Texas Attorney General Defies Biden, Says Texas Will Continue to Ban Federal Agents from the Border
AG Ken Paxton is setting up for a showdown with federal agents in an effort to protect Texas' borderland from the southern invasion.

October Flashback: US Intelligence Warned Of The Potential For Violence Days Before Hamas Attack
The US intelligence community produced at least two assessments based in part on intelligence provided by Israel warning the Biden administration of an increased risk for Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the weeks ahead of Saturday’s seismic attack on southern Israel, according to sources familiar with the intelligence.
One update from September 28 warned, based on multiple streams of intelligence, that the terror group Hamas was poised to escalate rocket-attacks across the border. An October 5 wire from the CIA warned generally of the increasing possibility of violence by Hamas. Then, on October 6, the day before the attack, US officials circulated reporting from Israel indicating unusual activity by Hamas — indications that are now clear: an attack was imminent.
... the assessments were among a wave of high-level warnings given to the Biden administration by both its own intelligence community and Middle Eastern allies over the past year, raising questions about whether the US and Israel were appropriately attuned to the risk.
A senior official from an Arab country in the region said their country repeatedly raised concerns with US and Israeli officials that Palestinian anger was reaching a dangerous pitch. “But they never listened every time we warned them,” the official said.

President Biden acknowledged on Thursday that his strikes against the Houthis were not working to stop the Yemeni group but vowed they would continue anyway as the US military bombed Yemen for the fifth time within a week.

Tedros Tells the World Economic Forum the WHO Pandemic Treaty Is Needed To Combat “Disease X”
The treaty outlines proposals for increased surveillance, vaccine passports, and monitoring "misinformation."
Tedros took part in a session titled “Disease X” at the forum where he underscored what he believes to be the critical importance of being more prepared for potential future pandemics.
Tedros backed the adoption of the WHO Pandemic Treaty, viewing it as a necessary tool for enhancing our understanding of such diseases.
Addressing the Davos audience, Tedros stated, “This is about a common enemy. Without a shared response, we will face the same problem as COVID.”
...Earlier this week, the WHO worked with the WEF to advocate for the implementation of the Pandemic Treaty. The treaty, backed by the European Union (EU), aims to strengthen global resilience to future pandemics and already has plans to introduce a digital vaccine passport by this Spring.
With a deadline of May 2024, the WHO, along with support from the EU, is working toward a binding agreement among the United Nations member states to facilitate global participation.

NATO Ensures ‘Quantum Ready’ Alliance With Its First-Ever Quantum Strategy
NATO officially released a summary of its quantum strategy.
The strategy outlines how quantum can be applied to defense.
Examined areas include sensing, imaging, precise positioning, navigation and timing, improve the detection of submarines, and upgrade and secure data communications using quantum resistant cryptography.
Many of these technologies are already used in the private sector and have become the subject of strategic competition. NATO’s quantum strategy helps foster and guide NATO’s cooperation with industry to develop a transatlantic quantum technologies ecosystem, while preparing NATO to defend itself against the malicious use of quantum technologies.
Quantum is one of the technological areas that NATO Allies have prioritized due to their implications for defence and security. These include artificial intelligence, data and computing, autonomy, biotechnology and human enhancements, hypersonic technologies, energy and propulsion, novel materials, next-generation communications networks and space.

Israeli President Says ‘No Israelis in Their Right Mind’ Are Thinking About Peace
Netanyahu reportedly said the slaughter in Gaza could go into 2025
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said Thursday that no Israelis “in their right mind” are thinking about peace as Israeli officials continue to make clear the onslaught in Gaza will not end anytime soon.
“If you ask an average Israeli now about his or her mental state, nobody in his right mind is willing now to think about what will be the solution of the peace agreements,” he said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
“Because everybody wants to know: Can we be promised real safety in the future?” Herzog added.
His comments came after Israeli TV reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel’s current assessment is that the operations in Gaza will continue into 2025. Israeli military officials have said publicly that they expect the fighting to continue through the entire year of 2024.
Netanyahu has repeatedly vowed the slaughter will continue despite the growing international pressure, which includes South Africa accusing Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
South Africa’s case cites genocidal rhetoric from Israeli officials, including Herzog, who said there are no innocent civilians in Gaza. “It’s an entire nation out there that is responsible. It’s not true this rhetoric about civilians not aware not involved. It’s absolutely not true. … and we will fight until we break their backbone,” the Israeli president said on October 12.
