❗️Report finds Israel deliberately targeted journalists and media tents in Gaza
A new report by the Freedoms Committee of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate accuses Israel of deliberately targeting journalists and media infrastructure in Gaza, including tents near hospitals and UN-run shelters. The report says areas of displacement were hit by sniper fire and precision weapons, killing journalists who had taken refuge after being forcibly displaced.
The committee described the attacks, which destroyed media offices and killed reporters in their homes and shelters, as systematic efforts to silence witnesses and obstruct documentation of events. It stressed that such targeting constitutes a war crime under Article 79 of the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions.
The syndicate called for an independent international commission and ICC involvement to investigate these crimes, urging cooperation with UNESCO and the International Federation of Journalists to provide urgent protection. It cited the August airstrike that killed six journalists, including Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif, outside Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital as a clear example of deliberate targeting.

Israel Demands Lebanese Army Raid Civilian Homes In South: Report
The Lebanese military was said to have rejected the demand out of fear it would cause civil strife and be viewed as ‘subservience’ to Israel
Israel is pressing for the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to launch raids into civilian homes in south Lebanon in search of weapons belonging to Hezbollah, Lebanese sources told Reuters on 10 November.
The report coincided with new drone strikes on southern Lebanon, and came hours after an Israeli army force raided near the Lebanese town of Hula and blew up two homes.
“Israel is pressing Lebanon's army to be more aggressive in disarming … Hezbollah by searching private homes in the south for weaponry,” three Lebanese security sources said.
The demand “has been rejected” by the LAF, the sources added. Army leadership fears such a move could trigger civil strife and derail its overall disarmament plan, which the Lebanese military views as “cautious but effective.”
Israel requested these “raids” indirectly in October via the ceasefire mechanism, which includes Washington, Tel Aviv, Beirut, Paris, and the UNIFIL.

Texas has become the latest state to take legal action against Roblox, joining a growing number of attorneys general who accuse the gaming platform of failing to protect children.
The case also renews attention on the broader push for online age verification, a move that would lead to widespread digital ID requirements.
Attorney General Ken Paxton filed the lawsuit on November 6, alleging that Roblox allowed predators to exploit children while misleading families about safety protections.

The filing claims the company “put pixel pedophiles and corporate profit ahead of safety” by neglecting to prevent grooming, sexual exploitation, and access to explicit material.
Paxton said, “We cannot allow platforms like Roblox to continue operating as digital playgrounds for predators where the well-being of our kids is sacrificed on the altar of corporate greed.”
He added that “any corporation that enables child abuse will face the full and unrelenting force of the law.”
Texas is now the fifth state since August to pursue action against Roblox, following Louisiana, Kentucky, and Florida, with Oklahoma conducting a related investigation.
There’s no doubt that Roblox has had problems with predators in the past.
But the proposed solution and these coordinated efforts reflect a rising demand for stricter safeguards around online activity, which in practice could mean mandatory digital ID systems.
Such requirements risk turning into digital identification programs that collect and centralize personal data.

“The UAE does not yet see a clear framework for the stability force, and under such circumstances will probably not participate in such a force,” presidential advisor Anwar Gargash explained while speaking at a forum in Abu Dhabi.
US President Donald Trump wants to establish an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to control Gaza as part of his ceasefire plan that took effect on 11 October.
Despite the ceasefire, Israel continues to bomb the strip, kill civilians, and limit the entry of aid into the strip.
Over 240 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli airstrikes and attacks in Gaza since the US-backed ceasefire went into effect.

