🚨BREAKING: UN Secretary-General: 'Gaza has Become a Graveyard for Children'
GAZA HAS BECOME A GRAVEYARD FOR CHILDREN"
The Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres:
"We have not witnessed numbers of casualties like those we are witnessing now in the Gaza Strip
I am deeply concerned about the clear violations of international humanitarian law that we are witnessing
The Rafah crossing alone does not have the capacity to handle aid trucks of the required size
We are already witnessing a spiral of escalation from Lebanon and Syria to Iraq and Yemen, and this escalation must stop"

US Official Says Israel Has Not Come Close to Destroying Hamas Leadership
The US is refusing to leverage military aid to Israel despite the massive number of civilian casualties
Despite the massive bombing campaign and ground invasion in Gaza, a senior Pentagon official believes Israel has not come close to taking out Hamas’s leadership, The New York Times reported Saturday.
The report reads: “One senior US defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive details, said the operations so far have not come close to destroying Hamas’s senior and middle leadership ranks.”
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 9,770 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli onslaught, including 4,008 children. The Times report said the US was making suggestions to Israel to reduce civilian casualties, such as using smaller bombs, but the Biden administration is refusing to leverage military aid.
According to The Washington Post, the US is not conditioning military aid or using other leverage it has over Israel because it “would be so politically unpopular in any administration and partly because, aides say, Biden himself has a personal attachment to Israel.”

Guns Rights and Domestic Violence Protections Collide at US Supreme Court
When a New Orleans-based appeals court struck down a federal law aimed at protecting victims of domestic violence from firearms - a matter that the U.S. Supreme Court takes up on Tuesday - Phil Sorrells, the conservative gun-owning Tarrant County district attorney in Texas, disagreed.
"When they're involved in this intimate partner violence, they don't need to have access to weapons that are going to ramp up this violence even more," Sorrells said in an interview. "We think that this is a small restriction on your rights that's justified."
The law at issue makes it a crime for a person under a domestic violence restraining order to have a gun. The case represents the latest major gun rights dispute to be argued before the Supreme Court, whose 6-3 conservative majority has taken an expansive view of the right to "keep and bear arms" under the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment.
A Texas man named Zackey Rahimi, who according to court records was the subject of such an order after assaulting his girlfriend in Tarrant County and pleaded guilty to violating the law, has challenged it as a Second Amendment violation.

Facebook Censors Leaked Copy of Nashville Shooter’s Manifesto
Censored by Big Tech after authorities hid it from the public for over seven months.
Tech giant Facebook is censoring a leaked copy of Nashville transgender school shooter Audrey Hale’s manifesto that was obtained and published by conservative commentator Steven Crowder.
The manifesto was collected in the immediate aftermath of the March 27, 2023 mass shooting at Nashville’s The Covenant School, which left six people dead. Usually, these types of manifestos are released within days of the shooting. However, local and federal authorities have spent months refusing to release this manifesto, causing lawsuits to be filed with the hope of forcing transparency.
With no sign of the manifesto being released through official channels any time soon, this leaked copy of the manifesto is the first time, after more than seven months of waiting, that the public has been able to see the contents of the manifesto that authorities are seemingly trying to conceal.

Activists Block Boeing Facility Supplying Bombs to Israel
Company expedited the shipment of 1,000 precision-guided munitions to Israel
More than 75 young activists obstructed every entry point to Building 598 at Boeing in Missouri on Monday, where production takes place for the bombs and ammunition used by Israel in Gaza.
The manufacturing plant is responsible for supplying almost 1,000 bombs, which include Small Diameter Bombs and Joint Direct Attack Munitions to Israel.
Boeing expedited the shipment of 1,000 precision-guided munitions to Israel as the nation intensified its strikes on Gaza after 7 October, Bloomberg reported on 10 October.
The 250-pound Small Diameter Bombs, which are part of a deal signed in 2021, were transported to Israel aboard Israeli Air Force planes from a US Air Force base, Bloomberg reported.
"We are joining millions of people across the US and around the world in demanding an end to Israel's brutal assault on Gaza and its decades-long occupation of Palestine," said Ellie Tang, an organiser with the anti-war youth organisation Dissenters.

South Africa Recalls Diplomats in Israel
South Africa has also instructed its international relations department to take action against the Israeli ambassador in the country
South Africa recalled all of its diplomats in Tel Aviv for “consultation” on 6 October in rejection of continued Israeli atrocities in the Gaza Strip.
“The air strikes in Gaza and the West Bank continue to attack schools, hospitals, ambulances, and civilians. As previously indicated, a genocide under the watch of the international community cannot be tolerated,” South African Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni told reporters.
“Another holocaust in the history of humankind is unacceptable, and the South African government has decided to withdraw all its diplomats in Tel Aviv for consultation,” she added.
The minister also revealed that the cabinet of President Cyril Ramaphosa instructed the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to take action against the Israeli ambassador to South Africa, Eliav Belotserkovsky, for “disparaging remarks … about those who are opposing the atrocities and the genocide of the Israeli government."
Ntshavheni noted that previous Israeli ambassadors to South Africa were clear on the fact that the actions of the Israeli government constituted apartheid.

US, European Officials Broach the Idea of Peace Talks With Ukraine
The move is notable since the US has always discouraged peace talks
US and European officials are finally broaching the possibility of peace talks with Russia in conversations with the Ukrainian government, NBC News reported on Friday.
The position marks a notable shift in US policy toward the war as the US and its closest allies have discouraged the idea of peace talks since Russia invaded in February 2022. Before the invasion, the US refused to engage with Russia on its key security concern: the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO.
The NBC report, which cited unnamed US officials, said the conversations “have included very broad outlines of what Ukraine might need to give up to reach a deal.” Some of the talks took place last month at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, a grouping that’s held meetings since the Russian invasion and includes military representatives from about 50 countries.

