The Nicaraguan government has started legal proceedings to take Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Canada to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for complicity in the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and other violations of international law.
In a statement, Managua said it has informed the governments of “the [UK], Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada of its decision to hold them responsible under international law for gross and systematic violations to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, international humanitarian law and customary law, including the law of occupation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, in particular the Gaza Strip.”
The statement also states that Nicaragua called on the nations above to “immediately halt” the supply of weapons, ammunition, technology, and other components to Israel as it suspects these items may have been used to “facilitate or commit violations of the Genocide Convention including [...] acts of genocide, attempted genocide, complicity in genocide and conspiracy to commit genocide.”

First, Clinton answered, “I think so,” but after speaking with his others, he said, “It’s not possible.”
Carlson asked Putin if he was sincere about joining NATO, and Putin clarified that he genuinely wanted to know if membership was a possibility.

US Senate Advances $95 Billion Ukraine, Israel Aid Bill After Failed Border Deal
A $95.34 billion bill that includes aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan advanced in the U.S. Senate on Thursday (Feb 8) after Republicans blocked compromise legislation that included a long-sought overhaul of immigration policy.
Senators backed a procedural motion by 67-32, exceeding the 60-vote threshold to advance the bill. Seventeen Republicans voted in favor, in a surprising shift after they blocked the broader bill on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, 17 Republican senators joined with Democrats to begin debate on a version of the foreign aid bill that no longer includes any of the border security provisions. Hours earlier, the bill failed after Republicans panned the bipartisan deal that they had originally demanded.
Among those voting to proceed on the bill was Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, whose support for Ukraine aid is increasingly at odds with the rest of the GOP."

An Israeli official said Israel would not offer a counter-proposal
Israel is backing off from Qatari and Egyptian-mediated hostage talks with Hamas after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the Palestinian group’s latest proposal, The Times of Israel reported on Thursday.
An Israeli official told the Times that instead of offering a counter-proposal, Israel will try to get the US to apply pressure on Qatar, although Doha has insisted it’s only a mediator and cannot control Hamas.
“The main target now is to create pressure from the Americans and other countries on Qatar, and from there on Hamas, in addition to the military pressure, to bring them down from their delusional demands,” the Israeli official said.
Hamas’s proposal involved a 135-day ceasefire in three phases. Throughout the three phases, Hamas would release all remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for Israel freeing thousands of Palestinian prisoners. The goal would be to establish a permanent ceasefire by the end of the 135 days.

Hamas’s proposal involved a 135-day ceasefire in three phases. Throughout the three phases, Hamas would release all remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for Israel freeing thousands of Palestinian prisoners. The goal would be to establish a permanent ceasefire by the end of the 135 days.