US Bombs Somalia For The 90th Time This Year
According to US Africa Command, the airstrike targeted the ISIS affiliate in Somalia's Puntland region
US Africa Command said in a press release on Monday that its forces launched an airstrike in Somalia on November 8, marking at least the 90th time that the US has bombed the country this year.
AFRICOM said the strike targeted the ISIS affiliate in Somalia’s northeastern Puntland region and that it was launched about 40 miles southeast of the Gulf of Aden port city of Bosaso, a remote area of the Cal Miskaad mountains. The command offered no other details about the strike, as it had stopped sharing casualty estimates and assessments on civilian harm earlier this year.
“Specific details about units and assets will not be released to ensure continued operations security,” the command said.
The US backs local security forces in Puntland, as the US-backed Federal Government, which is based in Mogadishu, doesn’t control the territory. In 2024, the Puntland government withdrew from the federal system in response to President Hassan Sheikh’s move to amend the constitution.
The Puntland government has come under criticism recently over reports that the UAE has been shipping weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan through an air base in Bosaso. The RSF has been accused of committing genocide in Sudan, and its fighters committed atrocities against civilians after it took the city of El Fasher in Sudan’s western Darfur region in October.

According to US Africa Command, the airstrike targeted the ISIS affiliate in Somalia's Puntland region
US Africa Command said in a press release on Monday that its forces launched an airstrike in Somalia on November 8, marking at least the 90th time that the US has bombed the country this year.
AFRICOM said the strike targeted the ISIS affiliate in Somalia’s northeastern Puntland region and that it was launched about 40 miles southeast of the Gulf of Aden port city of Bosaso, a remote area of the Cal Miskaad mountains. The command offered no other details about the strike, as it had stopped sharing casualty estimates and assessments on civilian harm earlier this year.
“Specific details about units and assets will not be released to ensure continued operations security,” the command said.
The US backs local security forces in Puntland, as the US-backed Federal Government, which is based in Mogadishu, doesn’t control the territory. In 2024, the Puntland government withdrew from the federal system in response to President Hassan Sheikh’s move to amend the constitution.
The Puntland government has come under criticism recently over reports that the UAE has been shipping weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan through an air base in Bosaso. The RSF has been accused of committing genocide in Sudan, and its fighters committed atrocities against civilians after it took the city of El Fasher in Sudan’s western Darfur region in October.

The Wall Street Journal reports that German investigators have pieced together what they describe as a “clear picture” of how an elite Ukrainian military unit carried out sabotage attacks under the direct supervision of Ukraine's former supreme commander, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
Authorities tracked boat rentals, phone numbers, and car plates, laying the groundwork for arrest warrants against three soldiers and four veteran deep-sea divers, with the goal of targeting Russia’s oil revenues and its economic ties with Germany.
A crucial lead came from a grainy black-and-white speed camera photo, which German police used with commercial facial-recognition software to identify a Ukrainian diver. Within minutes, they located his social media profiles and other links to co-conspirators. The diver, traced to Poland, was later returned to Ukraine in a BMW with diplomatic plates reportedly driven by Ukraine’s military attaché in Warsaw.
The commander of the sabotage unit, Serhii K., a 46-year-old veteran of Ukraine’s Security Service, was found in Italy using a passport issued in another name. Italian authorities are expected to decide by December whether to extradite him to Germany, where police have prepared a special aircraft to bring him to Hamburg for trial.

The app built on swipes now wants a window into your camera roll, calling it a step toward “deeper connections.”
Tinder has become the latest major platform to reach further into users’ personal data, using artificial intelligence as its justification.
After nine consecutive quarters of falling subscriber numbers, the dating app’s parent company, Match Group, is testing a new system called Chemistry.
The tool is designed to learn about users through questions and, if permitted, by scanning images stored in their phone’s Camera Roll to interpret interests and personality traits. Match says this data-driven approach will improve compatibility between users.
The pilot is currently taking place in New Zealand and Australia, and CEO Spencer Rascoff has described it as “a major pillar of Tinder’s upcoming 2026 product experience.”
The plan raises growing concerns about how far companies will go in asking for access to private information under the guise of personalization.
Match is not the only company following this path. Meta recently launched an AI feature that scans phone photos that people have never uploaded, offering to make editing suggestions.
In both cases, users are being asked to trust large corporations with intimate, locally stored data that goes well beyond what is necessary for normal app use. The benefits offered in exchange for this access are minimal, while the privacy risks are considerable.
