Israel's Bulldozers Of War: Finishing What The Nakba Started

Washington's subsidized bulldozer shipments are enabling Tel Aviv to raze Gaza to the ground, reviving tactics used during the Nakba to ethnically cleanse Palestine.

In recent months, Israel has ramped up its use of heavily-armored bulldozers to raze entire neighborhoods, olive groves, and critical infrastructure across the already devastated Gaza Strip. These machines form part of a systematic strategy to permanently alter Gaza's geography and demography.

In January, US President Donald Trump greenlit the transfer of 134 D9 bulldozers to Israel, upon the implementation of the Gaza–Israel ceasefire agreement. This massive deal had previously been frozen under former US president Joe Biden's administration. The US-made Caterpillar machines, dubbed "Doobi" or "Teddy Bear" in Hebrew, were swiftly put to use after Israel violated and ended the ceasefire. Soon after, “Operation Gideon's Chariots” was launched on 16 May, flattening over 2,100 buildings in Khan Yunis alone, shortly after the deal was finalized.

US bulldozers powering Israel’s war machine

In July, Israel received a shipment of bulldozers from the US, in what has been described as “the largest air-and-sea logistics operation in the history of the State of Israel,” according to a Defense Ministry official. Back in February, Tel Aviv also requested another military purchase of brand-new bulldozers, estimated to cost a total of $295 million. In March, the US then fast-tracked the deal, managing to bypass congressional approval by doing so.

Many of these machines have since been deployed to expand Israel's so-called buffer zone in Gaza, now stretching more than one kilometer into the coastal enclave, severing the strip from the rest of occupied Palestine. There, Israel’s combat engineering corps – which includes the Yahalom, Asaf, and Lahav battalions – have been used to both bulldoze and rig buildings with explosives, also destroying the majority of Gaza’s agricultural lands. According to UN estimates, 92 percent of Gaza's residential structures have been either partially or completely destroyed.

US Formally Confirms Shut Down Of Counter-Disinformation Frameworks After Censorship Accusations

Once a war room for supposedly battling Russian bots, now a relic of bureaucratic overreach and mission creep.

The US government has officially scrapped its primary programs meant to tackle foreign disinformation, marking a decisive break from a years-long effort that had come under fire for suppressing domestic speech under the pretense of national security.

On Wednesday, the State Department confirmed it was ending “all frameworks” that had been used to counter foreign influence campaigns.

This comes months after Secretary of State Marco Rubio terminated the Counter Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference office, or R/FIMI, the rebranded version of the Global Engagement Center (GEC)...

Initially created in 2016 under the Obama administration to target online messaging from ISIS, the GEC’s mission quickly expanded. By the end of that year, Congress had broadened its authority to include “disinformation” efforts by foreign governments.

However, the scope and tactics of the GEC raised constitutional red flags.

That view was echoed by Darren Beattie, acting under-secretary of state for public diplomacy. “Far from spiking a single plan, we were proud to spike the entire GEC,” he said.

“Not only was GEC’s infamous censorship activity profoundly misaligned with this administration’s pro-free speech position, it was woefully and embarrassingly ineffective on its own terms.”

Lawmakers objected to federal interference in lawful expression, accusing the agency of operating more like a political filter than a national security shield. Those concerns intensified after the GEC was folded into R/FIMI last December, a move triggered by Congress revoking its authorization. Approximately 50 employees were absorbed into the newly created office.

This year, Rubio announced the final shutdown of R/FIMI, calling its actions a betrayal of democratic values.

The State Department’s latest statement reinforced that view, acknowledging the framework had morphed into a tool for censorship rather than a legitimate defense against foreign propaganda.

Pro-Israel Tech Firm To Take Control Of US Tiktok Algorithm

US President Trump and Chinese President Xi are close to a deal for Beijing to relinquish control of TikTok in the US

Oracle Corp. will recreate the algorithm and provide data security for a new US version of TikTok following the forthcoming sale of the popular Chinese-owned social media app to US investors, Bloomberg reported on 22 September.

Citing a White House official, the financial news outlet wrote that the arrangement seeks to ensure US control of TikTok’s algorithm, which recommends videos and determines what users in the US see on their feeds.

The US government has demanded that TikTok’s Chinese parent, ByteDance Ltd., sell its stake in the US subsidiary of the app.

In 2024, Congress enacted the “TikTok divest-or-ban” law after Jewish lobby groups became angered by the large numbers of young people in the US viewing and sharing videos of Israel's mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Access to TikTok was briefly blocked for US users in January as the ban came into effect. However, President Trump issued an extension for a deal to be reached, allowing access to resume after just one day.
