The US Toppling of Imran Khan - Jeffrey D. Sachs

Covert regime change strikes again. This time in Pakistan.

A principal instrument of U.S. foreign policy is covert regime change, meaning a secret action by the U.S. government to bring down the government of another country. There are strong reasons to believe that U.S. actions led to the removal from power of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan in April 2022, followed by his arrest on trumped-up charges of corruption and espionage, and sentencing this week to 10 years imprisonment on the espionage charge. The political objective is to block Pakistan’s most popular politician from returning to power in the elections on February 8.

Covert regime change by the U.S. is shockingly routine. One authoritative study by Boston University professor Lindsay O’Rourke counts 64 covert regime change operations by the U.S. during the Cold War (1947 and 1989)... Since then, U.S. regime change operations have remained frequent, such as when President Barrack Obama tasked the CIA (Operation Timber Sycamore) with overthrowing Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad. That covert operation remained secret until several years after the operation, and even then, was hardly covered by the mainstream media.

All of this brings us to Pakistan, another case where evidence points strongly to U.S.-led regime change. In this case, the U.S. desired to bring down the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the charismatic, talented, and hugely popular leader in Pakistan, renowned both for his world-leading cricket mastery and for his common touch with the people. His popularity, independence, and enormous talents make him a prime target of the U.S., which frets about popular leaders who don’t fall into line with U.S. policy.

Imran Khan’s “sin” was to be too cooperative with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, while also seeking normal relations with the United States. ***The great mantra of U.S. foreign policy, and the activating principle of the CIA, is that a foreign leader is “either with us or against us.” Leaders who try to be neutral amongst the great powers are at dire risk of losing their positions, or even their lives, at U.S. instigation, since the U.S. does not accept neutrality. ***

"However, as described in my article series in March 2022⤵️, and further evidenced in this piece…the US does not, or is not, tolerant of neutrality. The “You’re either with us or against us and we will do everything we can do destroy you" mentality makes enemies of friends, especially when you’re the one instigating the drama."

March 2022 — US Hegemony Under Attack as Saudis, UAE, India Ignore Threats of Sanctions, Turn to Russia and China

Saudi Arabia and the UAE appear to be distancing themselves from Western Powers as they explore bolstering their relations with Russia and China. While the US pressures neutral parties to sanction Russia, or possibly face sanctions themselves, Russia and China are building an alternative economic system to that which has dominated the globe for decades.

...BRICS members South Africa and India have remained relatively neutral, although in this author’s opinion they are looking to cozy up with the Russia/China axis and its emerging economic network as they realize that their neutrality makes them out to be an apparent enemy of the US and the NATO alliance — judging by the threats of sanctions by the latter.

The same goes for the gulf states, although they are not BRICS

WHO Report Proposes Working With Social Media Providers and Law Enforcement To Control “Disinformation”

The WHO is increasingly encroaching on online speech.

The United Nations (UN) in general has in the past years proved to be a fine yet unfortunate example of the degradation of an institution that was conceived as an international forum for settling disputes and establishing cooperation and mutual trust between countries – without denting their sovereignty or agency.

Yet from that, it has been turning into another “brick in the globalist wall” – instead of providing a level playing field and ensuring trust, the UN is prostrating itself and its various agencies – these last years very notably the WHO (World Health Organization) – before the global agendas.

Therefore, it’s really unsurprising that the World Health Organization continues to dabble in online information suppression and even censorship, and keeps talking about “disinformation.”

As well, a recent WHO statement gives away that the UN wouldn’t mind following in the footsteps of governments who collude with Big Tech. After all, the UN has been pejoratively referred to as “the world government.”

These days, WHO’s top-of-mind goes this way, as per the post. It’s not the actual health issues, but – “cyber-attacks on health care (and) disinformation.” And these are treated as “health security risks.”

Vetoing Justice In Gaza: The Collapse Of The UN Security Council

The rise in civilian deaths and global conflict shatters all illusions that the UN has any ability to maintain the peace. A US veto at the UNSC to protect genocide in Gaza is the very last straw.

... The UN has systematically, fiduciarily, and overwhelmingly failed to prevent war and uphold peace. From 1946 – a year after the UN was established – to 2022, the world witnessed 285 distinct armed conflicts, alongside numerous smaller-scale skirmishes.

The current genocide in Gaza launched in October 2023 is the latest grim reminder of the UN's failure to fulfill its foundational mission, transforming it from a beacon of hope for peace into a mere provider of aid to mitigate the fallout of its shortcomings.

Since its inception, dozens of expensive UN agencies have sprung into existence because of the international organization's inability to thwart conflict...

And matters are worsening, globally. According to data from Uppsala University in Sweden, armed conflicts of all varieties – be they interstate wars, externally-fueled civil wars, or clashes between various groups and states – have been on the rise since the establishment of the United Nations. In fact, “more state-based conflict battle-related deaths took place in 2022 than any year since 1994.”

