According to the military, Israel's 91st Division—the "Galilee Division" responsible for engaging in war on Lebanon—has completed the largest exercise since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza, aimed at enhancing operational readiness for military offensives along the border with Lebanon by way of air, sea, and land.
Israel has claimed these exercises are being conducted in order to prepare for a "range of scenarios" and includes reserve troops mobilization and force buildup.
The official statements come after increased attacks on Lebanese territory, which includes numerous southern Lebanese villages and the Bekaa Valley that have recently resulted in the killing of 6 Lebanese citizens, and the injury of dozens.

An influx of Israeli settlers and investors into Cyprus has raised alarms among Cypriots and regional observers who see echoes of Haifa’s past in Larnaca’s present. Beneath the real estate surge lies a deeper Israeli project to reshape the Eastern Mediterranean order – one in which Cyprus is both gateway and outpost.
Last year, reports multiplied of Israelis purchasing land and property across the Republic of Cyprus, an EU member. Though the numbers remain modest, the pace of acquisitions has quickened. Some interpret this wave as a symptom of Israel’s fading self-image as “the safest place for Jews.”
Others see it as a byproduct of the shifting geopolitical architecture of the Eastern Mediterranean, in which Cyprus occupies a critical node of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s expanding maritime vision.
The New Frontier
Cyprus, the Mediterranean’s third-largest island, has been divided since Turkiye’s 1974 invasion of the north, which established the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). About 400,000 Turkish Cypriots inhabit that section under Ankara’s patronage, while the internationally recognized southern Greek Cypriot Republic – home to 1.3 million people – now finds its coastline increasingly dotted with Israeli-owned real estate.
Statistics alone obscure the larger pattern. According to the Cyprus Audit Authority, non-European buyers over the past five years have come primarily from Lebanon (16 percent), China (16 percent), Russia (14 percent), and Israel (10 percent).
Meanwhile, the Jewish community in Cyprus, around 4,000 families – roughly 15,000 people – has expanded from just a few hundred two decades ago. In 2003, there were between 300 and 400 people, rising to around 3,500 in 2018, a modest but symbolically potent growth spurred by three crises: COVID-19, Israel’s judicial reform turmoil, and the war on Gaza.
Yet, this migration wave reflects a broader reversal: a rising number of Israelis leaving the country. The Knesset Research and Information Center reported that some 145,900 people emigrated between 2020 and 2024 – a trend Yedioth Ahronoth linked to the aftermath of 7 October, warning of “strategic risks.”

❗️Trump terminates all trade talks with Canada over TV advertisement
US President Donald Trump has announced that all trade negotiations with Canada are officially terminated. He cited a TV advertisement created by the Canadian provincial government which used edited remarks by the late Ronald Reagan without authorization as the triggering factor. Trump claimed the ad used Reagan’s voice to attack US tariffs, calling it “fraudulent.”
Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform late on Thursday, 23 October: “Based on their egregious behaviour, ALL TRADE NEGOTIATIONS WITH CANADA ARE HEREBY TERMINATED.”
Canada and the US had been engaged in weeks of negotiations over a possible agreement following Trump’s earlier decision to impose tariffs on Canadian steel, aluminum, and automobiles which are measures that prompted reciprocal action from Ottawa.
The Canadian prime minister’s office has not yet responded to requests for comment on Trump’s declaration that all trade talks have been terminated due to the advertisement.

Amazon’s Ring to partner with Flock, a network of AI cameras used by ICE, Feds, and Police
The partnership allows police agencies who use Flock software to request footage from Ring users in the Neighbors app.
Amazon’s smart doorbell company Ring is now working with the AI-powered surveillance camera company Flock. According to a letter sent to the company by Sen. Ron Wyden, Flock had allowed data access to the Secret Service and the Navy — as well as ICE, as previously reported by 404 Media.
The partnership is through Ring’s Community Request program. In April, Ring announced another partnership with Axon, the company behind Taser.
Now, local US law enforcement agencies that use Flock’s platforms Nova or FlockOS can request video footage from Ring users through the Neighbors app. In the request, Ring says that law enforcement must include details about an alleged crime and its time and location. They must also include a “unique investigation code.” A request for footage will appear in Ring’s Neighbors app feed to all users in certain areas of interest.
Flock cameras work by scanning the license plates and other identifying information about cars they see. Flock’s government and police customers can also make natural language searches of their video footage to find people who match specific descriptions. However, AI-powered technology used by law enforcement has been proven to exacerbate racial biases.
Ring tells its users that participation in the Community Request program is “completely optional.” Users can turn off notifications for the request entirely, and the company says that law enforcement agencies cannot see who does or does not receive their requests or who declines to respond to their requests. Ring says that the rollout will occur in the coming months.
For years, it’s been reported that Ring works with law enforcement, often providing data without a warrant. It discontinued its Request for Assistance feature in the Neighbors app in 2024, but kept open the option of warrantless granting of data during what the company considers “emergencies,” a carveout also used by Google for its Nest data.
Ring has long had a poor track record with keeping customers’ videos safe and secure. In 2023, the FTC ordered the company to pay $5.8 million over claims that employees and contractors had unrestricted access to customers’ videos for years.

