenko, who had been engaged in Luhansk’s pro-Russian separatist movement since 2014, previously acted as one of the top commanders in the army of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic.
In September, he was voted into the regional assembly in a poll that sparked broad international condemnation.
Ukraine’s military intelligence agency said it conducted the operation with resistance forces in Luhansk.

They ignored all the privacy experts and security specialists. They're pushing it all through.
I am not optimistic. But it is not too late yet. Parliament still has to vote about this. Let your MEP know that you oppose the Digital Identity and that you want your MEP to vote against it!

Against the Tide: India Bars Protests That Support the Palestinians
From Western capitals to Muslim states, protest rallies over the Israel-Hamas war have made headlines. But one place known for its vocal pro-Palestinian stance has been conspicuously quiet: Indian-controlled Kashmir.
Indian authorities have barred any solidarity protest in Muslim-majority Kashmir and asked Muslim preachers not to mention the conflict in their sermons, residents and religious leaders told The Associated Press.
The restrictions are part of India’s efforts to curb any form of protest that could turn into demands for ending New Delhi’s rule in the disputed region. They also reflect a shift in India’s foreign policy under populist Prime Minister Narendra Modi away from its long-held support for the Palestinians, analysts say.
India has long walked a tightrope between the warring sides, with historically close ties to both. While India strongly condemned the Oct. 7 attack by the militant group Hamas and expressed solidarity with Israel, it urged that international humanitarian law be upheld in Gaza amid rising civilian deaths.

Netanyahu Envisions ‘Indefinite’ Israeli Occupation of Gaza
Israel has been quietly pushing for other governments to support a plan to push Palestinians into Egypt
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu envisions Israel taking “overall security responsibility” for the Gaza Strip indefinitely if the Israeli war to destroy Hamas is successful, the Israeli leader said in an interview with ABC News that aired late Monday.
“I think Israel will, for an indefinite period will have the overall security responsibility because we’ve seen what happens when we don’t have it. When we don’t have that security responsibility, what we have is the eruption of Hamas terror on a scale that we couldn’t imagine,” Netanyahu said.
When asked if the US would support Netanyahu’s vision, which would have to be achieved by an Israeli occupation, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the issue of the enclave’s future was being discussed. “What we support is that Hamas can’t be in control of Gaza anymore. We can’t go back to October 6,” he said.
“We are having conversations with our Israeli counterparts about what governance in Gaza should look like post-conflict, and I don’t believe that any solutions have been settled upon one way or the other,” Kirby added.
US officials have previously said they don’t want Israel to occupy Gaza after the war, but President Biden has put no conditions on his full-throated support for Israel’s brutal campaign, which has killed over 10,000 Palestinians so far. Bloomberg recently reported that one idea the US and Israel are considering is deploying a multinational force to a post-war Gaza that would include US and other Western troops.
