Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev said on 20 October that she proposed burning the body of fallen Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar instead of returning it to Gaza.
Speaking during a recent meeting of Israel’s Security Cabinet, Regev argued that certain “symbols must not be returned,” according to Israeli media reports.
“I thought we should do exactly what the Americans did with bin Laden,” she said, referencing the 2011 killing of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden by US forces, even though Bin Laden was reportedly buried at sea, not burned.
Regev’s proposal is reportedly under consideration by Israeli security officials.

❗️Israeli report exposes toxic waste burning on seized Palestinian farmland in Area C
The Israeli website Zman Yisrael has revealed that Israeli waste is being illegally dumped and burned in Area C, on former Palestinian farmland east of the town of Zemer and west of Jayyus in Qalqilya governorate.
The report, titled The Black Line, describes a vast landfill operating in a “gray zone” between Israel and the occupied West Bank, where overlapping jurisdictions have allowed Israeli companies to turn olive and almond groves into a massive burning dump.
The site, lying between the Green Line and the separation wall, falls under Israeli control but outside any effective environmental oversight.
Ghazi Ghanem, head of Zemer’s local council, said residents “are breathing cancer,” as toxic smoke from burning plastic fills the air. He warned that children suffer from respiratory illnesses and groundwater contamination is spreading.
According to Ghanem, Israeli buyers acquired the lands once farmed by Palestinians and now profit from bringing in truckloads of garbage from inside Israel “as if moving within Israel itself.”

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on 21 October accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza and denounced its ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement.
“What happened in Gaza was genocide,” he said, affirming that the enclave remains an inseparable part of a future unified Palestinian state.
He added that Israel is not only breaching the truce but also accelerating settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank and advancing efforts to Judaise the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, all in defiance of international law.
“The international community must provide protection for the Palestinian people and ensure that perpetrators of genocide do not escape accountability,” Sheikh Tamim said, criticizing the UN for failing to uphold international legitimacy “when it comes to the tragedy of the Palestinians.”
He condemned Israel for attacking “a state that is acting as a mediator,” describing the assault as a violation of sovereignty and “state terrorism.”

Washington’s biggest law firms are issuing memoranda on the implications of NSPM-7, Trump’s new national security directive , yet virtually no one in Congress has bothered to say a thing. What little the mainstream media have said about NSPM-7 has so far been wrong , often downplaying it.
Sources tell me that NSPM-7 will likely cause the FBI’s domestic terrorism watchlist, currently at about 5,000 U.S. citizens, to double in the coming months.
Last Thursday, President Donald Trump issued National Security Presidential Memorandum-7 (NSPM-7), titled “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence.” It creates a national strategy to investigate, prosecute, and dismantle organized political violence and domestic terrorism, identifying indicators of a potential domestic terrorist as the expression of “anti-Christian” or “anti-capitalism” or “anti-American” views. NSPM-7 directs the federal government to disrupt groups “before” they result in violent political acts. In other words, pre-crime.
Law firms like Arnold & Porter, WilmerHale, Caplin & Drysdale, Akin Gump, and Elias Law Group swiftly responded to NSPM-7 by issuing guidances explaining the implications for non-profits and other organizations that are among their clientele.
To date though, almost no members of Congress have commented on NSPM-7. I reached out to the following congressional leaders for a statement, but received nothing:

❗️Iran, Russia reaffirm strategic cooperation in talks on Syria
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on 20 October to strengthen coordination and discuss regional developments. Araghchi described the Iran-Russia partnership as “robust and expanding,” highlighting their close coordination on bilateral, regional, and international issues.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on 20 October to strengthen coordination and discuss regional developments. Araghchi described the Iran-Russia partnership as “robust and expanding,” highlighting their close coordination on bilateral, regional, and international issues.
He commended Moscow’s “firm and principled” stance at the UN Security Council, particularly its opposition to attempts to misuse the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action's (JCPOA) snapback mechanism to reimpose sanctions on Iran. Lavrentiev also reaffirmed the strategic nature of the partnership and stressed the importance of regular high-level consultations on regional and global affairs.

Russia Prepared To Expand Cooperation With Iran 'in All Areas': Kremlin
Tehran and Moscow continue to deepen ties following an agreement to expand Iran's nuclear energy sector
Russia announced on 20 October that it is ready to deepen cooperation with Iran “in all areas,” according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who described bilateral relations as “developing very dynamically.”
Speaking to reporters in Moscow, Peskov said Russia views Iran as a partner and criticized what he called “excessive pressure” from European states over Tehran’s nuclear program.
He added that the situation surrounding the negotiations remains “very complicated.”
The statement came as a senior Russian envoy arrived in Tehran for a meeting with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani later that day.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said earlier that the meeting is part of the regular coordination between Moscow and Tehran, describing it as “cooperation and consultations between the two countries in various fields.”