Israel’s Nuclear Option Remark Raises ‘Huge Number of Questions’: Russia
Russia’s foreign ministry says Israel appeared to have admitted that it has nuclear weapons and is willing to use them.
Russian officials have joined other countries in expressing concern over the remarks of an Israeli junior minister who appeared to express openness to the idea of Israel carrying out a nuclear strike on Gaza, saying that it raises a “huge number of questions”.
Moscow’s reaction came on Tuesday, days after Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu, said during a radio interview, that the nuclear option would be “one way” to deal with Gaza, implying that, not only is Israel in possession of nuclear weapons – something the country has never admitted – but that it is also willing to use them.
...He also expressed his support for depopulating Gaza and reconquering it to reestablish Jewish settlements there. Regarding the Palestinian population, he said: “They can go to Ireland or deserts; the monsters in Gaza should find a solution by themselves.”
Eliyahu added that anyone waving a Palestinian or Hamas flag “shouldn’t continue living on the face of the earth.”

The Dollar’s Dominance Is Shakier Than Ever
In the months before August’s gathering of BRICS leaders in South Africa, rumors of a new BRICS currency swirled—only to fail to manifest at the summit itself. But don’t confuse a single summit’s headlines with evidence of a trend.
The wake of the BRICS summit splashes into a world much riper for de-dollarization now than it was even six months ago. BRICS, now BRICS+ due to the admission of new members, deserves only partial credit. In the last six months, tectonic shifts in China’s economy and in Washington have cleared the path for de-dollarization—an open route that BRICS+ can now step into.
BRICS+ may bring the global south’s economic statecraft from the 20th to the 21st century. In the 20th century, non-Western economic blocs, such as OPEC, gained geopolitical power through their control over the supply of specific economic commodities, such as oil. In the 21st century, non-Western economic blocs, such as BRICS+, can gain influence over the West through several economic channels at once. Twentieth-century oil embargoes may seem passe, even puny, relative to the 21st-century trade and financial actions that BRICS+ could theoretically now manage.
You can preview these new tools of economic statecraft in the composition of the admitted members who expanded the bloc from BRICS to BRICS+.
With Egypt, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia, BRICS+ can disrupt world trade not just in oil, but in everything. These three countries encircle the Suez Canal and effectively turn it into a BRICS+ lake. The canal is a key artery of the world economy. Some 12 percent of all global trade runs through the canal, which runs from the Mediterranean into the Red Sea. And it is the Red Sea that BRICS+ now encircles. Embanked by Egypt on the west and Saudi Arabia to the east, the Red Sea may not have beaches in landlocked Ethiopia, but Ethiopia is a regional power in East Africa. It has influence over the other East African countries, like Sudan and Somalia, that fill out the rest of the Red Sea’s western shore. If you wanted to weaponize the Suez’s importance in global trade, you’d have admitted Egypt, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia. BRICS admitted Egypt, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia.

Reuters Exclusive: Meta to Bar Political Advertisers From Using Generative AI Ads Tools
Facebook owner Meta (META.O) is barring political advertisers from using its new generative AI advertising products, a company spokesperson said on Monday, cutting off campaigns' access to tools that lawmakers have warned could turbo-charge the spread of election misinformation.
Meta has not yet publicly disclosed the decision in any updates to its advertising standards, which prohibit ads with content that has been debunked by the company's fact-checking partners but do not appear to have any rules specifically on AI.
The policy comes a month after Meta - the world's second-biggest platform for digital ads - announced it was starting to expand advertisers' access to AI-powered advertising tools that can instantly create backgrounds, image adjustments and variations of ad copy in response to simple text prompts.
The tools were initially made available only to a small group of advertisers starting in the spring. They are on track to roll out to all advertisers globally by next year, the company said at the time.

Israel Continues to Rebuff US Calls for ‘Humanitarian Pause’
Israel says it has cut off north Gaza from the south and is expected to send troops into Gaza City
The US has nothing to show for its calls for a temporary “pause” in Israel’s onslaught on Gaza as the Israeli military says it’s cut off north Gaza from the south and a new phase of heavy ground fighting is expected.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken was rebuffed when he visited Israel on Friday and called for a “humanitarian pause.” President Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday and discussed the idea of a “tactical pause,” but there’s no sign the Israeli leader agreed.
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the US was at the “beginning of the conversation” with Israel about the idea of a pause. “So you can expect that we’re going to continue to advocate for temporary, localized pauses in the fighting,” he said.
The Biden administration has refused to use the term “ceasefire,” claiming a stop in Israel’s assault would only benefit Hamas.

‘We Will Manage Gaza Long After the War:’ Netanyahu
As the Gaza-Israel war officially reaches one month, Israeli authorities are revealing their plans for the aftermath
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on 6 November that Tel Aviv will manage Gaza’s security long after the war between Israel and Palestinian factions is over.
“I think Israel will, for an indefinite period will, have the overall security responsibility because we've seen what happens when we don't have it. When we don't have that security responsibility, what we have is the eruption of Hamas terror on a scale that we couldn't imagine," the Israel premier said during a pre-recorded interview with ABC News on Monday.
Netanyahu also touched on the topic of a ceasefire that could see Gaza acquire aid its citizens desperately need.
