Harvard Study Finds Israel ‘Disappeared’ Nearly 400,000 Palestinians In Gaza, Half Of Them Children: Report

The study uses data-driven analysis and spatial mapping to highlight a severe decline in Gaza’s population due to Israel’s indiscriminate attacks and siege

A new report published by the Harvard database reveals that Israel has “disappeared” at least 377,000 Palestinians since the start of its genocidal campaign against the Gaza Strip in 2023.

Half of this number is believed to be Palestinian children.

The report was written by Israeli professor Yaakov Garb, who used data-driven analysis and spatial mapping to show how the Israeli army’s siege of Gaza and indiscriminate attacks on civilians in the enclave have led to a serious drop in its population.

The 377,000 Palestinians who are unaccounted for due to Israel’s genocide are approximately 17 percent of the Gaza Strip’s entire population, which now stands at about 1.85 million. Prior to the war in Gaza, the strip’s population was estimated at 2.227 million.

While some are displaced or missing, a significant number are believed to have been killed by Israeli forces, according to the report.

Israel Confirms ‘Direct Normalization Talks’ With Syria

The revelation comes as Hanegbi says Syria and Lebanon are candidates for inclusion in the Abraham Accords, with Tel Aviv deepening contacts with Damascus

National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi confirmed on 24 June that Israel is engaged in direct, daily communication with Syria’s interim authorities, with the aim of exploring normalization.

Speaking to Israel Hayom, Hanegbi said he personally leads the talks “at all levels” with political officials in Damascus.

His remarks, first made during a classified Knesset session on 23 June, mark the most explicit Israeli admission to date of negotiations with the transitional Syrian government.

Hanegbi said Syria and Lebanon are being considered for future inclusion in the so-called Abraham Accords, and that any Israeli withdrawal from occupied buffer zones would be subject to final arrangements. He clarified, however, that Tel Aviv “will not withdraw from the Syrian Hermon.”

The comments follow a series of indirect contacts and reports of “face-to-face” meetings between Syrian and Israeli officials, aimed at preventing confrontation and formalizing ties under the leadership of Syrian de facto President Ahmad al-Sharaa – formerly known as Al-Qaeda commander Abu Mohammad al-Julani.
