❗️US hits Iran with new sanctions on oil export network

The US has imposed new sanctions on more than 90 individuals, entities, and vessels accused of facilitating Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical exports, in a bid to cut off Tehran’s oil revenues.

The measures target networks spanning the UAE, India, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore, as well as “shadow fleet” vessels and key infrastructure.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the move aims to “degrade Iran’s cash flow” and disrupt funding for groups threatening the US and its allies. The State Department also sanctioned around 40 additional actors tied to Iran’s energy trade, including major petrochemical buyers.

Trump could NOT guarantee that Israel won’t start bombing Gaza again: "First thing we’re doing is getting our hostages back..... After that, we’ll see."

Syrian Alawites Protest Child Abduction, Sectarian Murders

Violence by Damascus-linked forces against the Alawite religious minority have intensified since the Syrian president returned from his New York visit last month

Alawites in Syria's coastal city of Latakia held a protest march on 9 October, while parents refused to send their children to school in communities across western and central Syria, to protest the shocking kidnapping ...

The protests come as abductions and sectarian murders carried out against the Alawite religious minority by Sunni extremists from Syrian government-affiliated security forces continue to rise.

On 8 October, armed men belonging to Syrian government security forces, known as General Security, driving a silver Hyundai Santa Fe, abducted eighth-grade student Mohammad Qais Haidar, the Syrian Justice Archive (SJT) reported.

The kidnapping was particularly shocking as the boy was abducted outside his school in the coastal city of Latakia in broad daylight and in full view of his classmates.

Mohammad's family is well known in Latakia, as his father is a university professor and his mother is a schoolteacher. The kidnapping occurred in an area presumed to be safe and under the watch of local security forces stationed near the school.

No Evacuation For Palestinian Gangs Collaborating With Israel In Gaza: Report

With a ceasefire in effect, ISIS-linked smuggler Yasser Abu Shabab and his militia face an uncertain future for collaborating with Israel during the genocide

Palestinian collaborator with Israel and Wall Street Journal columnist Yasser Abu Shabab and his “Popular Forces” will stay in Gaza following the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, according to a report by Israel Hayom on 9 October.

The Hebrew news outlet noted that Abu Shabab's militia is deployed in areas that will not be evacuated by the Israeli army in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, allowing the group to enjoy further Israeli protection, at least temporarily.

❗️Rafah crossing to reopen under Trump agreement, EU mission returns

Following the Gaza ceasefire, an EU mission at the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt will restart, with the pedestrian crossing scheduled to reopen on 14 October, Italy announced today.

The European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) aims to offer a neutral, third-party presence at the crossing and includes police personnel from Italy, Spain, and France. Initially deployed in January during a prior ceasefire, it was halted in March.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto stated he had authorized the resumption of Italian operations within the EU mission to facilitate the crossing’s reopening under the same terms as in January.

Crosetto also mentioned that “approximately 600 trucks carrying humanitarian aid will flow into Gaza from other (non-Rafah) crossings every day.”

Indonesia has barred Israeli gymnasts from entering the country for the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship scheduled in Jakarta later this month, citing opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Indonesian gymnastics federation chief Ita Juliati confirmed that the Israeli team “will not be attending.”

Riyadh and Moscow continue to deepen ties via energy deals, visa-free travel, and economic cooperation

Saudi Arabia’s national airliner, Saudia, launched its first direct passenger flight to the Russian capital Moscow on 10 October, signaling a significant boost in ties between the two OPEC+ leaders.

According to Reuters, Saudia confirmed that it will operate three weekly return flights connecting Riyadh with Moscow.

The airline said the move is intended to boost travel for tourists, business delegations, and officials between the two capitals.

We could be witnessing the fall of the US empire, and its reserve currency, coincided by the rise of an emerging power structure and world economic system in which BRICS nations rise as the new dominant power of the globe.