Global Conflict Imbalance

Troublingly, this trend shows no sign of abating, particularly in Africa and Asia – especially West Asia. It is notable that the only areas with a decline in conflict incidence are Europe and the Americas. Unsurprisingly, the populations of continents who bear the brunt of armed conflicts harbor doubts about the efficacy of the UN and its Security Council...

How the US Protects Israel at the Security Council

In theory, the UN Security Council is entrusted with maintaining global peace and security, yet finds itself shackled by the recurring exercise of the veto power, particularly when it comes to matters concerning Israel.

As a permanent member state, the US has wielded its veto authority with unabashed frequency to shield the occupation state from accountability over its numerous atrocities against the Palestinian people and its repeated acts of aggression against its West Asian neighbors.

Indeed, the US has resorted to its veto power 89 times since the Council's inception, with over half of those vetoes used to thwart resolutions critical of Israel.
As of 18 December 2023, the US has employed its veto privilege 45 times to block measures addressing Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories and its treatment of the Palestinian people.

Astonishingly, out of the 36 draft resolutions pertaining to Israel and Palestine since 1945, 34 have fallen victim to US vetoes, effectively shielding Tel Aviv from accountability for its violations of international law – including humanitarian and human rights law.

Baghdad Rejects Neighbors 'Settling Scores on Iraqi Soil'

Turkey has escalated its war against PKK fighters in both Iraq and Syria

Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said that Iraq rejects any measures by neighboring countries "to settle scores on its soil" during a meeting with the Turkish defense minister on 6 February.

Sudani's comments come after Turkiye carried out operations on Friday in northern Iraq, killing five members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Turkiye regularly bombs targets in the Dohuk region of northern Iraq as part of its decades-long counterinsurgency war against the Kurdish militant group, which seeks an independent Kurdish state, including in parts of Turkiye.

During the meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, the Iraqi prime minister stated, "Iraq rejects any infringement on its sovereignty and any measures to settle scores on its soil," stressing "the importance of maintaining security in Syria, as it is linked to the national security of Iraq and Turkey."

How the Ukraine Conflict is Designed to Benefit Globalists

Schwab & Putin meet in Davos 2009 picture removed

Last year Russia announced it joined the WEF's "4th Industrial Revolution Network".

The focus:

• economic socialisation
• Artificial Intelligence
• the "internet of things",

All leading to worldwide technocracy and tyranny...

The Russian government is NOT anti-globalist.

This claim is nonsense.

I would attribute the fantasy of Russian opposition to a steady stream of propaganda and what I call the False East/West Paradigm.

It's important to understand that most conflicts between the East and the West are engineered conflicts. The leaders of BOTH SIDES are not really at odds with each other.

Rather, these wars are Kabuki Theater. Wars of convenience to achieve covert ends.

For anyone who doubts, read Antony Sutton's work. He exposes the globalists' playing both sides from the Bolshevik Revolution to WWII. Read more

Pakistan Takes to the Polls Under Total Internet Blackout

The elections come days after the country's most popular candidate was disqualified controversially for disclosing that the US State Department encouraged authorities to remove him from power

Authorities in Pakistan suspended mobile phone and data services nationwide on 8 February as millions take part in crucial elections that have been marred by allegations of pre-vote rigging and the controversial ban of the country's most popular politician.

NetBlocks, a global internet watchdog, confirmed a disruption to mobile phone and internet services “corroborating widespread user reports of outages.” "The ongoing election day internet blackout in Pakistan is amongst the largest we've observed in any country in terms of severity and extent," NetBlocks director Alp Toker told AFP.

... Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja told reporters on Thursday.... “This is the decision of the law and order agencies."

🚨🚨🚨 Breaking — MAJOR X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE: The sun has produced one of the most powerful solar flares in years, an X3.4-class explosion.

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash. The source of the flare appears to be departing sunspot AR3575. Because the blast site was eclipsed by the edge of the sun, the flare was probably even stronger than its X3.4 classification suggests. This was a big explosion.

Hours after the flare's peak, Earth is still feeling the effects of the blast.

This plot shows what NOAA's GOES-18 satellite is seeing right now. The colored lines count the number of energetic protons streaming past the satellite en route to Earth. Green and blue are of special interest because they trace "hard protons" capable of upsetting spacecraft electronics, e.g., causing reboots of onboard computers and temporarily fogging cameras.

The explosion also hurled a bright CME into space.

Unelected EU head, Ursula von der Leyen, blames the European farmer protests on everything except the one thing that is actually causing them. Namely, the deliberate war on agriculture being waged by unelected globalists as a means of seizing control of the global food supply—and thereby control of the global population.

"Farmers are the first in line feeling the effects of climate change. Droughts and floods have destroyed their harvest and threatened their livestock... Farmers are feeling the impact of the Russian war, inflation, the rising costs of energy, the rising cost of fertilisers."

The Biden-Schumer Plan to Kill More Ukrainians - Jeffrey Sachs

The $61 billion will make no difference on the battlefield except to prolong the war, the tens of thousands of deaths and the physical destruction of Ukraine, writes Jeffrey Sachs.

