‼️ White House releases Gaza '20-point-plan,' Netanyahu says he agrees with it

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today accepted a proposal by President Donald Trump, referred to as the '20-point-plan.'

Key takeaways from the plan:

– Fighting would stop immediately and the Israeli captives would be released within 72 hours once both parties agree.

– Israel will free 250 prisoners serving life sentences along with 1,700 Palestinians from Gaza detained after 7 October.

– Gaza is set to be administered by a temporary technocratic government, with Israel refraining from annexing the territory.

– No forced displacement from Gaza, and reconstruction of the Strip as a "de-radicalized terror-free zone" will begin.

– A Trump 'economic development' plan "to rebuild and energize Gaza," and a "special economic zone" will be established.

– All military and "terror" infrastructure in Gaza will be destroyed, including tunnels and weapons production facilities.

– All 'military operations' will be halted during this period for a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces. Hamas members who commit to 'peace' will be granted amnesty, while those who do not will be offered safe passage to third countries.

– "Security" will be provided by regional and international forces, who will also help train Palestinian police, while aid will be delivered to Gaza at agreed levels. The US will oversee dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis if the Palestinian Authority (PA) implements "reforms" according to US-Israeli demands.

❗️Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi:

– “Trump’s plan has not reached us or any Palestinian party so far, and we have not reviewed it. Its clauses, however, are close to the Israeli vision.”

– “The weapons of the resistance have never been used to aggress against anyone; their purpose is freedom and independence.”

– “What happened was an attempt to stifle the international momentum and the growing recognitions of the Palestinian state. The provisions announced in Trump’s plan are vague and lack guarantees.”

– “We will not accept any proposal that does not include the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and protection from massacres.”

⭕️ Macron backs Saudi-hosted conference to equip Lebanese Army for Hezbollah disarmament
——

French President Emmanuel Macron announced support for a Saudi-hosted conference aimed at bolstering the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) as it takes on the controversial mission of disarming Hezbollah. Macron told the UN General Assembly that Lebanon would “breathe easier” once Hezbollah’s weapons were handed over to the LAF.

A French source confirmed to Breaking Defense that the meeting, expected before the end of 2025, will include Gulf, Arab, European, Commonwealth countries, and the US. France signaled readiness to provide advanced capabilities, including radars for air defense systems, while the conference may also extend aid to Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces.

The initiative comes as UNIFIL’s mandate nears expiry after nearly five decades, and amid past Saudi-Lebanese tensions that led Riyadh to cancel a $3 billion aid package in 2016. It follows France’s 2024 donor conference that raised $200 million for the LAF, and a new $14.2 million US package announced this month to supply explosives and equipment to dismantle Hezbollah’s weapons infrastructure. Hezbollah has repeatedly rejected the disarmament plan outright.

❗️Israel probes mysterious recruitment and threat calls

The Israeli National Cyber Directorate announced today that it is probing several reports from Israelis who received phone calls containing recorded Hebrew messages aimed at recruitment, threats, and intimidation.

Ynet reported that one of the recordings purportedly came from Iranian intelligence, seeking to recruit agents.

“Iranian intelligence is looking for official agents, competitive salary, comprehensive security. Find us on Telegram and the internet,” the recording stated, according to Ynet.

An unidentified man told the outlet that he and his wife received a call offering them financial compensation in exchange for enlisting as agents for Iran.

❗️Trump’s so-called 'peace' plan gets Arab seal of approval

Eight Arab and Muslim foreign ministers — from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt — lined up to praise Donald Trump’s so-called “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict,” voicing confidence in his ability to bring "peace."

The ministers’ statement doubled down on partnership with Washington, promising to engage “positively and constructively” with the US to secure an agreement and praised Trump's "sincere efforts" to end the war.

The Palestinian Authority also chimed in, welcoming Trump’s “sincere and tireless efforts to end the war on Gaza” and affirming its “confidence in his ability to find a path to peace.”

In a statement via Wafa news agency, the PA pledged to work with the US and 'regional partners' on a comprehensive agreement.

Trump's 20-Point-Plan For Gaza Includes Last-Minute Edits By Netanyahu

——
US President Donald Trump’s 20-point-plan for Gaza, unveiled on Monday, included major revisions sought by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, angering Arab officials who took part in the negotiations, sources familiar with the matter told Axios.

On Sunday, US envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner held a six-hour meeting with Netanyahu and his close adviser Ron Dermer.

During the talks, Netanyahu secured several changes to the text, particularly regarding the conditions and timeline for Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza.

The revised plan links Israel’s withdrawal to the disarmament of Hamas and grants Israel veto power over the process.

Even if all conditions are met and the three withdrawal phases are carried out, Israeli forces would still remain within a security perimeter inside Gaza “until Gaza is properly secure from any resurgent terror threat,” a clause that could keep them there indefinitely.

❗️Israeli forces have re-arrested Hanan al-Barghouti – freed earlier in a prisoner exchange deal – after storming her home in the town of Kobar, north of Ramallah.

Barghouti was first detained during the genocide war on Gaza and released in the initial exchange. She is the sister of Nael al-Barghouti, the freed and exiled prisoner who spent 45 years in Israeli jails.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, the Israeli forces have escalated their campaign against those freed in the last exchange deal through arrests, field investigations, and interrogations.

At least 40 released prisoners have been detained since January and February, with 16 still held, including three women. Most were placed under administrative detention, among them Wael al-Jaghoub of Nablus, who previously spent 23 years in Israeli prisons.

❗️Saudi Arabia & Jared Kushner to buyout videogame company Electronic Arts

Video game giant Electronic Arts will be taken private in a record-setting $55 billion leveraged buyout by a consortium that includes private equity firm Silver Lake, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and Jared Kushner’s Affinity Partners, the company announced today.

If completed, it would mark the largest leveraged buyout in history, surpassing TXU Energy’s 2007 acquisition and other major deals on record, including those involving Toys R Us and Hertz.

Under the agreement, EA shareholders will receive $210 per share in cash, a 25% premium to the closing price on 25 September before deal rumors surfaced. The deal carries an equity value of $52.54 billion, according to Reuters calculations.

Electronic Arts stated that the deal includes approximately $36 billion in equity investment and $20 billion in debt financing provided by JPMorgan, with $18 billion of that debt expected to be drawn at the close of the transaction.
