"I hope that soon they will be effectively used as methods of individual therapy," he added, speaking at a Moscow forum on future technologies.

Zimbabwe Will Attempt to Establish Gold-Backed Currency

Zimbabwe’s government announced Monday (Feb 11) it is introducing a gold-backed currency to replace the country’s nearly worthless dollar, which most businesses have shunned, preferring the U.S. dollar or South African rand.

Minister for Finance and Economic Development Mthuli Ncube told reporters in an online press conference that Zimbabwe was making the move to ensure sustained growth.

“Really this is a quest for currency stability,” Ncube said. “What has emerged over the years is the U.S. [dollar] being the most dominant.

“Going forward, we want to make sure that the growth we have achieved so far—which is very strong—is maintained and even increased,” he said. “We can only do that if we have further stability in the domestic currency. ... And the way to do that is perhaps to link the exchange rate to some hard asset such as gold.”

Australian MPs Pass Motion Urging US and UK to Allow Julian Assange to Return to Australia

The Australian federal parliament voted in favor (86 votes to 42) of urging the US and the UK to allow WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to return to Australia.

This is an "unprecedented show of political support for Mr Assange by the Australian parliament," said Independent MP Andrew Wilkie.

Australian Attorney General Mark Dreyfus confirmed discussing Assange's case with US Attorney General Merrick Garland, emphasizing that "It is time this matter is brought to an end."

Assange remains in Belmarsh prison in London, contesting a US extradition attempt over charges related to the publication of classified documents.

The motion passed by the Australian parliament specifically calls for the US and UK to conclude their pursuit of Assange, allowing him to return to Australia.

RT reported on the matter, dedicating an entire article to it, “‘We will coup whoever we want’:

Elon Musk Sparks Online Riot With Quip About Overthrow of Bolivia’s Evo Morales” - concluding with the sentence that “Although it’s true that Tesla receives lithium from Australia, it is also said to be one of ACISA’s clients.”

In other words, Elon Musk was being disingenuous, implying that Tesla had no direct ties to the situation, and they had nothing to gain from ACISA’s deal with the Bolivian government that was axed just days prior to the coup.

After coming across this, in the midst of the Bolivia story developing and breaking, I found it highly likely that the lithium issue was underpinning Bolivia’s coup, and highly improbable that the important lithium deal being axed days before the coup was a mere coincidence of timing. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck…

🚨 According to the Sinai Foundation, Egyptian authorities have begun the construction of a "security buffer zone" surrounded by high walls to receive Palestinians from Gaza in the event of a mass exodus.

This news comes as Palestinians in Rafah have documented the construction of walls on the border in recent weeks.

The Sinai Foundation revealed that the construction works in eastern Sinai aim to establish a "security area" along the border with the Gaza Strip, intending to host refugees from Gaza in the event of an exodus.

Two local contractors stated that the construction works were awarded to local companies by subcontract from the Sons of Sinai Construction and Building Company, owned by businessman Ibrahim Al-Arjani, who is close to the Sisi regime. Arjani also profits heavily from extortion of Gazans at the Rafah border crossing. The Sisi regime and its intelligence apparatus own a majority stake in the Organi Group, which includes the Hala company that profits from the Rafah crossing.

The project aims to establish an area surrounded by 7-meter high walls, after clearing the rubble of the original residents' homes destroyed during the so-called "war on terror," which Arjani also significantly oversaw operations of.

In fact, Al-Arjani's mercenaries, the "Knights of Haitham" militia, are heavily overseeing security in the construction area.

The project is expected to be done within ten days, with the work being carried out under the supervision of the Engineering Authority of the Egyptian Armed Forces and in the presence of a heavy security detail.

Two days ago, the Sinai Foundation published a report with photo evidence showing the beginning of construction at a very rapid pace, amid significant security tightening. A 7 meter wall was documented south of Rafah heading towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Researcher Mohannad Sabri noted, "These are serious indications that Egypt might be preparing to accept and allow the displacement of Gaza's population to Sinai, in coordination with 'israel' and the United States."

Israeli Jets Hit Lebanon in Heaviest Strike Since Gaza War Began

Israel on Wednesday (Feb 14) launched its longest and heaviest attack on neighboring Lebanon since the start of the Gaza war, striking several locations in the south, killing at least one Hezbollah fighter and three civilians, and raising further the specter of war between the two long-standing enemies.

Israeli fighter jets began “an extensive wave of attacks in Lebanese territory,” Israeli Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari announced as the strikes were underway, saying details were to follow.

The action followed a morning attack launched from Lebanon into the northern Israeli town of Safed that struck a house and an Israel Defense Forces base.

Netanyahu Doesn’t Listen to Anyone, According to EU’s Top Diplomat

Supplies of weapons to Israel should be reduced as the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ignored international calls to avoid civilian casualties during the IDF’s military operation in Gaza, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has said.

During a press conference on Monday (Feb 12), Borrell recalled the words of US President Joe Biden, who said last week that the Israeli response to the Hamas attack had been “over the top.” He also noted that other high-ranking Western officials have been making similar statements recently.