What Newsom was talking about are Flock Safety’s cameras that critics say are used to create AI-powered mass surveillance networks that keep a very close eye on movement but also the behavior of people caught in its “sights.”
Flock is in the business of automatic number plate recognition tech, primarily sold to law enforcement, that can be installed even in areas with no electricity by using solar panels. The real-time component stems from Flock using databases of cars “marked” in advance, while the cameras’ connection to phone towers means the police and federal agencies can be alerted to their location instantly.

Congratulated him on Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship and conveyed best wishes for the success of upcoming Summits. Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that Modi informed him that he would attend the summit virtually due to the Deepavali celebrations in India.

Map Of Gaza Shows Where Israeli Forces Are Positioned Under Ceasefire Deal
Satellite imagery shows Israel holds about 40 active military positions beyond the yellow line.
Satellite imagery analysis by Al Jazeera’s fact-checking agency Sanad shows that the Israeli army holds about 40 active military positions in the part of the Gaza Strip outside the yellow line, the invisible boundary established under the first phase of the ceasefire to which its troops had to move, according to the deal.
The images also show that Israel is upgrading several of these facilities, which help it maintain its occupation of 58 percent of Gaza even after the pullback by troops to the yellow line.
While the majority of sites are concentrated in southern Gaza, every governorate hosts at least one military position. Some sites are built on bases established during the war, while others are newly constructed. The total number of sites in each governorate is:

The US military is operating surveillance drones over the Gaza Strip to monitor compliance with what officials described as a “fragile” ceasefire, the New York Times (NYT) reported on 25 October.
According to Israeli and US officials, the operation aims to verify that both Hamas and Israel are adhering to the terms of the truce. The aircraft are controlled from a newly established US command center in Kiryat Gat.
Two Israeli military officials and one US defense official confirmed that the flights are being conducted with Israel’s consent, characterizing them as part of Washington’s broader effort to maintain “independent oversight” rather than relying solely on Israeli reporting.
Former US ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro described the move as “a very intrusive form of American monitoring on a front where Israel faces an active threat.”

"If you're looking at a full clearance, it's never happening, it's subterranean. We will find it for generations to come," said Nick Orr, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal expert at Humanity & Inclusion, likening the situation to post–World War II British cities.
"Surface clearance, now that's something that's attainable within a generation, I think 20 to 30 years," he said, noting that "it’s going to be a very small chipping away at a very big problem."

⭕️ Four armed groups in Gaza coordinating with Israel to oust Hamas
Sky News has revealed that Israel is backing four Palestinian militias inside Gaza to weaken Hamas as part of what militia leaders call “Project New Gaza.” Hossam al-Astal, head of one of the groups, said the militias are coordinating their efforts to remove Hamas from power. He claimed that Yasser Abu Shabab and Ashraf al-Mansi, leaders of other groups, have also joined the project. All four militias are reportedly positioned along the yellow line in areas under Israeli control.
Astal told Sky News his headquarters is only 700 meters from an Israeli military outpost and that an Israeli coordinator had agreed to establish a “Green Zone” free of shelling or gunfire. Footage reviewed by the outlet showed militia vehicles with Hebrew markings scratched off. Astal admitted the group receives logistical support and ammunition from outside Gaza and has bought Hamas weapons on the black market. A senior fighter in the Abu Shabab militia also said Israel had enabled the smuggling of guns, cash, and vehicles.
The militias reportedly coordinate their movements with Israeli forces at Kerem Shalom to bring in supplies, while western powers are said to provide indirect material support. Two of the militia leaders are former Palestinian Authority security officers. While the Mansi militia denied direct contact with the Israeli military, it acknowledged coordination with Israel’s District Coordination Office. Abu Shabab previously told Army Radio he was open to working with Israel, calling Trump’s ceasefire plan “a way to end the war.”
“Soon we will achieve full control of the Gaza Strip,” he told Sky News.

Israel is backing four militias as part of a project to oust Hamas and create a “new Gaza,” according to a report released by Sky News on 25 October.
These armed groups – which throughout the war have been engaged in hostilities against Hamas on behalf of Israel – are currently operating along the Yellow Line of Washington’s ceasefire map, in Israeli-held territory.
"We have an official project - me, [Yasser] Abu Shabab, [Rami] Khalas, and [Ashraf] al Mansi," militia leader Hossam al-Astal, a Palestinian Bedouin with links to the Palestinian Authority (PA), told Sky News.
"We are all for ‘The New Gaza.’ Soon we will achieve full control of the Gaza Strip and will gather under one umbrella,” he added.
According to footage which was geolocated by Sky News, the headquarters of Astal’s militia in south Gaza’s Khan Yunis lies on a military road less than 700 meters from an Israeli army outpost.