President Joe Biden is refusing to fold a losing hand as he bets with Ukrainian lives and U.S. taxpayer money.

Biden and Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer propose to squander the lives of tens of thousands more Ukrainians and $61 billions of federal funds to keep Biden’s disastrous foreign policy failure hidden from view until after the November election.

The $61 billion will make no difference on the battlefield except to prolong the war, the tens of thousands of deaths, and the physical destruction of Ukraine. It will not “save” Ukraine. Ukraine’s security can only be achieved at the negotiating table, not by some fantasized military triumph over Russia.

Sixty one billion is not nothing. This worse-than-useless outlay would exceed the combined budgets of the U.S. Department of Labor; Environmental Protection Agency; National Science Foundation; and the Women, Infant and Children nutrition program.

Almost exactly 10 years ago this month, Biden did much to put Ukraine on the path to disaster. This is well known to those who have looked carefully at the facts but is kept hidden from view by the White House, the Senate Democrats, and the mainstream media that back Biden. I have previously provided a detailed chronology, with hyperlinks, here[Click source below]

....Russian leaders have repeatedly made clear that NATO expansion to Ukraine is understandably the reddest of Russian redlines. In 2007, President Vladmir Putin stated that NATO enlargement to that date was a cheat on the 1990 promise, and that it must go no further. Despite these clear warnings, including by his own diplomats, George W. Bush Jr. committed in 2008 to expand NATO to Ukraine and Georgia in order to surround Russia in the Black Sea.

William Burns, now C.I.A. director, and then the U.S. ambassador to Russia, wrote a famous memo entitled “Nyet means Nyet,” explaining that Russia’s opposition to NATO enlargement was across Russia’s political spectrum.

Most Ukrainians themselves were also firmly against the plan, favoring neutrality over NATO membership. The Ukrainian Rada declared Ukraine’s state sovereignty in 1990 on the basis of becoming “a permanently neutral state.” In 2009, the people of Ukraine elected Viktor Yanukovych, who ran on a platform of neutrality.

In early 2014, the U.S. decided to help bring down Yanukovych in a coup. This was standard U.S. deep-state operating procedure, one used on dozens of occasions around the world.

Study Finds Media Giants New York Times, CNN, And Fox News Pushing For US War In Yemen

A MintPress study of major U.S. media outlets’ coverage of the Yemeni Red Sea blockade has found an overwhelming bias in the press, which presented the event as an aggressive, hostile act of terrorism by Ansar Allah (a.k.a. the Houthis), who were presented as pawns of the Iranian government. While constantly putting forward pro-war talking points, the U.S. was portrayed as a good faith, neutral actor being “dragged” into another Middle Eastern conflict against its will.

Since November, Ansar Allah has been conducting a blockade of Israeli ships entering the Red Sea in an attempt to force Israel to stop its attack on the people of Gaza. The U.S. government, which has refused to act to stop a genocide, sprang into action to prevent damage to private property, leading an international coalition to bomb targets in Yemen.

The effect of the blockade has been substantial. With hundreds of vessels taking the detour around Africa, big businesses like Tesla and Volvo have announced they have suspended European production. Ikea has warned that it is running low on supplies, and the price of a standard shipping container between China and Europe has more than doubled. Ansar Allah, evidently, has been able to target a weak spot of global capitalism.

Western airstrikes on Yemen, however, according to Ansar Allah spokesperson Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, at least, said that they have had only a “very limited” impact so far. Al-Bukhaiti made these comments in a recent interview with MintPress News.

Biden Admin Admits to ‘Missteps’ in Handling Gaza Genocide But Will Not Alter Policy

A Joe Biden administration official told a group of Muslim American leaders that Israel is unwilling to take steps towards Palestinian statehood

A top US official admitted that the White House had made some missteps in how it has handled the Israeli slaughter in Gaza. President Biden has shipped 25,000 tonnes of weapons to Israel per Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, and refused to place any conditions on the aid the US provides to Israel. The unfettered support has allowed Israel to conduct a genocidal military campaign that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians and pushed hundreds of thousands into famine.

On Thursday, Jon Finer, a deputy national security adviser, told Arab American leaders in Michigan that Biden had made “missteps” in handling Gaza and that Israel had no intentions of allowing Palestinian statehood. The aide made the remarks during a closed-door meeting, but an audio recording was leaked to the New York Times.

“We are very well aware that we have missteps in the course of responding to this crisis since Oct. 7,”
Finer said. The Times did not report if the aide explained what Biden believed his missteps were.

The mistakes Finer admitted Biden had made are rhetorical, such as not issuing a faster condemnation of calls for genocide from Israeli government officials. Many top Israeli government officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, have made remarks that have incited the genocide in Gaza.

After the meeting, participants in the meeting were dissatisfied because Finer would not agree to any policy changes. The US has provided Israel with near-daily weapons shipments that allow the Israeli forces to continue fighting. Washington has refused to condemn any Israeli actions, even well-documented war crimes.