“Well, if you believe that too many people are being killed, maybe you should provide less arms in order to prevent the killing of so many people,” the EU’s top diplomat suggested.

”If the international community believes that this is a slaughter, that too many people are being killed, maybe we have to think about (stopping) the provision of arms,” he added.

Borrell then lashed out at the Israeli PM personally, saying “everybody goes to Tel Aviv, begging: ‘Please don’t do that, protect civilians, don’t kill so many.’ How many is too many? What is the standard?” But all the pleading remains in vain, because “Netanyahu doesn’t listen to anyone,” he stated.

The Feb. 12 video came five days after three top executives—CEO Steve Rye; Chief Business Officer Ryan Boland; and Chief Editor Janet Selvig, Mercola’s sister—received termination letters signed by a Laura Berry, who had not worked at the company before but claimed in the letter she was the new Mercola CEO. In the Feb. 12 video, Mercola announced he will visit the offices on Feb. 14 with “my new CEO who's a brilliant, unbelievable woman who's going to take us to the next level,” but offers no name. He also promises a “surprise guest” who will be the company’s chief operating officer.

Selvig said she confronted her brother about the odd behavior on Jan. 31 after seeing hours of videos of his trance channeling sessions with Bahlon. “I just felt immediately that he was being taken advantage of,” she said.

The confrontation did not go well. Selvig said her brother was very dismissive of her concerns and defended his work with Clay. “He thinks the book is going to save the world,” Selvig said. “He believes that he's [Mercola] a god and he's been reincarnated. And he even referred to himself as the new Jesus.”

“I've worked with my brother for almost 40 years."

House Intel Chair Accused of Disclosing "Serious National Security Threat" to Get Ukraine Aid Passed

Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, made a vague public warning on Wednesday (Feb 14) about an unspecified “serious national security threat,” prompting accusations that he did so to pressure the House to pass the $95 billion foreign military aid bill that just made it through the Senate.

US officials later told the media that the “unspecified threat was related to Russian space capabilities and a plan to develop a nuclear weapon that can target satellites." For their part, Russia dismissed the claim and said the US was “making up malicious stories.”

Turner called for the Biden administration to declassify information about the so-called threat and he has come under fire from some members of Congress for making the public spectacle. Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) wrote a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) calling for an inquiry into Turner’s decision to release the information.

Ogles said Turner likely did so to bolster support for passing new aid for Ukraine and for extending Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which allows mass warrantless surveillance of Americans. Section 702 was due to expire but was extended by the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act until April 19.

The Last Chance for Julian Assange

It’s now or never…

This “may be the final chance for Julian Assange to prevent his extradition to the United States,” WikiLeaks warned.

His years long imprisonment in HM Prison Belmarsh in London, UK comes without having been convicted of any crime.

The two judges will reevaluate a decision made in June 2023, which denied the journalist’s request to make further appeals and struck down parts of a January 2021 ruling, which had rejected Assange’s extradition due to concerns about the risk of suicide and his deteriorating health.

Stella Assange, Julian’s wife, has confirmed that the hearing will occur at the Royal Courts of Justice.

....In what may be the final chance for the UK to stop Julian’s extradition, there will be a show of force outside the courtroom at 8:30am BST on February 20-21 by everyone who cares about the persecution of Julian Assange. There will be solidarity protests from around the world.

House Passes Bill to Work Against Countries Normalizing with Syria

On Wednesday (Feb 14), the House passed a bill that prohibits the US from opening diplomatic relations with the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad and expands harsh sanctions on Syria to prevent other countries from normalizing with Syria.

The Assad Regime Anti-Normalization Act passed in a vote of 389-32, demonstrating broad bipartisan support for the economic war against Syria. Only 28 Democrats and four Republicans voted against the bill. The legislation now heads to the Senate.

The bill was introduced as a reaction to Arab countries repairing relations with the Assad government and Syria being brought back into the Arab league. Hawks in the US are opposed to Syria’s regional integration and are hoping they can prevent it using sanctions under the Caesar Act.

The Caesar Act was implemented in 2020 and allows the US to sanction any individual or entity that does business with the Syrian government.

On top of the economic sanctions on Syria, the US has about 900 troops occupying the eastern portion of the country, where it backs the Kurdish-led SDF and controls oil fields.

Russian Opposition Leader Alexei Navalny Dies in Prison at Age 47

The Russian activist and Putin critic Alexei Navalny has died in jail, the country’s prison service has said, in what may be seen as a political assassination.

Navalny, 47, was being held in a jail about 40 miles north of the Arctic Circle where he had been sentenced to 19 years under a “special regime.”

In a statement, the federal penitentiary service for the region where Navalny was incarcerated said that he had “felt unwell after a walk and almost immediately lost consciousness.”

“All necessary resuscitation measures were carried out but did not yield positive results,” the statement read. “The paramedics confirmed the death of the convict.” The Kremlin said Putin had been informed of his death but had no further information.

Navalny, who once referred to Muslims as cockroaches that must be exterminated, looked healthy when he appeared by video for a courtroom appeal on Thursday (Feb 15).
