No Evacuation For Palestinian Gangs Collaborating With Israel In Gaza: Report

With a ceasefire in effect, ISIS-linked smuggler Yasser Abu Shabab and his militia face an uncertain future for collaborating with Israel during the genocide

Palestinian collaborator with Israel and Wall Street Journal columnist Yasser Abu Shabab and his “Popular Forces” will stay in Gaza following the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, according to a report by Israel Hayom on 9 October.

The Hebrew news outlet noted that Abu Shabab's militia is deployed in areas that will not be evacuated by the Israeli army in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, allowing the group to enjoy further Israeli protection, at least temporarily.

❗️Rafah crossing to reopen under Trump agreement, EU mission returns

Following the Gaza ceasefire, an EU mission at the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt will restart, with the pedestrian crossing scheduled to reopen on 14 October, Italy announced today.

The European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) aims to offer a neutral, third-party presence at the crossing and includes police personnel from Italy, Spain, and France. Initially deployed in January during a prior ceasefire, it was halted in March.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto stated he had authorized the resumption of Italian operations within the EU mission to facilitate the crossing’s reopening under the same terms as in January.

Crosetto also mentioned that “approximately 600 trucks carrying humanitarian aid will flow into Gaza from other (non-Rafah) crossings every day.”

According to Reuters, Saudia confirmed that it will operate three weekly return flights connecting Riyadh with Moscow.

❗️Israel's Channel 12 correspondent and Axios reporter Barak Ravid, citing a senior Israeli official, says that the US military task force to 'monitor' the ceasefire in Gaza will be stationed at the Hatzor airbase, near the city of Ashdod.

❗️US troops begin arriving in Israel

US troops have begun arriving in Israel as part of a joint task force created to oversee the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire.

US officials confirmed that around 200 soldiers are being deployed to establish a coordination center responsible for managing logistics, planning, transportation, security, and engineering related to the ceasefire arrangements.

Troops will reportedly remain stationed inside Israel, operating under the command of US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Bradley Cooper, and will work alongside regional military units participating in the mission.

❗️Trump to visit Israel and Egypt on Monday, calls Gaza 'important'

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he believes the ceasefire in Gaza will last because “They’re all tired of fighting ... Gaza is very important, but this is beyond Gaza. This is peace in the Middle East — and it is a beautiful thing."

“It’s a great deal for Israel, but it’s a great deal for everybody,” he told reporters at the Oval Office. “I can tell you that I saw Israel dancing in the streets, but they were dancing in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, many, many countries.”

Trump said the Israeli captives are expected to be released on Monday once the Israeli army completes its partial pullback, with Hamas “getting them now” before they are freed from Gaza.

He confirmed plans to meet “a lot of leaders” in Egypt on Monday to discuss Gaza, likely in Cairo, and said he will address the Knesset during his visit to Israel earlier that same day.

Hamas Will Only Disarm If Fighters Integrated Into Palestinian National Army: Official

Netanyahu has said that Hamas must disarm the 'easy way or the hard way' following the Gaza ceasefire deal

During an interview with Sky News on 10 October, senior Hamas official Dr. Basem Naim confirmed that Hamas would not completely disarm and that the movement would only hand over its weapons to a Palestinian state and integrate its fighters into a Palestinian national army.

"No one has the right to deny us the right to resist the occupation of armies," Naim said.

As the ceasefire took effect on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Israel might restart the genocide if Hamas does not give up its weapons.

"Hamas will be disarmed and Gaza will be demilitarized … If this is achieved the easy way, so much the better. And if not, it will be achieved the hard way," Netanyahu stated in a televised address.

The prime minister is under pressure from Jewish supremacists ministers in his cabinet who insist on continuing the war to ethnically cleanse Gaza and annex it for the sake of building Jewish settlements.

❗️Foreign Press Association urges Israel to open Gaza to international journalists

International journalists have urged Israel to allow foreign media access to Gaza following the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Foreign Press Association (FPA) called on Israel to "immediately open the borders and allow international media free and independent access to the Gaza Strip" now that the fighting has stopped.

The FPA noted that Israel’s Supreme Court is set to hear arguments on 23 October regarding the country’s long-standing ban on foreign press entry, "after more than a year in which the state has been allowed to delay its response."

Israel Refuses To Include Abducted Palestinian Physicians In Prisoner Release List

Israeli troops have kidnaped hundreds of doctors, nurses, and first responders from Gaza since the start of the genocide

Israel will not include two prominent Palestinian doctors, Hussam Abu Safia and Marwan al-Hams, as part of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal, a Hamas official revealed on 11 October.

"The occupation refused to release Dr. Hussam Abu Safia," a Hamas official told CNN on Friday.

As part of the ceasefire, Israel is set to release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Palestinians detained in Gaza since the start of the genocide two years ago.

In turn, Hamas will release the remaining 46 Israeli captives, including 20 who remain alive.

Abu Safia was abducted by Israeli troops in December 2024 and taken to the Sde Teiman detention center, where Palestinians have been killed, tortured, and sexually assaulted.
